I am obsessed with fictional guys being really weird about each other. Hard at work in the plausible deniability mines. You know those pairings who would jerk each other off before they'd kiss

tlirsgender

I know I said fictional guys but I want to be alone with the person who tagged this as mclennon. Like from the beatles

vraska-theunseen

i have some interesting news for you

tlirsgender

Yeah okay then

tlirsgender

I think my favorite part of this post so far is the beatles fans in my notes 1. Acting like this is common knowledge & 2. Saying they got far weirder without elaborating. Alright

It also inspired the only good New York Post headline ever.

If you're comfortable accusing anyone of faking disability, you're not a real ally to disabled people

teaboot

One time when I was a kid a group of girls and I had to treat another student for hypothermia by ourselves because she had so many invisible health issues that the adults we asked for help didn't believe us. The student in question was actively hallucinating. When I finally ran for help the people I grabbed were slow as shit to respond, casually joking about how "dramatic" the person in question was.

The kid was picked up by an ambulance 30 minutes later.

Now as an adult working in security I get SO MANY folks- upper-middle aged mostly- coming to me to 'rat out' people they think are faking it.

I was once sent into a bathroom because a client demanded that the "fucker won't get out, so go drag them out"- I was NEVER going to do that, so I did a wellness check instead. You know who it was? A person recently released from the hospital after a car accident. They had a hole in their skull and major hearing loss. They couldn't answer the owner because they couldn't HEAR the owner.

Another time about a homeless man who got around town by kicking the ground from his wheelchair. "You know he doesn't actually need that thing, his legs work fine, it's just for pity points"- Oh, so he's not paralyzed, his wheelchair is performative? Funny story Dale, I actually know that guy, he was backed over by a truck and has chronic pain from his shattered pelvis. But sure, let's make him stand up and walk everywhere so nobody feels too bad for him and tries to help him or something.

"She doesn't need that scooter, I've seen her get out of it."

"Look how fat he is, because he just rides around and refuses to get up."

"She doesn't really need that cane- she comes here without it all the time"

Sincerely, truly, from the bottom of my heart- as someone who isn't physically disabled but hears this shit all the time- fuck off

Looks like @staff mistakenly censored this comic, which is an ironic and very funny thing to happen

Here it is again. You might want to save it just in case an accident like that happens again

EDIT: HMM. LOOKS LIKE OP WAS BANNED TOO. WHAT A FUNNY. IRONIC. ACCIDENT

ID: a black and white political cartoon. A man in a suit labeled “corporate media” holds a box labeled “US government - control of internet speech” and asks an Uncle Sam figure “how would you like this wrapped?” The wrapping choices are “Anti-Terrorism”, which is a paper covered in flags and stars, and “Protect Kids”, which is a paper covered in cute symbols like smiley faces, flowers, and animals. /end ID.

I don’t have time to unpack my full thoughts on the whole argument of ‘you shouldn’t be a burden to the healthcare system’ but I would like to chime in on it:

so, all athletes should immediately stop playing sports. construction workers, anyone with jobs that put them at risk, they need to find different employment. people with uteruses shouldn’t ever get pregnant, either. actually you know what? don’t enter a car or vehicle at all! and don’t even get me started on old people. what age do we think they should just give it up & throw in the towel? 50? 60? after that they become way too burdensome. it’s a problem.

sweet baby eugenicist, your anger is misplaced. they want you to blame yourself instead of their crumbling system. you should be asking, what kind of a fucking healthcare system is it if it can be burdened by the very thing it exists to provide? which is healthcare?!

This is the funniest new thing I’ve learned today about the Swedish/Danish cultural exchange.

The Swedes have these adorable cakes called Prinsesstårta aka Princess Cakes.

image

When I saw this I thought “Oh! I know those! We have the same thing here in Denmark!”

The same thing? These beauties.

image

I persent to you, the Kajkage aka Kaj Cake. They’re smaller but pretty much made of the same ingredients and they have fan clubs dedicated to finding the ugliest versions at bakeries. They’re named after the frog Kaj from an old children’s show.

image

I have a strong suspicion some Dane saw a Prinsesstårta and thought “If I added eyes and a mouth…”

OP you can't just say this and then not show us the really ugly ones

ghostingthespace asked:

you got any hip stretches?

fucking-relax answered:

ive been tryna hype myself to make a reminder for months after my stage 2 of physical therapy, which are repetitions to build up the muscles for steady improvement but aren’t the best for immediate relief

so for about 15 minutes, i remixed My Happy Place (the base of my current meditation setup) and Hips & Glutes stretch to wake up and then target muscles, respectively

three stretches for 60 seconds with note to extend all parts of the spine, focus on the tailbone for hips. 1 is like a mermaid pose with hips planted to ground and fully extended arms along the side of the stretched up torso. 2 is like a kowtow with legs folded under and back bowed but arms extended far forward. 3 is a like a fetal position but on your back with folded legs held to chest and ankles relaxed.ALT
six hips and glutes stretches with original note to hold for 30 seconds each on one side then repeat for the other. 1 my note is its difficult but wakens muscles; it looks like a sprinter's starting position with one leg extended back and the other bent 90 degrees forward, arms braced on either side of the forward leg. 2 my note is it felt best; it is a squat with knees pointed to the side and hands pressed together with elbows level to knees. 3 my note is its okay; a spinal twist from a seated position on the floor with one leg extended and the other bent up and crossed over the extended leg while the torso twists to face the leg-folded side. 4 my note is that hold feels different from reps; it's a typical bridge pose with shoulders and feet planted and hands extended but more arch when the hips are brought up. 5 my note is its confusing but good; starting from laying down on the floor, bring one knee up to chest and fold head forward (towards chest feels better than towards knee). 6 my note is its amazing; knees bent, one leg will cross over the thigh to create a 4-like shape and hold-grab the leg that still has a foot pointing forward and gently bring your legs closer to your chest.ALT

i have several more tabs to experiment with and i want to organize my own Reminder for Rotation based on what could be done if lying down is an option or not, but i fear i will forget even if i save this as a draft. and besides! above relaxed my stiff and sore hips so fucking good

fucking-relax

i believe the earlier stuff i shared is best for beginners cause fuck the Tight Hips is so fucking hard; that one i had to modify to keep my balance and while it feels odd in the body, it's easier to follow if you focus on one leg before switching. Sleep Prep was more of a broad application of the whole body from top to bottom, but i feel affirmed how it has my favs for hips

Tight Hips exercise program of 9 poses with instructions to hold each pose for 30 seconds then move on to the next one. Repeat the sequence again on the other side. 1, my note "reset": legs are spread far apart with feet pointing forward, body is bent forward at the hips with hands clasped behind the back. 2 and 3, my note "modify to keep stretch in hips and thighs": the same squat with knees pointed to side with hands pressed together in front, that shifts to one leg straight off to the side with heel down and toes up. 4 and 5, my note "felt so fucking hard": same sprinter starting position with back leg straight and balanced on toes, that transitions so back leg is as flat to the floor as possible while torso goes from crouched to curving upwards. 6, my note "reset pt 2": same kowtow position. 7, my note "relax": same fetal position on back. 8, my note "this one is popular": same 4-shaped leg hold on back. 9, my note "reset pt 3": same laying down spinal twist, picture is of the other side than leg used but keeping used leg on upper side is better stretch.ALT
Sleep Prep workout of 9 poses with instructions to hold each pose for 60 seconds or 30 seconds per side then move on to the next one. There is an additional note from me how the exercise focuses from top to bottom of the body. 1, my note "neck/back": from a cross-legged sitting position, a hand over the head gently pulls it towards the elbow to stretch the neck. 2, my note "torso muscles": same kowtow stretch. 3, my note "torso joints", shoulder-spinal twist where one arm threads under the body to stretch towards the other side; hips are kept up in the air. 4 and 5, my note "spine - cat cow": from all fours, first the back is curved like a spooked cat, then the back is arched like a swaybacked cow. 6, my note "superman": from laying down on belly, arms and shoulders are stretched backwards to lift the upper torso off the ground. 7 and 8, my note "my favs": same 4-shaped leg hold and laying down spinal twist. 9, my note "blood leaves feet": L shaped with back on floor and legs up in the air.ALT

after the tight hips exercise, i had instinctively gone into the stretch that was my go-to in childhood after hurting my joints (so, daily) and then i realized i had a hip stretch in me all along: the Butterfly

wikihow art of a cycle that starts sitting upright with legs extended forward, then feet pressed together and pulled towards hips, and then a slight lean forward of the torso.ALT

that shit is amazing when anything from upper back to above knees hurts
