Wolf Team

So I downloaded the new client last night and started up the game. Seems as though they temporarily had the US/Canada servers up, which was shown in Levi's post. Turns out that they were testing the server, so I tried it out.

First off, the new interface looks amazingly better than it did in closed beta.

Second, it looks as though they fixed the lag problem in game. You still get the minor lag 30 seconds into the game, but nothing more afterwards.

Third, they added a new map that wasn't even in Closed Beta that's located at the top of a tall building. I wish I could remember the name.

The weapons they start you off with were the same as in Closed Beta, except they expire in 30 days. So you have a month to earn your gold and get those bad ass weapons you loved in Closed Beta.

Ok, the new client is available for download from tomorrow. In the mean time, for some reason, they've fired up the US/Canada server despite no one being able to play. Or can they? It seems that some folks have managed to grab the new client early, and are playing Wolfteam right now. I would advise against actually doing that though, for all we know they'll drop the banhammer on anyone who's playing early. But since it's Softnyx, I reckon they haven't grasped the concept of it happening, or they just don't care.

It isn't gonna be back up until open beta starts. I think last week it was purely as a fluke, maybe the devs didn't even know they'd left it sheduled to go online.

From the 16th open beta starts for Wolfteam. This is where we'll actually be starting from scratch and earning all those shiny weapons/upgrades. You'll have to download a new client which will be available for download as open beta goes live, hopefully the serious lag issues will be gone one it comes along.
