Angry green colored anaconda protecting its eggs OMG

OMG video of amazingly big angry anaconda which is Green in color is not happy with humans while it is protecting the eggs. Anacondas are usually 9 ft long and can be dangerous to deal with. Kudos to this guy who is risking his life and showing us what is it like to work with such a gorgeous creature.

I've been watching the serie of Crime Scene Wild, and the Big Cats episode yesterday made me confused. As much as I want to go something to help saving the animals, reality struck and I don't know what to think anymore.
There're questions that I can't answer by myself. I've asked a few friends of mine, and they can't help me either, so I wonder if anyone can help. Just reading is good enough, I just want to know what others think about the subject.

My daughter sent out an e-mail to her friends and fellow athletes in fastpitch- I told her I'd post this to LJ. It concerns the wildlife sanctuary here on Beech Mountain, which has a new home at Eagle's Nest, and two wolves donated to them by Animal Control. They need to raise money for wolf-proof fencing of a quarter acre habitat. It will cost them roughly $7000. So, if you have a dollar, or even two...

The latest version of Google Earth, 5.0, includes "Google Ocean," which allows you to explore the ocean floor around the world, up to and including the Mariana Trench.

There's plenty of info on oceanic biology for those interested, but for a geology buff like myself it has a beautiful rendering of the ocean floor too.

Hi All-

I received a few messages that there was a spammer in the community but I can't find the posts now. Has it been taken care of? I apologize for not being able to respond sooner; I don't have internet access at home and it's monitored at work.

Speaking of work, saw a long-tailed weasel run across a pathway on Sunday :)

I just found this little guy on our patio. Not sure if he is in shock or dying of illness/poisoning. He can only keep one eye open. I have no idea what species he is, but I would guess he's some kind of sparrow or finch. I am currently trying to stabilize him (wrapped in towel, carrier cage over heating pad) before I try to transport him to a vet.

I share my home with parrots and rehabed wild birds...

Sperm whales were the most sought-after catches by whaling ships because over a third of their volume is oil. A sperm whale's nose alone carries 150 gallons of it. Their oil was used to lubricate delicate machinery and for whalers it was literally worth its weight in gold.

I'm strongly for ecology conservation. I'm a Sierra Club member among other things. So don't take this the wrong way:

Lately I've been seeing a lot of celebrities asking me to help save the polar bears. They tell me that the ice is melting which is taking away their habitat and their hunting grounds.

That's when it occurred to me... these are the same celebrities that used to ask me to help save baby seals...

Which makes me wonder... do these celebrities realize what polar bears eat?

...I'm just sayin'. :)
