The most curious case of the Bennetts being used as plot devices for me has to be Ayana and the Mikaelsons. Why couldn't they have written Esther as seeing all the death Idk going to the spirits for a solution and getting visions of Virginia. Why couldn't they have written Esther as being a mother who would go to monstrous lengths to preserve the lives of her children, experimenting on people to find a way to make them immortal.

We never got to see them interact in the show but there are a lot of fics that have them sort of teaming up as the story continues from the end of Season 1. Also there are not enough Ji Ah fan works out there methinks.
