Writer's Block: The Greenest Grass

Who has it easier—men or women? Why or why not?
How about ..neither because neither can translate the other's language in order to communicate properly causing an abundant amount of issues that lead to arguments and so on and so forth and if one side does manage to translate the other the other gets accused of things that make no sense etc etc. The list forever goes on. Not to mention that though women have our  periods and have pms! So do men!!  And believe me I don't believe getting kicked in the groin can be fun, it's about as fun I'm sure as trying to pop out an 8 or more pound child between your legs and having to carry it for 9 months. I mean just the carrying of it.. guys go through the pain and suffering of either having sympathy pain.. or the "omg! I've got a child on the way, no money etc." or they go through the " omg child! I don't care and I will run far far away only for her to try to hunt me down at every turn!" Or they go through the constant nagging etc. that us women put them through during that time. All in all.. there are so many things to list that  really... it's just  not fair to either! lol

So in my view.. again.. neither have it easier!

Writer's Block: What Next?

What do you think happens to us when we die?
Good question. I would like not to be worm food however, I would like to think that our spirits go to a place to rest and then can be reborn again to learn the lessons we need to learn to really move on and make this world a better place if we can. But I think some of us aren't doing a good enough job! I like the idea of reincarnation than heaven and hell.

Phone connections in brief...

Just thought I'd write in here for those that don't read my deadjournal such as .. Mel lol. My phone is currently not working though my net is. It's an odd scenario and I have no clue what's going on. The ringer is on, tone is on, it's all plugged in. But any other phone does not work either. I can't call out and I can't receive calls.  In a sense this has been good for me cause then I don't expect calls from mom or sis or even Ren on the home phone. Though mom has tried calling me on my cell. If it's not an emergancy don't call me on the cell I told her. The last time she called was about music stores. The time before that.. the night before, was about whores apparently trying to prevent Ren from calling me and to try to break us up even though we already are. Hmm what does that say? How about nuts!?

Anyway yes I hear clicking when dialing out, no dial tone and calls aren't getting through. i've tried everything from changing the splitter to changing the cord to taking the batteries out and such. Still nothing and yet my net works so there is nothing wrong with that line. It could be the phone but why I have no idea and if it is then that just sucks cause I don't have the damned receipt for it cause welfare has it so all I have is the box and manual, all it's parts and it's practically brand new only working for 3 whole months practically. So I don't get it. I'm going to ask bell what they can do after talking to Alun. If anyone else who reads this has any suggestions about what could be wrong and perhaps what I haven't checked .. like say the new people above me possibly having problems? then please let me know. Thanks!!! :)

Writer's Block: The Undead

With Halloween on the horizon, burning questions about the undead need to be answered: Can being a zombie be considered suffering?
Um.. how to answer this.. how about an undoubted yes ? That is assuming one's soul would be also trapped in that undead body. Kind of being trapped between worlds perhaps... *lets imagination run rampant for a few moments.*

Yep there isn't much more to say about this right at the moment.

Moving on to other matters.. like I haven't written in here for quite some time.. lol it's because I have another journal here for my dreams, inspirational writing and of course my book that I'm attempting to write.  I've been also not reading as much and though I have watched more films there aren't many that I would like to critique here that really peaked my interest enough to analyze or write about.

So that's the end of that for now. Time for bed.  :) *yawn*

Writer's Block: The Final Frontier

Imagine a world without Star Trek. Is it a world you'd be very happy to live in, or a dark and terrible place?
You know what I'm not entirely sure about that lol. I love the show and I think it  made it's mark as a pivotal point in history. It certainly made some changes, for instance the first interracial kiss ever aired on national tv! To me that's just one of the many breaking points as well as inspiring people like myself and our imaginations. So without Star Trek, hmm or something very similar to, I think it may just be a different world that's for sure.

But that's just my opinion right? ;)

New Reviews of a film and a book

Here are two reviews I did last night since I watched a new film and finished the book I was reading. :) Yay. Finally completed that book. Takes me quite sometime lol. I know that they sound like newspaper reviews or something, *sigh* it just tends to be the way I write when I write some reviews. Ok well feel free to read and enjoy. :)

Review of Stardust : the film

Stardust was written by Neil Gaiman and made into a film. I have not read the book though I eventually intend to because his works are amazing.  It wasn’t entirely as I expected however it was greatly amusing and if there were a fantastical film of romance that I like, this would definitely be on my top rated list.

A story of a young man who goes across the “wall” into a magical realm called Stormhold to bring back to his love a fallen star and discovers exactly what true love is. Evil old witches, flying Pirates and ships and Princes searching for a gem in order to become king, all of these Tristan must either become allies or enemies and must protect the star that fell from the heavens. It’s quite an enchanting and adventurous little tale. To be honest I really wanted to see it from the beginning and the one thing that shocked me the most and made me laugh the hardest were the Pirates. A little hint: they’re not what you’d expect, especially Captain Shakespeare. Definitely a film that I think Kathy will enjoy since she isn’t much for horror, action, sci-fi films.  It’s a family film.

Review of Ireland by Frank Delaney

To begin I will say that this novel is one of the best books I’ve read. Sure it took me longer than I thought I admit but it was worth the wait. Just like his greatest idol, a man who arrives at the door with hat and pipe, little Ronan O’Mara who grows up to become a Storyteller. All through the book Ronan is telling his story, his search for the Storyteller, a man with a mysterious past, and he tells of the Storyteller’s story and the tales he weaves and tells as he travels around Ireland.  As Ronan gets older he gets closer to his own past and secrets his family has held for so long. The mysteries that he uncovers will both be a tad shocking and a little bit expected.  From New Grange to a battle in 1916 at a Dublin post office, this book keeps you on your toes, keeps your imagination wanting more stories to feed on and shows that Shakespeare’s play within a play will never die.

I will honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed the book and it gave me a different outlook on quite a few things. These things include family ties, the art of storytelling and description, love, history and ancestry, revolutions and the meaning of the word “hero”.  The characters are so vivid that they stay in your imagination and memory as if you’ve met them yourself. I highly recommend that anyone who wishes to read of Ireland, whether it be for fiction or fact, read this book. The author uses Ireland’s myths and it’s true historical facts to create a great story and stunning characters.

Quick Transformers review

Sorry everyone for not really writing in here but as most know I have another journal and this one is strictly for reviews and the like. I must say that things are going pretty decently over the past while.

This review will be quick, I saw Transformers a while ago and it was amazing. Watched it with Gord and Mike though I really wished Kyle had been there. Mike talked a bit more than I was hoping for through the movie but I did get some background stuff that I otherwise might not have gotten. The movie would have been better had there not been a galre on the screen as well and had I not been distracted by a few things. I will have to watch it again though it is also very deserving to be watched again.  :) I liked Bumble Bee.. though I liked all of the good guys of course! lol.  Fun stuff. :)

And I know that's not much of a review but I really don't know what else to write in here. *goes to write a full entry in my other journal ;)*

Update!

Hello everyone! I'm sure you've noticed the new look. Decided it was time for a change on this journal. I know I don't use it often. There really hasn't been many movie or book reviews as of late and I STILL haven't read the end of "Ireland".  *sigh* So much to do lately. Lots of school work and although it's going well , one can get to be stressed still.  The teacher for proposal class though , is impressed with my group for proposal since we're so far ahead and we're the only group actually emailing the client etc. We're on top of things. Wheee!

The most exciting thing that's happened lately is the Nightwish concert I went to  in Toronto this past Tuesday and the fact I almost got to meet them. I will be going again in May in London Ontario, only  about 45 minutes away. The entire review is in my deadjournal though. I don't feel like rewriting what I wrote there.  I will say that it was indescribable and so good I want to go again. I made some new friends and that was exciting as well as being right  up front row and close enough to almost touch them. And of course I must say that their pics, just do not do them justice! They are all good looking and Emppu.. *day dreams* is soo very hot!  And so funny! The theatrics on stage are hilarious and awesome and they really make you feel like you're friends and family just watching them jamming on stage. They're all so full of energy. Anette was dancing and jumping around (while tarja wouldn't feel the music and would just head bang). Emppu was running across the stage and jumping while playing ... so cute! lol. And believe me, for those who may like them and have not seen them live, he REALLY DOES have fluffy hair! lol.

Ok I'm going to stop now or I'll really begin to sound like a fangirl. lol I have no intention of screaming in their ears when I meet them. That would be just....well.. rude lol. And give them more of a headache than what they would already have. hehe.

Well that's it I guess. I'll try to update this one more often however I will probably do more in my deadjournal. I'm off now.. I have a lot of php coding to do. :) yay php lol .

Spiderman 3 review

Needless to say I wasn't impressed by this film. I thought it needed work with the storyline/plot. The first and second films were better and got to the point. This one felt like it was dragging on and was worth the two dollars I paid for it and certainly not a 7-9 dollar show. The beginning was ok but I thought more would happen, it concentrated more on MJ and Peter's relationship rather than the alien or Peter's alter ego, Spiderman. It started to pick up after he fought with Harry however even then I thought more would happen, that either Harry would change or some how become friends with him again sooner rather than later.

Then it dragged on further when he had the venom suit on, where he basically tried to attract women and danced in the street and although we found that amusing, to me it really didn't go anywhere other than to emphasize his becoming a jerk in the end.

Finally came the battles with both sandman and venom and you begin to understand why the sandman did what he did etc. You also find the whole connection (the full circle effect) to Peter's uncle's death. The end battle added the New Goblin to the mix on the good side. I won't write the ending for those that are fans of spiderman and havn't seen it however I don't highly reccomend this film. It takes the spidy out of spiderman I think.

Just personal opinion here. *shrugs*
