Patroller[edit]

Hey, Gigi! You've been making a lot of helpful edits lately, so how would you like to become a patroller? As a patroller, you'll be able to mark edits as patrolled, and also mark possible featurement candidates as Good. You'll also be treated to a purple username on Special:RecentChanges and a shiny gold medal on your userpage. Is this something you're interested in? --YFJ (talk · edits) 18:38, 30 March 2020 (UTC)

Oh, yes, sure thing! I would love to! :) Gigi (talk) 19:07, 30 March 2020 (UTC)
All right then! You are now a patroller! Purple names and gold medals coming shortly! You also should have access to the staff chat on Shiver Star; let me know if you don't. --YFJ (talk · edits) 19:19, 30 March 2020 (UTC)
Thank you! And it looks like I don't have access to that chat as of right now, or I can't find it. Gigi (talk) 19:30, 30 March 2020 (UTC)

OGG versus OGA[edit]

Hello

While OGG is a possible format for the file itself, it is discouaged by the designer of OGG itself--Xiph.org. Most easily sourced (and horribly formatted) from the RFC,

While this document does redefine the earlier definition of
application/ogg, this media type will continue to embrace the widest
net possible of content with the video/ogg and audio/ogg types being
smaller subsets of it. However, the video/ogg and audio/ogg types
take precedence in a subset of the usages, specifically when serving
multimedia content that is not complex enough to warrant the use of
application/ogg. Following this line of thought, the audio/ogg type
is an even smaller subset within video/ogg, as it is not intended to
  refer to visual content.
As such, the application/ogg type is the recommended choice to serve
content aimed at scientific and other applications that require
various multiplexed signals or streams of continuous data, with or
without scriptable control of content. For bitstreams containing
visual, timed text, and any other type of material that requires a
visual interface, but that is not complex enough to warrant serving
under application/ogg, the video/ogg type is recommended. In
situations where the Ogg bitstream predominantly contains audio data
(lyrics, metadata, or cover art notwithstanding), it is recommended
  to use the audio/ogg type.

In short, despite the fact that ogg can be used as a name, it has been redefined and requested to become more specific in its naming. OGG should generally, if possible, be formatted as OGA or OGV where appropriate. This is essentially done as a practicality and formality. For a small history, I have a small section on here on my user page. I can give more details if required, but I strongly suggest that OGA be used as the main extension furthermore. Trig - (talk) 21:25, 5 April 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for the explanation. I will be honest, I personally started using OGG for audio formats because pretty much all audio files here use that, and I wasn't aware of its implications. Furthermore, I reverted your two changes mostly for consistency, not because I disagree: if OGA is a better choice for audio, it better be used for all audio files that current use OGG, not just a couple.
I will forward this to the rest of the staff to see what they think too, but I don't see why anyone would be against the change. Then we can hopefully change all current audio files from OGG to OGA and encourage people to use it in the future instead. Regardless, I'll keep you updated. Gigi (talk) 00:09, 6 April 2020 (UTC)
Thanks. Since there's still approximately 9 japanese file names I'd like to move, should I wait until OGA is determined, or go ahead and move them to english name (thing).oga? If you need more descriptions, feel free to ask on here or on discord. Thanks! Trig - (talk) 01:15, 6 April 2020 (UTC)

Sandbox[edit]

If I'm not mistaken, I can create sandbox by simply creating page with User:Superbound/Sandbox, right? (asking because i'm not so sure) Superbound (talk) 16:14, 24 May 2020 (UTC)

Yeah, that would be a subpage of your userpage, and they can be named anything (but of course follow the policy). —Viperision (talk) 16:19, 24 May 2020 (UTC)
Thanks a lot! Superbound (talk) 16:21, 24 May 2020 (UTC)
Yup yup, as Viperision said. In fact, thanks for giving this quick answer, heh. Gigi (talk) 16:43, 24 May 2020 (UTC)

Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition[edit]

The game is referred to without a colon symbol during the credits of New Challenge Stages, as seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PKLvVgauusOwencrazyboy17 (talk) 19:07, 29 July 2020 (UTC)

Well then the whole wiki is using the wrong name. I was adding those because that's the name of the article and how every mention of it I've seen in the wiki has been. Personally, I don't care much if it has a colon or not, but I do want consistency. Gigi (talk) 19:11, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
Can also confirm through the manual that it's consistently "Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition" with no colon. StrawberryChan (talk) 21:04, 29 July 2020 (UTC)

Greetings. We do not typically delete accounts here on WiKirby, but we can make this account inaccessible by permablocking it, so nobody can use it again. Is this what you want? --Samwell (talk) 18:40, 25 December 2020 (UTC)

We would not allow such a thing, nor would it matter, since accounts are free. If you do not want to be here anymore, you could either just leave it, or we will block it. Up to you. --Samwell (talk) 19:01, 25 December 2020 (UTC)
I will just stay here since I am a Kirby fan —Preceding unsigned comment added by Frisky Girl (talkcontribs) . Please always sign your comments by typing ~~~~!
Alright. Just one thing though. You seem to be using the unsigned template I put on your first post to sign your comments. This is not necessary. All you have to do to sign your comment is to type four tildes in a row at the end of your post, like this → ~~~~. --Samwell (talk) 19:12, 25 December 2020 (UTC)
I just do not know how to sign comments Frisky Girl (talk)14:15, 25 December 2020 (Canadian hour)
Well now you do, since you just did it. Cheers. --Samwell (talk) 19:16, 25 December 2020 (UTC)

Colored Names[edit]

Hi. I was wondering how to get a different colored or different fonted signatures. Is it solely for staff? Thank you. Kawasaki'sBiggestFan (talk) 00:16, 30 April 2021 (UTC)

This is not restricted to staff. There's a bit of a technical side to this, but if you look on my own signature code, you might get a general idea of how to do it. Mainly, for the font I use <span style="font family: 'Delfino'"> and for the color, I use <span style="color: #0a0">. You can put another font in the place of "Delfino" on the first tag, and the three digits following the # on the second tag represent the hex code for a color (in my case, lime), and you can look up the hex code for the color you want and replace the digits with those. Hope this helps! --YFJ (talk · edits) 00:27, 30 April 2021 (UTC)

How to create User Page[edit]

Hey Gigi, how do I get permission to edit my user page?

Hey Gigi, how do I get permission to edit my user page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by RedsterTheGamer (talkcontribs) . Please always sign your comments by typing ~~~~!

Hey there. I'm not Gigi, but to create your user page, you have to make five edits to the wiki and have an account for 24 hours first. The latter's already done, but you'll be good to go if you make one more edit to the wiki.
Also, please remember to always sign your comments by typing ~~~~. -- Jellytost (talk) 04:16, 5 June 2021 (UTC)
You need to be autoconfirmed to create pages, which is 1 day + 5 edits. So you just need one more edit on any page to create your userpage. –Wiz (talk · edits) 04:17, 5 June 2021 (UTC)

Autopatrolled status[edit]

Hello Gigi.

So, what exactly is the autopatrolled status? How can I get it? Have I already shown good editing spirit enough to be autopatrolled? Maybe even a patroller rank would be too high, but is it possible that I can be autopatrolled? I mean, like, you can be autopatrolled on the first day of editing, and my account is 6 months now. Is being an autopatrolled user good for me or too high? If I cannot earn it yet, I understand, but please just explain in good detail what an autopatrolled user can do compared to autoconfirmed ones. Thanks!

Altendo 03:05, 15 July 2021 (UTC)

Hoy. I am not Gigi, but I am also a bureaucrat, and I regularly handle promotions to Autopatrol, so allow me to answer your question.
Fundamentally, being in Autopatrol means that your edits are automatically marked as "Patrolled" by the wiki, which means that we no longer need to manually patrol them. To "patrol" an edit means to confirm that you have seen an edit and approve it, which is the primary responsibility of Patrollers and above. As such, when a user has all their edits patrolled automatically, it implies that they have shown consistent good faith in editing, and we trust such users to that extent. Additionally, here on WiKirby specifically, Autopatrol users are given permission to vote on proposals that affect wiki policy, and as you might imagine, are the first step up WiKirby's Cursus Honorum, with the following steps being Patroller, Moderator, Administrator, and finally Bureaucrat.
I've had a look at your editing history, and seen that you've recently joined the Discord as well, and I think you are well on your way to attaining Autopatrol status. However, I come from a school that discourages people from asking for promotions regarding volunteer work, as it might suggest a little too much zeal in gaining a higher rank for its own sake, rather than for the sake of the community. As such, I request that you exhibit patience, and make editing and engaging with the community in an organic matter to be your main priorities. If you do well in these areas, then future ranks will become open to you sooner or later as a result.
I hope this answers your question. I'll see you around the wiki. --Samwell (talk) 03:43, 15 July 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for the info! Altendo 03:46, 15 July 2021 (UTC)

Now my account is over 2 years old, which is far from the 1 day normal users take. Why? Altendo 15:42, 26 February 2023 (UTC)

What I MEANT was...[edit]

Just letting you know, when I was talking about the Star Rod in Smash Bros., it's on the Smash 4 page in the Items section. That fact only applies to Melee, so really the Brawl pages section on the Star Rod is ALSO incorrect. ',: | --Marx4Smash (talk) 00:43, 15 September 2021 (UTC)

By the way, if anyone finds any other errors on the Smash Bros. pages (or ANY page in general), let me or Gigi know so we can discuss changing it.--Marx4Smash (talk) 00:50, 15 September 2021 (UTC)

You are free to correct those pages then like I suggested. I'm not sure if I wasn't clear, so let me explain another way: you are free to edit the wiki and add and correct information, however it's possible someone may edit what you added after with their own additions and corrections. A wiki is the effort of multiple people. Discussions happen if there is a disagreement over edits of two users, or if a user isn't sure about something to add to a page, otherwise you're free to go ahead and edit. Use your best judgement, and I'm sure it will work. And if not, don't worry, the other editors, myself included, are here to help you, and the wiki as a whole. - Gigi (talkedits) 01:05, 15 September 2021 (UTC)

Cool.--Marx4Smash (talk) 13:13, 15 September 2021 (UTC)

Rename request[edit]

Hi Gigi, may you rename me to "User:Evie (Torchickens)" please? Thanks in advance! ^^ Evie (User:Chickasaurus) (talk) 21:00, 15 September 2021 (UTC)

Of course, and done. Enjoy your new name! - Gigi (talkedits) 22:45, 15 September 2021 (UTC)

Meme pages[edit]

hi im new here, do you think i could make pages for kirby memes, (kirbo, kirb) i dont know if it is allowed, so please respond and tell me also it wont let me make userpage i dont know if im supposed to tho SpeedOfKirb38000 (talk) 15:48, 8 March 2022 (UTC)

Hi! First, welcome to the wiki. Second, we don't cover fan content in the wiki, only official content, so we don't have any meme pages and they shouldn't be created. Lastly, to create your userpage, you need to first get autoconfirmed, which you can become once you make 5 edits and are registered for 24 hours. If you want, you can find lots of guides here to help you start editing. Hope that helps! - Gigi (talkedits) 16:52, 8 March 2022 (UTC)

Target[edit]

hi its me again! speedofkirb38000 i can't find any work to do (that i can do im on tablet) andrecently some targets have been making the litleballs in fron of the store in to kirbys! i would like to make a page on target talking about the event and i dont have permission to make the page, could you make it for me and then i fill it in SpeedOfKirb38000 (talk) 17:53, 24 March 2022 (UTC)

Sorry for not replying earlier, I was on a break to avoid Forgotten Land spoilers so I wasn't checking the wiki until recently. I see that you are now autoconfirmed and thus can create pages, but as advice, please keep our article creation policy in mind when creating new pages. As an example, a "Target" page doesn't make sense for this wiki, because it's not directly related to Kirby, but we could certainly use some sort of "Real life events" page to document them all. Since you are new to the wiki, I would advise to ask first around too before creating a page that is not currently in our wanted pages page to see if the community at large thinks it's worth creating. - Gigi (talkedits) 14:12, 6 April 2022 (UTC)

My username.[edit]

Hi. I sorta noticed that my username is a bit of a mouthful, so do you think you could change it? I heard mods can do that so i would like you to change it to Shiny_Champion. Thanks! SpeedOfKirb38000 (talk) 14:08, 23 September 2022 (UTC)

Hello. Just confirm me again that the exact spelling of "Shiny_Champion" is what you wish for your username, and I can change it for you. - Gigi (talkedits) 14:23, 23 September 2022 (UTC)

LuigiVRN628 message[edit]

Can you accept a friend request from LuigiVRN628 in Discord? We need to discuss something —Preceding unsigned comment added by LuigiVRN628 (talkcontribs) . Please always sign your comments by typing ~~~~!

Hi, I rejected your friend request before you left this message as you had no mutual servers or friends with me and I assumed it was spam.
You are free to either discuss what you want to discuss here in this talk page, in particular if it's about WiKirby. If you do really want to DM me on Discord, join WiKirby's server and message me, as anyone in the server has the permission to do so without having to friend me. - Gigi (talkedits) 07:42, 21 January 2023 (UTC)

The wiki probably isn’t the place to ask so I always wanted to ask this in discord DM’s but couldn’t find a person to talk to[edit]

but I was banned from the WiKirby discord server during May 1-2, 2021 because I kept on asking unsettling questions about making threats to people and bothering people with questions about the police despite being told not to. I had no intention to actually commit a crime or anything but I was just bothered by stupid things I did before that I'm not bothered about anymore (and I had no reason to be bothered in the first place).

If you're ok with me discussing my behavior back then here (and my specific reason for acting the way I did back then), I am willing to do so but I figured it would just be more appropriate in DMs. I did dm Tacopill (Talk) on discord a week ago about this but he hasn't gotten back to me yet.

I did join the server to intentionally cause trouble (in a different way) so I deserved the ban anyways but I felt bad about my previous actions enough that I decided to help out with the wiki to make up for my discord server behavior. If the mods here decide to unban me, I won't act the way I did before ever again but I expect that you'll say no to unbanning me because I figured I was enough of a troublemaker enough across other NIWA servers that I don't deserve a second chance.

Yoshi's Island 16:28, 31 January 2023 (UTC)

I'm not Gigi, but I can speak on this subject as one of WiKirby's bureaucrats and one of its longest-serving members. When you were banned from the Discord, there was talk about whether or not you should be thrown off the wiki as well, but ultimately those two realms are considered separate for administering purposes. Ultimately, if you want to be allowed back into the Discord, you should take some time and keep contributing to the wiki. If you seem to be making good progress, learning the ropes, and remaining on good behavior, we will consider letting you back in, but don't expect that to happen for a while.
As an aside, you probably shouldn't try to message Tacopill about WiKirby matters anymore. WiKirby has since moved away from grifkuba, so we have no further formal ties with him. As such, he should not be approached for anything relating to WiKirby. Gigi, PinkYoshiFan, or myself are the best people to talk to on that matter. Take care of yourself, and see you around the wiki. --Samwell (talk) 16:33, 31 January 2023 (UTC)

Helpers page talk[edit]

Since the talk on the Helper page is long, I decided to move the convers here. So, I'm glad you agree on MY idea of renaming the page, and I perfectley agree on this. If you wish, I could change the page for you, of you want. --IsaacBoi321 (talk) 02:52, 14 February 2023 (UTC)

You should continue the discussion there, not here. An agreement wasn't reached, so moving the page wouldn't be appropriate. A wiki is a group effort. - Gigi (talkedits) 03:03, 14 February 2023 (UTC)

Hi Gigi, Ash-Animator879 here with a discussion. I just saw an information that sometimes says "After a long absence from the Kirby series, the Jet ability returns in Kirby: Planet Robobot. It is acquired from the Capsule J3 enemy.". I was sorry for reverting the edits back without a discussion. I will agree! That can violate WiKirby's dispute policy. So, I decided this as a suggestion. Can I change it back to the way it is on this content (Kirby: Planet Robobot) in this page Jet to have. Next time, I'll assume what is was meant. Sorry for doing that without a discussion. I hope you would understand about it. Thanks for understanding. Ash-Animator879 (talk) 23:17, 1 January 2024 (UTC)

How to add a userbox[edit]

I see a lot of people's userpages have a userbox, which say things like; This user is from Germany!, or, This user's birthday is April 4th, and stuff like that. Hi, I see another staff member checked it and reverted it. It looks like you're new to the wiki, I would recommend reading over here at the very least to get an idea of how to edit here. Adding images[edit]

I’m trying to add an image for Magic points, but how would you do that? All good. Also, about images, please check Help:File uploading. Make sure you read everything because here at WiKirby we enforce image and sourcing standards. If you have any other questions, feel free to reply back. Just one last thing, make sure you sign your talk page messages with ~~~~ to add your signature, so that people know you were the one that posted that message. - Gigi (talkedits) 12:45, 7 March 2023 (UTC)

dubior's message[edit]

hey there! thank you for letting me know about having to add the sources to the images. i've been uploading them on the same page i'm editing instead of using the actual upload file page, and i didn't realize that made it so the source information fill-out doesn't show up along with it. i'm going to manually add the neccesary information to the images i've already uploaded, and i'll make sure to use the real upload file page from here on out. again, thank you for letting me know of this, i really appreciate it! A rather small question[edit]

Hello! I was just wondering, which one of the "Ripple Field" theme links is for the second Ripple Field theme from Kirby's Dream Land 3? Thanks! --Paistrie (talk) 18:06, 27 March 2023 (UTC)

Hi, if you are talking about this theme, it is Ripple Field (theme). I just saw there are also links to "Ripple Field (theme from Kirby's Dream Land 3)", but I assume that's because Ripple Field is also in Dream Land 2, but there it's a remix of Float Islands, so I don't think it's necessary to keep the game in the title. In short, if you want to create a page for it, it's best to use Ripple Field (theme). - Gigi (talkedits) 18:24, 27 March 2023 (UTC)
Okay! Thanks again, and have a nice day! :D --Paistrie (talk) 18:35, 27 March 2023 (UTC)

Need help adding audio files[edit]

So i got some audio files for the game over theme page and i can't figure out how to add the audio to the page. The closest i can get is adding the description.=== MeltanFlood (talk) 18:51, 5 April 2023 (UTC)

Hi, the file use policy page has very good examples, it focuses on images but you can apply most of those to audio. In addition, I recommend looking at the source code of other music pages to see how we use tabs in their infoboxes; the page you want to create will have a lot of audio files, so maybe take a look at Haldera Volcano (theme) for a simple example, and Kirby Dance (theme) for a bigger example. - Gigi (talkedits) 19:15, 5 April 2023 (UTC)

I apologize for that, as of now, I will be trying to liven up some articles (or try to), and my own user page, when it comes to uploading images, how would I go about telling their respective about files? -JetDee- (talk) 15:33, 04 April 2023 (UTC)

SmashWiki seems to have problems with internet trolls using ip addresses to repeatedly ban evade and vandalize[edit]

Given that many Discord servers require a phone number before you can post in them, how would it be easy to require each account and IP address here to submit sensitive personal info such as bank card numbers, drivers license or government issued ID or phone numbers in order to edit, which makes it harder for internet trolls to ban evade?

WiKirby itself wouldn’t use the data for any reason outside of logging it in a database to auto detect bans. Would it be difficult to verify info such as if bank numbers is real or something or would it result in hackers who hack into WiKirby itself gaining access to your data?

This would also ensure that if an user is banned here, then tries to edit using an IP address, the info they provide would automatically flag and ban them instead of us having to do the annoying process of detecting if they are the same user.

Yoshi's Island 14:15, 19 April 2023 (UTC)

Hello. You are voicing issues related to SmashWiki if I'm understanding correctly? In either case, on WiKirby we put measures a while ago against vandalism in the form of moderation and manual account approval, which have proved to be very effective. I don't personally see the need here to collect such personal information just to prevent a couple vandals or trolls, which here are already often prevented with the tools we have in place. If you have feedback regarding SmashWiki, I would advise to suggest to their staff instead, as that's a different wiki. - Gigi (talkedits) 14:26, 19 April 2023 (UTC)

Hello. This is less intended for feedback to SmashWiki and more of "while WiKirby itself doesn't probably attract trolls and vandals enough to need this, what issues would it pose to implement this?"

Like would it just result in false bans mostly from children who are using their parents info (children use the info, they cause enough trouble to be banned, parent is banned as well) or would somebody hacking into the system likely lead to doxxing?

That if you use Copy on a Scarfy, you'll get Crash? -JetDee- (talk) 8:31, 18 May 2023 (UTC)

This is likely not my business but I thought I should bring it to your attention[edit]

Awesomelink234 is banned on SmashWiki for this so I don’t really care if you ban her or not here but wanted to see if this is something you would ban her for.

Yoshi's Island 20:48, 10 July 2023 (UTC)

We are already aware, but thanks for bringing to my attention regardless. - Gigi (talkedits) 01:33, 14 July 2023 (UTC)

I want to make a survey for WiKirby. Which questions can I put there?[edit]

I was thinking of making users answer which country they are in (so when sporting events such as the FIFA World Cup happen), they can answer how far they predict their country will advance in the competition. Would asking which country you are in be considered too personal for people? The survey would never ask which specific region (such as New York, Alberta or Berlin) you are in, just the country.

Yoshi's Island 21:12, 13 July 2023 (UTC)

Sorry, but I don't really understand the relationship between WiKirby and sports events, or any other reason why we would want to know which country WiKirby users are from other than for curiosity. I really wouldn't be comfortable asking any sort of personal information from any user. - Gigi (talkedits) 01:35, 14 July 2023 (UTC)
I just wanted neutral topics as a survey and figured that sporting events would be a good way to start but wanted to know what subjects should a survey be about.
Yoshi's Island 03:04, 14 July 2023 (UTC)
We already have User:Kirb/Survey which I see you filled so you are aware of. Why do you believe we need yet another survey for editors? - Gigi (talkedits) 14:06, 14 July 2023 (UTC)
I felt like making my own survey but probably should just suggest new ones instead.

About NoRedLink referencing Super Smash Bros.[edit]

Why is this a Kirby reference in particular? It seems more like a direct reference to Super Smash Bros and is barely a direct reference to the Kirby series. Therefore, I see it as something that should go on SmashWiki instead of WiKirby.

Is it because getting Super Smash Bros. makes Kirby a selectable option for a question or something? Yoshi's Island 01:36, 22 August 2023 (UTC)

Kirby is, you know, a character from the Kirby series. Referencing Kirby is refering the Kirby series. Even if there is Smash Bros. involved, it's still referencing Kirby.
I will admit I don't know that game, so I'm just going with the wording of what was written, but from what I understand that reference includes Kirby, so it's a Kirby reference. But next time, please discuss this in the page's talk page, it's more appropriate. - Gigi (talkedits) 01:43, 22 August 2023 (UTC)

Kirby and the Search for the Dreamy Gears![edit]

Hello! I started to work on the page for Kirby and the Search for the Dreamy Gears!. Samwell asked me to update you about that. I work on it in my sandbox. -SilvTheGrape (talk) 16:48, 29 September 2023 (UTC)

Shouldn’t we upload system buttons?[edit]

The same way MarioWiki has them, this would make explaining controls easier especially for Nintendo Switch titles. Yoshi's Island 19:50, 28 November 2023 (UTC)

I know someone once started a template like that but never finished. Honestly, not sure where that stands right now. Not opposed to it, though. - Gigi (talkedits) 01:12, 29 November 2023 (UTC)

Shouldn’t there be an User NIWA template or would it just be unneccessary?[edit]

Types[edit]

I put the element of the copy ability in the type section, because I saw that other copy ability pages have it. I did not know why only some of the pages had it, so I'm sorry for putting those on Wing and Beam pages. I can delete all the other elements on the other copy ability pages, if you wish. Please forgive me. This was a mistake of mine. I'm truly sorry, hope you're not mad. - IsaacBoi

Hi, sorry for the late reply. Yeah, there was some confusion about the usage of that infobox parameter but it's been clarified and made consistent across pages now. - Gigi (talkedits) 16:33, 5 January 2024 (UTC)

About Image Optimizing[edit]

Hi, I'm planning to optimize/compress image and upload it there i'm just wondering it is allowed here? Since my recent contributions was not that good. BRZ (talk) 22:47, 13 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi, yes, it depends on the image and how you do it. Per what is written in WiKirby:Image standards, we allow lossless compression, as in, there's no quality lost for the image. The bottom of the main page of the wiki has a "Recommended downloads" sections that lists some programs you can use to do that. - Gigi (talkedits) 19:48, 14 January 2024 (UTC)
Sorry for late reply, also yes i realized that but i use different compress image program and i would like send screenshot of my compress image to you and then when it is really compressed without any problems i can upload it to there but unfortunately i can't send screenshot to you. BRZ (talk) 22:42, 14 January 2024 (UTC)
Do you have a Discord account? If so, it may be easier to join the WiKirby server and share that there. - Gigi (talkedits) 22:46, 14 January 2024 (UTC)

About adding photos...[edit]

Hi Gigi! I'm new to this wiki, and I can't figure out how to add photos to a page on an ios device. I wanted to now if there's a way to do it on ios or if I needed to do it on a computer, thanks in advance! Poyo22 (talk) 00:39, 11 February 2024 (UTC)

Hi there. First of all, you will need to be autoconfirmed, which you can be once you do 5 total edits in the wiki and have been registered for 24 hours. After that, please check this guide to see how to do that. I personally have never uploaded images from a phone, but I know some editors who almost exclusively edit on phones, but I'm not sure if they do on iOS or Android. So, sadly, I don't know the answer to that question, but I believe you should be able to? Regardless, at least know that WiKirby has a high standard for everything, including pictures, so at least keep that in mind when you upload pictures. - Gigi (talkedits) 00:45, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
Okay, thanks for responding! Poyo22 (talk) 17:03, 12 February 2024 (UTC)

Cropped image question[edit]

Hello Gigi, this is Poyo22, and I noticed that under the policy for screenshots it says that pixel based Kirby game screenshots have to be "pixel perfect", I wasn't exactly sure what that meant, and if it means that cropped images are allowed? I was going to upload a cropped screenshot of Kirby using Rising Break in KatAM. Temporal Warrior, Poyo22 (talk) 21:13, 3 April 2024 (UTC)

Hi, pixel-perfect basically means that for sprite games we ask the images to be on their original resolution. For example, this image is pixel perfect. Basically we don't want "blurry" images of sprite based games. You are free to crop screenshots if they are pixel perfect, although often for sprite games we prefer if you could upload the sprites themselves (no big deal if you can't, though). - Gigi (talkedits) 21:25, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
Okay, thanks, I took the screenshot on my Switch using NSO, so it should be fine. Temporal Warrior, Poyo22 (talk) 21:28, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
Alright, so, the image you uploaded was not pixel perfect. It was extremely big and blurry. You should look at other screenshots from sprite based games to compare them to the image you uploaded. For a simpler way to put it I guess, jpg images can never be pixel perfect, they need to be pngs. - Gigi (talkedits) 21:49, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
Oh, I'm sorry, I'll see if I can get a better image, and thanks for your help! Temporal Warrior, Poyo22 (talk) 21:55, 3 April 2024 (UTC)

Nevermind, I don't think I can take a photo that isn't blurry from my Switch and send it to my device, and I don't have another method, sorry. Temporal Warrior, Poyo22 (talk) 22:06, 3 April 2024 (UTC)

No worries, I appreciate your willingness to try and learn about the wiki policies! - Gigi (talkedits) 22:26, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
Do you happen to know a way to take high resolution pictures on a Switch and bring them to a device that can upload them? Temporal Warrior, Poyo22 (talk) 23:19, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
Unfortunately I am not aware myself of ways to do that. I'm going to ask in our Discord if anyone knows anything about it. You can also join our server if you want (but not mandatory). - Gigi (talkedits) 23:26, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
Hi! I'm not Gigi, but I have heard that taking a screenshot from a docked switch instead of handheld has better image quality. Try doing that instead. Best of luck! ~☆Starvoid☆ (t · c) 23:32, 3 April 2024 (UTC)

File sourcing question[edit]

Hello, are audio files sourced from Internet Archive allowed? I'm trying to upload a Candy Mountain KSSU file that I downloaded from there in an m4a format before converting to mp3 and doing the necessary edits. Thanks in advance. Temporal Warrior, Poyo22 (talk) 21:56, 10 June 2024 (UTC)

Damage numbers[edit]

Do the damage numbers in Super Kirby Clash display the actual damage dealt or it is multiplied by 10? Fernandez0907 (talk) 01:01, 14 June 2024 (UTC)

I don't know. And why are you asking this in so many different places? - Gigi (talkedits) 01:15, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
You said you could datamine, so what about you check the game's code if the damage is displayed is real or just the number multiplied? Fernandez0907 (talk) 02:40, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
It's not as easy as you make it sound. I can datamine certain things from certain games, sure, but even if I could extract the code of SKC (I can't), I would need to then find where in the code they decide what to display, and then interpret said code to come up with a conclusion that would answer your question. Which is why I said I don't know. And again, why did you ask this in so many different talk pages before coming to mine? - Gigi (talkedits) 02:43, 16 June 2024 (UTC)

"why did you ask this in so many different talk pages before coming to mine?" I didn't got a response in those talk pages. Sorry, i just wanted a response. Fernandez0907 (talk) 11:42, 16 June 2024 (UTC)

Artwork-based Question[edit]

So, in the infobox for Hyness, it uses concept artwork. I was wondering if that would mean that the concept artwork for any enemy, if it matches the final design, is allowed to be used in an infobox as artwork? For one example, on the left of the Como concept art, there are front and back images of Como that match the current design. Would they be considered usable for the infobox (if cropped and uploaded separately)? Thanks in advance. ParabonesBandit (talk) 18:52, 31 July 2024 (UTC)

If you mean the 3D renders, that should be fine, as they are essentially official 3D renders. For concept art in general, I think Hyness is the only exception right now, but I would avoid it in general in infoboxes unless absolutely needed. - Gigi (talkedits) 21:49, 31 July 2024 (UTC)
Alright, thanks! ParabonesBandit (talk) 23:48, 31 July 2024 (UTC)

About HAL Room credits link[edit]

My reason for its removal is that the link is red and it goes nowhere.

Why re-add a broken link? Elijah (talk) 17:07, 12 October 2024 (UTC)

Red links do not mean that something is broken, but rather incomplete. They are a natural wiki phenomenon. The page is planned to exist, and when it does, the red link will simply turn blue, as opposed to someone needing to add the link everywhere they can as soon as the page is created. This is a good explanation of the reasoning. ShadowKirby (t/c) a.k.a. your new overlord ShadowMagolor 09:38, 13 October 2024 (UTC)

If you mean create the page with what you have in your draft, no, that's not quite enough. That page hasn't been created yet because it will be a fairly long page. You are welcome to continue working in your draft and, when it's finished, we can move it to mainspace. You can see here for an official list of drafts we have, to see how some may be long and almost complete, but they are still drafts. About Sandbox[edit]

Hi again, I'm planning to create a sandbox on my user page similar to how you do it, I want to know what are do's and don'ts so I'II tell you what sections i will add to it or the page BRZ (talk page)

Hi! So honestly sandboxes are pretty lax in the content they can have, as they are userspace and often draft for pages, so it's not as restrict as mainspace is. You can find some rules here, but if you use sandboxes for drafting pages, honestly you should be fine, but make sure you aren't starting a draft that already exists; you can find a list of existing drafts here. Hope that helps, and if you have any other questions, feel free to ask. - Gigi (talkedits) 01:38, 22 February 2025 (UTC)

Can i use it for experiment and other tests with it? (like templates such as Babel also known as BBL-UBX in mariowiki, modules (if allowed for modules) and etc) BRZ (talk) 09:34, 22 February 2025 (UTC)

Sure, I don't see why not. - Gigi (talkedits) 12:55, 22 February 2025 (UTC)

before i can start i am allowed to use templates or modules from wikipedia or mariowiki? BRZ (talk) 14:06, 22 February 2025 (UTC)

I will admit I am not the most knowledgeable with how that works but it's mostly a matter of the licenses matching up with this wiki. - Gigi (talkedits) 16:51, 23 February 2025 (UTC)

By the way, i also forget to say that are creating Kirby games, animations, screensavers (Flash animation) or other (such as microsites) for Adobe Flash or HTML5 (published or developed by Nintendo / HAL Laboratory or 4Kids?) pages are allowed? (planning to add in sandbox, also sorry for bothering you many times, i just wanted to be sure and avoid doing mistakes and always ask for staff before doing editing in here.) BRZ (talk) 19:24, 23 February 2025 (UTC)

Sorry, not sure if I fully understand. Do you mean you are going to recreate official flash games in HTML5 and put them in the wiki? - Gigi (talkedits) 21:41, 23 February 2025 (UTC)

No, i meant creating Kirby games (Both Adobe Flash and HTML5), animations, screensavers pages in my sandbox (like Waddle Doom (Adobe Flash game), Color Kirby! (HTML5 game), Kirby Air Ride Ecard (Possibly flash animation as didn't look at that yet), Kirby 64 Website (Flash microsite) and Kirby's Airride Screensaver (Screensaver but category is Flash animations that i see in flashpoint) not recreating flash games in HTML5 and put them here... BRZ (talk) 03:52, 24 February 2025 (UTC)

Honestly I am more concerned if they are official or not. As outlined in the policies I linked, anything that is basically fan content like fan animations or fan games is disallowed. In theory, if you were talking about emulating existing official games like the ones you listed, that's another thing, but personally I don't think we need it and I also don't think that's possible in the wiki itself. So in short, best not to. - Gigi (talkedits) 15:33, 24 February 2025 (UTC)

Hello![edit]

Uh...hi, I'm new around here, I would just like to know when I could start making new pages, as it currently won't let me... —Preceding unsigned comment added by -MothKnight- (talkcontribs) . Please always sign your comments by typing ~~~~!

Hi there, welcome to WiKirby! I recommend you to go over our policies. Specifically about creating pages, you need to be autoconfirmed before you can create any, please see here on our Ranks page. Do keep in mind though that creating a new page is a big responsibility, so I recommend you to start small, editing existing pages and familiarizing with our content and policies (that's one of the reasons you need to be autoconfirmed to be able to create pages). If you do decide to create pages however, make sure you follow our article creation policy and it's preferable you create a page that is already a red link, so basically pages here. Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions. - Gigi (talkedits) 21:43, 24 February 2025 (UTC)

That sounds amazing! Also, side note(ish), when I met creating pages, I meant my own Userpage, but I guess it'd be normal if you thought about more pages, I'll focus on those later, anyways, thank you! -MothKnight- (talk) 18:57, 25 February 2025 (UTC)

New Device[edit]

Hey Gigi! Hope you've been doing well. Wasn't sure whether to post this on the device talk page or here but figured you may be more likely to see it here. Been working on another device article, User:Evankacp/Giant Pendulum. I think it should be good and ready but just wanted to run it by you first like we talked about last time. Also, in the future as I make more articles, what is generally the best course to get it reviewed before publishing? You were the main one I was talking to over on the device page so figured I'd go through here this time. Is it usually best to make a post on an admins talk page like this or would there be another better route? Let me know and also let me know your thoughts on the pendulum page and if you think it's ready to move over to the mainspace. Thank you! Evankacp (talk) 21:20, 25 February 2025 (UTC)

Hi! It looks good, I will take a closer look later. For your question though, if you have a Discord account, it would be helpful to join WiKirby's Discord server (find info here) and you can post there in a wiki channel and more people will see it. Otherwise, asking me or other staff members works too, but I feel soon enough you may be able to create them without having to check with us, but I appreciate how through you're being about this. - Gigi (talkedits) 00:56, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Hey! I may be able to join there at some point, probably will just be on here for now but I may in the future as I do enjoy the site a lot and the community. And yeah I honestly do feel I'm getting a lot better at making the articles even if I'm only on my second. Last time you mentioned that early on you'd like me to check before publishing each time so just wanna make sure I'm doing my due diligence but also yeah if you'd eventually be okay with me making some small ones without checking I'd be cool doing that. I do appreciate the help especially starting though as you and ShadowKirby both have made some really helpful edits and taught me some more kinda basics that'll help me going forward. ShadowKirby went ahead and changed a table I had into a template earlier which was very helpful, I believe everything else in the article is looking good so once you lmk I'll go ahead and publish it. Thanks again! Evankacp (talk) 15:48, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Hey Gigi! So I had ShadowKirby review the page and we both think it looks all good but the one final snag we hit is the reference for the japanese name. It is from the Kirby: Triple Deluxe Perfect Support Guide but we are not sure of the page number. I know you have your page listing gimmicks and their names and all, and one of them is Giant Pendulum from said guide. Would you happen to know the page number? I was going to check myself but wasn't sure where to find the guide and didn't wanna use any sort of incorrect source. Thank you! Evankacp (talk) 21:11, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
I've added the page, I own a couple Japanese Kirby guidebooks so you are free to ask me to look over stuff for them. As for the draft, it should be ready for mainspace now, just make sure to after moving it to link it probably in device and in the pages of the stages it appears in at the very least, to make sure the page isn't orphaned. Thanks for the patience, yesterday I was quite busy myself and couldn't do much for the wiki. - Gigi (talkedits) 22:24, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
Great, thanks so much! And will do! I don't mind honestly going and doing the tedious stuff of like going and linking to pages and all, I honestly really like the research part of this stuff. For an object that doesnt have a page yet or a consistent name across the wiki, its hard to just search for what levels it may be in so I looked through every single stage map we have of every level with hypernova in Triple Deluxe. Did the same for the snowman head for both games too and that was especially hard cause there are a lot of levels with robobot armor and I wanted to at least glance at all of them as so not to miss anything. Just a random tangent I know but it's been fun for me to have to do like overly complicated research for a single small page haha. It sounds insane lol but idk something about it is just fun for me and I'm really enjoying making and editing articles here in general so thanks again for all your help. Will go ahead and move it over now and start linking. Thanks again and let me know if there's anything else you need help with! (and sorry again for the other day, I do get a bit too antsy sometimes haha I will be more patient for sure). Evankacp (talk) 15:35, 28 February 2025 (UTC)

In regards to uploading new images[edit]

Wait, before you jump to anything, just hear me out. So, I use a art app named Krita, I think you've heard of it, not sure. So, regarding the File Uploading page, I probably haven't read it entirely, so this could be a waste of time. Getting to the point, I plan to draw (very low quality) some art to add to my User Page, but if I were to upload a .png file from Krita, how would I upload it if I cannot directly tell the source? AGAIN; I could be thinking this wrong HORRIBLY, and might find the solution later. I'll reply if I do, but in the meantime, could you help me, please? Once again, I apologize if this entire thing ends up being a waste of time, as I kinda covered this in my first message, hehe. -MothKnight- (talk) 05:06, 27 February 2025 (UTC)

Hi, I'm not Gigi but I can answer since she'll likely only be on in a few hours; as indicated on {{Aboutfile}}, 'For images captured/created by yourself, enter "self" instead' in the source parameter; from what I understand, this applies in your case. On that note, don't forget to note "user" in the 'type'/'type2' parameter and your username in the 'user' parameter. Hope this clears it up! ShadowKirby (t/c) a.k.a. your new overlord ShadowMagolor 05:23, 27 February 2025 (UTC)

Giant Snowman Variant[edit]

Hey Gigi. I was just asking ShadowKirby about this but he said you may be a better person to go to for it specifically as you have a lot of knowledge about official titles for things and all. I am working on a page for Giant Snowman but I'm a bit confused on one thing. On the Device page it is listed as appearing in both Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot. However, the version in Planet Robobot appears to be a bit different. They are bare metal heads when you first find them and you have to both freeze them again and then also bring them to their bodies. However, the bodies are also slightly different, being made of ice cream instead of snow. I have some images in the article's gallery of both kinds. Do you think this requires an entirely new page or, what I was thinking may be best, just adding a variant section to the article? They both serve almost the exact same function but are just moved in different ways depending on the game and have a visual difference. If we did split them we'd also have to add the variant as a new device in the device page itself. I feel it may be simpler overall to just have a section about it as a variant, or even just in the normal section about it's appearance in Robobot mentioning that it's visual look just happens to be different in this game but that it serves the same purpose and does essentially the same thing, like I said just visual differences and differences in movement. Hope that makes sense, thank you. Evankacp (talk) 19:21, 27 February 2025 (UTC)

This is a discussion I would also invite you to start with other editors at large. Generally things that are more complicated are good to be discussed with a good number of people just to make sure there are no biases at play. And there is also the snowmen that appear in KRtDL to consider as well, as they are also similar. It appears their Japanese names are different, but I agree that they are functionally different. One thing to note too: the device page as of right now is pending a revamp, so it's actually very possible that things listed there could be changed or whatnot. It's very likely that in the past someone took the liberty to group them together without thinking too hard, but now that we are going to make device pages it's good to wonder if it makes sense to group or keep separate. In other words: maybe start a talk page discussion (it can be in the draft you started) and people can also discuss it there. We did discuss this briefly on Discord already and there was already a bit of a split of opinions, so I want to make sure we discuss this properly before moving forward. - Gigi (talkedits) 22:29, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
Ok no worries, I'll start a discussion there. Thank you for reminding me about the ones in Return to Dreamland, I honestly forgot about those, even if they are a bit different. Definitely is more complicated of a matter than I first realized haha, so many snowmen and snow bodies running around. Anyway I'll start a discussion over there and thank you for your thoughts! Minor question btw that I've wondered a few times, sometimes I've thought about starting a discussion on a draft of mine for something like this but I've wondered how anyone would end up seeing it? Like if it's just a little userpage that I'm working on myself that people may not know exists, how would any edits or discussion be shown to people to then look into and join in? Hope that makes sense, just was wondering that. Thank you! Evankacp (talk) 15:43, 28 February 2025 (UTC)

Rename Request[edit]

Oops, should ask the rename request here on the talkpage instead. Can I request a username change from EleCyon (old name) to "CyonOfGaia" (no quotations) for consistency with my other usernames on other websites (eg. Mario Wiki)? Thanks very much. --  (profile ::: talk) 01:53, 28 February 2025 (UTC)

Contacting[edit]

Is there any way that i can contact you other than discord? which i don't have so i can easily ask you first before doing any edits here... BRZ (talk) 10:07, 1 March 2025 (UTC)

Not really, is there any reason why you don't have a Discord account? - Gigi (talkedits) 02:54, 2 March 2025 (UTC)

(sorry for late) While i have discord account i'm very inactive on it that's why i said "no" in the "About Image Optimizing" subject and i also don't join servers for some reason BRZ (talk) 17:01, 5 March 2025 (UTC)

Okay, I'm now active on Discord now what I need to do? Join WiKirby discord server or add you on discord? BRZ (talk) 08:13, 16 March 2025 (UTC)

It's best you enter the WiKirby server since that way anyone can help you, not necessarily me. See here. - Gigi (talkedits) 13:51, 16 March 2025 (UTC)

Okay, I joined the server... BRZ (talk) 17:36, 16 March 2025 (UTC)

Can i have a "Right To Vanish" here in WiKirby?[edit]

Already had my Wikipedia account vanished. Fernandez0907 (talk) 18:14, 1 March 2025 (UTC)

What do you mean? I don't understand what you are asking. - Gigi (talkedits) 02:54, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
If I’m not mistaken, this typically means that the account has its userpages deleted, is permanently banned and renamed to a generic “deleted user” name or something similar. I would be happy to accommodate your request if you confirm that this is what you want to do. -YFJ (talk · edits) 03:48, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
This is what I assumed, but I asked to be sure on how exactly they want it done. And don't worry, I can handle what they ask, since in particular depending what it is, I would like to see if we allow. - Gigi (talkedits) 03:56, 2 March 2025 (UTC)

It is possible to vanish accounts here on WiKirby? Fernandez0907 (talk) 19:30, 2 March 2025 (UTC)

Do you want that to happen to your account? And if so, like I asked, how exactly would you like to "vanish"? - Gigi (talkedits) 19:33, 2 March 2025 (UTC)

Besides anonymization, having my personal information removed from WiKirby. Fernandez0907 (talk) 23:24, 2 March 2025 (UTC)

Hi, I am Ampera, and I handle the backend admin for WiKirby. This is a request we are happy to accommodate. We do not keep very much personal information to begin with. The most we keep is your email, which you should be able to change on your own to something bogus. Wiki staff can delete your userpages and rename your account if you ask them to.. We can also remove your logged IP address from our database if you in particular wish it. These IPs are never public, and will only link to your permanently deactivated account anyways. Please let us know how we can help you, and know any removals we make are permanent. Ampera (talk) 17:43, 5 March 2025 (UTC)

I want my account deleted/vanished. I don't wanna leave this account catch dust and also i wanna re-brand. Fernandez0907 (talk) 11:30, 6 March 2025 (UTC)

You have continued to edit on the same account, so it's a bit confusing. Do you just want an account rename? - Gigi (talkedits) 13:49, 6 March 2025 (UTC)

Just feel editing a little before the account removal. Fernandez0907 (talk) 19:19, 6 March 2025 (UTC)

Just delete the account. I can still edit on this WiKirby without one. Fernandez0907 (talk) 19:20, 6 March 2025 (UTC)

Table of contents[edit]

This might be a silly question but how do you add a table of contents to an article? A few times recently I've been working on an article and then someone would come and do some edits and suddenly I would have one in there. However whenever I look in the code for the article I can't seem to see where it was put in or how. So just kind of wondering how to add those or if maybe they just get automatically added or something and I didn't realize, just was curious about this. Oh and one more question as to not create needless threads, I asked recently but it may have gotten buried by other messages, you mentioned Autopatrol status recently and I wasn't aware of it, how do you reach that? - Evankacp (talk) 20:41, 6 March 2025 (UTC)

A table of contents is added automatically when an article has a certain number of sections, I don't know the exact number but I believe it's around five. As for Autopatrol, see more info here. - Gigi (talkedits) 21:53, 6 March 2025 (UTC)
Ok great, thanks so much! - Evankacp (talk) 22:12, 6 March 2025 (UTC)
Hey Gigi, hope you're doing well. Just wanted to follow up on this and see if I may be eligible yet for auto-patrol? I didn't want to ask and seem impatient or anything so no worries if not, I just wanted to see if I was there yet or at least close, I noticed the page on it says it kinda varies in terms of when someone is typically able to get it. I've been working on getting better at making articles and I feel I've gotten a lot better at editing overall. I know obviously I'm far from any sort of official position but I was hoping to get auto-patrol soon as I've been working hard to make good edits wherever and whenever I can and I've understood and corrected any errors or mistakes I've previously made. Honestly, I don't care a ton about the aspect of my edits not being patrolled, I don't mind my edits being reviewed and I appreciate the help haha. But I guess I just thought it'd be cool to finally achieve that rank, and would be cool to have the few extra privileges and icon haha. But again, don't wanna seem impatient or anything, if I still need some more time before I get it that's totally cool, just wanted to ask. Thank you! - Evankacp (talk) 14:28, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
So, autopatrol like you mentioned is a bit up in the air. Personally what I look for someone to be autopatrol is exactly what it gives to the other: can staff members stop patrolling that person's edits? Mostly if someone's edits don't need correction, reverting, and in general the user is following wiki policy and not going around doing things that will later need staff or another senior edit to "fix" or improve. You are on the way there, but personally not there yet. I mostly recommend you to familiarize with the wiki's policies (as for example, not long ago you demonstrated you weren't familiar with our naming policy in Talk:Giant Scroll), and one thing I advise you is, again, to be a bit more patient in general. More than once you have given very little time for discussions to happen, most recently in Talk:Armoroid; 24 hours is far from enough for someone to wait for comments. You have the right idea to ask before doing major edits, but at the same time you shouldn't just go wait little then do it. You are on the way of finding that ideal tempo. In short, keep improving and editing and learning, and when the time is right, you will be granted Autopatrol by an admin (it doesn't really have to be by me, any admin can do it as it's not a staff position). And one last advice: don't edit a wiki with the primary goal to "earn" any position, that should be something that happens naturally out of passion. This can probably extend to basically anywhere, but just saying that at least in WiKirby in particular, trying to impress/flatter staff members for positions is not how you get promoted to any role (not saying you are doing it by the way, but making it clear that's not how we work here; we want to see genuine work). - Gigi (talkedits) 21:15, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
Thanks so much for the response and for explaining all that! I will say right off the bat as I want my intentions to be clear, I'm only here cause I love Kirby haha. I found and started browsing the site at work while bored as I've considered myself a diehard Kirby fan for many, many years now since I was a kid. Overtime I realized it'd be really fun to contribute to the Wiki myself and to help it in any way I can cause I do just love the series, and once I started doing some edits and making some articles I realized I really enjoyed it haha. I'm not necessarily dying to like "rank up" or anything lmao, I think like you said I just viewed it more as something that may happen eventually due to me working on the site a lot. If it does, awesome, if not, oh well, still really like the site and will probably be here for a while now that I've found it haha. Even with auto-patrol like I said, I don't even really have a specific reason I really want it, I just like being here and editing so I was thinking ooh that'll be cool to get my first rank on WiKirby. So anyway, sorry to drone on haha, I just say all this cause I definitely don't wanna come across as someone who's here cause I'm trying to like climb a ladder and become a Wiki Overlord or something lmao. Like I said, if that happens down the line, cool, but I just genuinely really like it here and like editing haha. And that said I do totally understand your reasoning as well. I have still been finding my feet and learning a lot of the rules so that's definitely fair, I will check those more often and get more familiar with them. And yes...I do need to work on my patience lol, sorry about that. I've kind of always been an impatient person so I hope you know it's never with any bad intentions, I just gotta learn to wait more haha. Thank you again for your response and understanding! - Evankacp (talk) 21:35, 12 March 2025 (UTC)

Can my page become an official page now?[edit]

I've workd on element for a long time now, I think since late 2023. I would ike it to replace power effect, since elements are in other games not just Kirby star allies. Sorry for not being active a lot, I'm busy with school and stuff lol. Idk if you even remember me, but I'm the guy who loves Kirby and Pokemon and who is a Kirby Star Allies FANATIC.

Your old pal, IsaacBoi321 (talk) 20:18, 17 April 2025 (UTC)

Hi there, a whole new page replacing an existing one sounds like a bad idea, in particular since you are proposing a page with a conjectural name to replace a page with an official name. I recall we discussing in the past that your current Element draft has many issues, one of them being that it's not really based on official information and generalizes ability properties across all games as if they worked all the same as they do in Star Allies, which isn't true. As it stands right now, your Element draft is just the table from Power Effect with minor additions, many of which are speculative. As such, I still don't see really a need for that page. Ever since you created that draft, we've also decided to discuss a possible new page which lists ability properties per game, which is basically this section of the Copy Ability page but better organized.
Ultimately, that is my opinion. If you want to ask for other opinions, I recommend you ask in the talk page of Power Effect, as you said you want to replace that page with Element. But again, please rethink a bit because I cannot see why we would replace Power Effect with a smaller page with a conjectural title. - Gigi (talkedits) 21:33, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
Ok, thanks for explaining and I got it now. I didn't realize the copy abilities utilities section lol I guess My helpfulness isnt really helping :( But I'm still pretty happy that I was the one who created the Electricky Dooter page :D Anyway, I'm gonna keep helping and editing the wiki, like how I was in 2023. Curious: do you remember me from 2023/2024? IsaacBoi321 (talk) 02:23, 18 April 2025 (UTC)

Personalize Signature[edit]

Hi Gigi! Do you know how to personalize your signature on this wiki? --ZanyDragon (talk) 18:23, 19 April 2025 (UTC)

If I were to upload a screenshot from a video on YouTube, what would the source be? --   ~ (talk · edits) 19:01, 19 April 2025 (UTC)

Hi! I recommend you read our sourcing standards for the full answer, but for Youtube screenshots, the link to the video should work. I do want to note though that we do not allow in-game screenshots sourced from Youtube videos, as that goes against our image standards. We do allow some Youtube screenshots, but in some rare cases. What kind of screenshots were you hoping to upload? - Gigi (talkedits) 20:26, 19 April 2025 (UTC)

I was hoping to upload images from a video of someone playing Kirby and the Forgotten Land in co-op mode, as I don't own any of the Kirby games. I was thinking images of the bosses in their defeated states, to start. --   ~ (talk · edits) 20:33, 19 April 2025 (UTC)

The thing is, I want to make sure I stay within your standards to make sure I don't get banned or blocked. I am new to this wiki, and I want to make sure I understand the way things on this wiki work. --   ~ (talk · edits) 20:36, 19 April 2025 (UTC)

If they haven't already, I think someone should upload screenshots of Clawroline and Sillydillo that show these bosses after they've been defeated. --   ~ (talk · edits) 19:17, 21 April 2025 (UTC)

Unfortunately if you don't have access to the games then I recommend you don't take screenshots. As I explained, we generally disallow Youtube screenshots since they tend to be low quality and not have the correct resolution. There are some exceptions, if you can find a Youtube video with high enough quality and with the exact resolution of a game, but these are rare. Personally though, I recommend you to help the wiki in other ways. You can find a list of things to do in the wiki here. - Gigi (talkedits) 21:25, 21 April 2025 (UTC)

What of images found on sites with walkthroughs, such as IGN? --   ~ (talk · edits) 16:53, 22 April 2025 (UTC)

That is generally fine if the screenshot follows our image standards. Do you have any examples? - Gigi (talkedits) 13:41, 23 April 2025 (UTC)

I found an image on IGN of Kirby obtaining three Rare Stones by using a Present Code. --   ~ (talk · edits) 18:38, 23 April 2025 (UTC)

I asked you to share me a direct link to the image. Uploading it to the wiki and adding it to a mainspace article before verifying that wasn't exactly ideal. Anyway, the image you originally uploaded didn't have the resolution outlined in our image standards that I linked to you before. That said, the IGN site did have the image in full resolution, so I uploaded that instead. However before I give an official approval to use these, I am asking a bit other staff. Finally, the image you uploaded doesn't follow our file naming guidelines as outlined here, so I ask you to review them and rename the file to a better name. But please refrain from readding it to a mainspace article before I get the confirmation with other staff that it's file to use those in the wiki. - Gigi (talkedits) 19:20, 23 April 2025 (UTC)

In that case, I think I'll let someone else upload the images. --   ~ (talk · edits) 19:43, 23 April 2025 (UTC)

Well, if you change your mind, we agreed to allow as long as they are native resolution and don't have any watermark. Are you planning to remake the screenshot you uploaded? - Gigi (talkedits) 22:58, 23 April 2025 (UTC)

New Monitor[edit]

I should seek out a bigger monitor with a better resolution. --   ~ (talk · edits) 19:57, 23 April 2025 (UTC)

Please don't use talk pages for off topic conversations. Keep it to matters related to the wiki. If you would like to chat with others about other things, you are free to do so in our Discord server (which I believe you are in). - Gigi (talkedits) 22:59, 23 April 2025 (UTC)

Super Kirby Clash information[edit]

Hi Gigi. Do you where I can find information about the quests in Super Kirby Clash? --   ~ (talk · edits) 01:16, 28 April 2025 (UTC)

Hi, answering since Gigi's offline; we have a masterpost over on the Discord server (which I believe you are in, so accessing it shouldn't be a problem) with all necessary resources for SKC coverage here. ShadowKirby (t/c) a.k.a. your new overlord ShadowMagolor 04:15, 28 April 2025 (UTC)

Add a page to my sandbox[edit]

Hey GiGi! I was creating the page "Dazzling Treasures" when I accidently released it to the mainspace. How do I add this to my sandbox? Thanks Zobee (talk) 15:27, 1 May 2025 (UTC)

I've voted it to User:Zobee/Dazzling Treasures. - Gigi (talkedits) 15:28, 1 May 2025 (UTC)

Ok, thank you so much! I'm really sorry about this. How do I make sure this dosen't happen again? How do I add pages to my sandbox? Zobee (talk) 15:33, 1 May 2025 (UTC)

You can just follow any link for any page you want to create and do it like that. Just type in your browser any page and it will prompt you to be able to create it. - Gigi (talkedits) 15:46, 1 May 2025 (UTC)

Acceptable Image[edit]

Hey so I made a post about this on the talk page for Kirby 64 but I figured I could ask you directly as you're knowledgeable on files and images on here. I noticed recently that we do not have an image of the Boss Battles Perfect screen from Kirby 64, shown after defeating Boss Battles mode without taking any damage. I was able to find one single image on all of the internet of this screen, other than a picture of a TV screen of someone beating it lol. The only screenshot I could find I uploaded [1] here. Is the file acceptable for use given the resolution (not sure if it's good resolution or not already, might just be rough cause it's N64 but I wasn't sure so wanted to ask) and given that I just retrieved it from a Reddit post? Feels like a significant special screen to not have anywhere on the Wiki. I figured it could be added to both the Kirby 64 page as well as the Boss Endurance page which actually mentions this screen but does not show it. Just wanted to make sure first that the file itself was ok for use on the Wiki. - Evankacp (talk) 20:44, 1 May 2025 (UTC)

I noticed you asked the same question in various places. Next time, it's easier to keep it in one place and wait a bit. Anyway, it's odd since that screenshot looks like it's in native resolution, but it's a bit blurry, so I'm not sure if it works? I agree we could use that screenshot in the wiki, but it would be better to get it in better quality. I'm unsure if we want to have it instead of nothing, but I will give it some thought. - Gigi (talkedits) 01:24, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
Ok that's fair, so you're saying just wait for now on adding the image to pages? or am I good to just add it those 2 pages I mentioned? - Evankacp (talk) 17:52, 2 May 2025 (UTC)

Kirby:Planet Robobot[edit]

Gigi, can you please review and publish my revsion on Kirby: Planet Robobot right now, please Gigi?--2601:243:D01:1F20:3870:AA0F:1549:BFFE 00:49, 22 May 2025 (UTC)

What do you mean by unsourced images?[edit]

I screenshotted both those Meta Knight images you deleted from Dailymotion and from a Google drive. Is there anything I can do to get those images back onto the site? Unowninator (talk) 16:11, 28 May 2025 (UTC)

Hi there, sorry for not leaving a message in your talk page about this (I meant to, but didn't have time so I focused on deleting the unsourced files). Anyway, you uploaded the files not filling the aboutfile template, which meant you didn't disclose any source when uploading the file. Please see here for information. - Gigi (talkedits) 19:03, 28 May 2025 (UTC)
So it's basically because I left the text stuff blank? Or is there another reason? Also, what do I do if I don't know the requested info? (especially license) Unowninator (talk) 23:55, 28 May 2025 (UTC)
Hi, pardon me for barging in, but to answer: yes, it is because the parameters were left empty. The only parameters you need to fill in are description, media (which should be set to ''[[Kirby: Right Back at Ya]]''), type (which should be set to tv and fills in license automatically), and source (if you took the screenshots yourself, self should suffice). ShadowKirby (t/c) a.k.a. your new overlord ShadowMagolor 05:36, 29 May 2025 (UTC)
Thanks. I'll upload them again. I'm just not sure how to put them on the page properly. Unowninator (talk) 22:29, 29 May 2025 (UTC)
Your images still aren't the best quality though. The anime is 4:3 resolution and the images you uploaded are 16:9 with black borders. Are you able to properly crop them at least? Also, regarding using images, the help page I linked should have the information; in general, I recommend you to read over our policies and help pages. - Gigi (talkedits) 22:36, 29 May 2025 (UTC)
Ratio, updated. Policy reading, I could probably do a better job at. My apologies. Unowninator (talk) 00:31, 30 May 2025 (UTC)

Kirby and the Forgotten Land (2 Player Co-op)[edit]

I think someone ought to upload images of the cutscenes from Kirby and the Forgotten Land with Bandana Waddle Dee in them. --   ~ (talk · edits) 17:29, 8 June 2025 (UTC)

Main Page Star-Crossed World[edit]

Hey I mentioned this a while ago on the talk page for the main page but it seems like nobody ever saw it. Small thing but now that we have a separate page for Star-Crossed World it should be linked on the home page in the news section talking about the Switch 2 version. Evankacp (talk) 20:29, 9 June 2025 (UTC)

The thing is that the main page in that section links to games, not modes. As we are currently considering both versions of FL the same in-wiki (well, kinda, it's complicated, but the point is that the Switch 2 version does not have a separate page just yet), we link to the game. Star-Crossed World is a game mode added to the Switch 2 edition, but it's not everything new in that edition, so it's not proper to link to just the mode. - Gigi (talkedits) 22:12, 9 June 2025 (UTC)

Blocked[edit]

Hi, Gigi. A message saying that I've been blocked popped up. Have I truly been blocked from this wiki, or is this an error? --   ~ (talk · edits) 16:47, 24 June 2025 (UTC)

I've had to deal with this a few years ago a few times; it's just that the IP address you're trying to edit from has been blocked even though your account is not. You can either wait a little bit for your IP address to change or wiki staff can remove the block on the affected IP. Either way, you can continue to edit articles with no problems. Hope that answered your query! – Owencrazyboy17 (talk) 16:54, 24 June 2025 (UTC)

Okay, thank you. --   ~ (talk · edits) 16:57, 24 June 2025 (UTC)

Edits[edit]

Excuse me, but can you please publish my edits? Thank you!--PawPatroler (talk) 20:26, 17 August 2025 (UTC)

Okay, while I won't ask you to publish my edits or put me on Autopatrol status, I'll ask the following; what can I do so the quality of my edits improve?--PawPatroler (talk) 23:47, 18 August 2025 (UTC)
I've mentioned to you just now, and your talk page message from ShadowKirby goes in more detail. The main issue is that you keep breaking "don't correct what is correct". Adding an extra word that doesn't do anything, fixing grammar that isn't broken, to name a few. That shows you aren't familiar with our policies; for example, you removed red links from pages, indicating you haven't read the article creation policy. I recommend you to go over our policies listed here, and if you have any questions, you can ask me or any staff member. - Gigi (talkedits) 23:59, 18 August 2025 (UTC)

Autopatrol[edit]

So I never normally would make a request like this and I know it's generally a bit of a no-no to specifically ask but I was wondering if I could finally get autopatrol? I feel I've been on here for a while, both making plenty of good edits and also creating several articles. I don't care a ton about ranks or anything but the main reason I even thought of it recently is just due to the fact that the Air Riders page was locked down to only autopatrol and up the other day. I went to the page like many others and had some edits I wanted to make but was not able to do so. I believe most of the ones I was going to make have been done by now but some I was going to do much earlier and I believe it would've helped with the big update we were doing on there. Anyway, in summary, not trying to complain or anything or demand a rank, I just feel I'm deserving of auto-patrol at the least and again, I don't care about ranks a ton but I'd like to be included in things such as the Air Riders update in the future so I can contribute, and I assume there may be other things like this locked behind auto-patrol that I would wanna contribute to. - Evankacp (talk) 14:08, 20 August 2025 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for reaching out. The page is locked temporarily to autopatrol only mostly to avoid edit conflicts, and make sure the main page of the game has cited information. This lock is only set to last a week. In the meantime, you're free to suggest edits in the talk page, as well as edit other related pages that haven't been updated yet, including character pages like Kirby, enemies like Scarfy, among others; there's a lot of work to do outside the main page still. As for autopatrol, what I can say is that you are in the right track, and perhaps this could be a good way to prove you truly deserve it. As always, you are free to reach out for help here or to any other staff member. Cheers! - Gigi (talkedits) 14:40, 20 August 2025 (UTC)

Name Change[edit]

Yeah I know, I haven't been here in a while, don't know if I'll be active again either, but could you change my username to "Galacta 22" please? Thanks, Temporal Warrior, Poyo22 (talk) 00:23, 27 August 2025 (UTC)

Replying to re-notify you and also to ask how you make a personal sandbox so that I may begin work on the Fallen Star Volcano page? Temporal Warrior, Poyo22 (talk) 17:57, 29 August 2025 (UTC)
To make a sandbox you can just create a page with a URL like this: https://wikirby.com/wiki/User:Poyo22/Fallen_Star_Volcano Of course if it was about another topic you would just change out the last part and if your name is changed you can change that part. Fallen-Star Volcano[edit]

So, is my page for Fallen-Star Volcano ready to become mainspace? If not, what should I add to it? The Hand Which Controls Fate, Galacta 22 (talk) 18:23, 1 September 2025 (UTC)

I've been busy so I haven't been able to take a better look, but it doesn't look ready to mainspace yet. (By the way, I would recommend being a bit more patient for staff to answer you, it has only been around 1 day and you messaged another staff member). - Gigi (talkedits) 19:31, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
Sorry! I get impatient. Anyway what should be done to improve it? The Hand Which Controls Fate, Galacta 22 (talk) 21:35, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
I will take a better look today but it looks overall fine, but could be expanded a bit more. I will see. - Gigi (talkedits) 13:33, 7 September 2025 (UTC)

Merchandise image categories[edit]

Hello!

I wanted to ask if I can add categories to merchandise images such as the product line and/or which characters and Items are featured.

(by the way, the "cat" in my username stands for category/categorizing lol)

CatFreak (talk) 06:49, 16 September 2025 (UTC)

What kind of categories are you thinking, in the sense of, how specific are we thinking? And though I'm in general not opposed to the idea, it may be best to start a discussion in the Merchandise talk page to see what others think. I would just caution to not overcategorize though; if anything, our merchandise pages are already supposed to categorize merch, so maybe image categories wouldn't be exactly needed. - Gigi (talkedits) 18:44, 16 September 2025 (UTC)

About country userboxes[edit]

Hi!

I wanted to know if I can add this new country userbox in the [Help:Userboxes] page?

This user is from China.

I had this idea while working on my own userpage and I found out that my homeland isn't in the list. However, I don't have access to editing that page, so if anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate this! Snowingbird (talk) 07:59, 21 September 2025 (UTC)

Hi, yes, the page is admin-locked. I can add that, though I noticed that there the userboxes fully reflect the country colours and white is only used if it's in the flag. Would you be okay with a colour change along these lines?
This user is from China.

ShadowKirby (t/c) a.k.a. your new overlord ShadowMagolor 08:23, 21 September 2025 (UTC)

Of course! Thanks a lot! :) Snowingbird (talk) 10:53, 21 September 2025 (UTC)

I noticed you permanently banned an IP range and some IP addresses.[edit]

because an user kept on ban evading.

I get that the user may have crossed the line into permabanning their IP addresses but wouldn't IP ranges affect a lot of locations and possibly an entire neighborhood could be permabanned so you shouldn't make IP bans permament? You could say users innocently banned can just contact you on Discord but their IP may be banned from the server too while their account isn't and they may also not think of contacting staff because they think they actually violated rules which happened to me on Smogon forums when my account was incorrectly banned after a mod had their account hacked. I was thinking there was an unknown rule I broke or I said things that mods didn't like so if I tried to contact them they would just say "you know what got you banned" so didn't really try to begin with.

I'm not the type to vandalize WiKirby on purpose but if I was a troll who wanted to cause trouble I would just reset my router to get a new IP (or even use a VPN) while another user gets my old IP and is hit with the unjustified ban, or even vandalize using McDonalds wifi to get a public mall banned so shouldn't you make the IP bans temporary? Or if you want to keep it permament you could put a note somewhere that says "your IP is banned because of a persistent ban evader, if you were unfairly affected please contact the staff using this contact method". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.146.211.5 (talkcontribs) . Hi. I'm not sure why an IP with no edits on WiKirby is asking this. I don't want to assume anything, but this feels highly suspicious of you to ask. But to ask your question: there is no issue banning the ranges or a specific IP. I've done it in other places I moderate with no issue, as long as investigation of the IP is done beforehand. Yes, people can use a different IP, VPNs etc, but when it's clear someone keeps ban evading in the same IP, it makes sense to ban that IP. Moreover, ever since the IP ban, that person never came back, so they are not the type of troll you are describing. Since you are here leaving this message, I assume you don't have any issue with any of the IPs banned, so why are you asking this? Again, you have 0 edits under this IP as well. - Gigi (talkedits) 01:29, 21 October 2025 (UTC)

Hi. I could edit WiKirby and make an account but I just don't see much to edit. I have an issue with permabanning IPs in general for the issues of catching others in the crossfire, thought you just took this issue lightly and it also seems useless in stopping troublemakers given they would probably not have the IP range whenever or not they try to ban evade again so all you're doing is preventing people from joining for no reason.

Rename request.[edit]

Sorry to bother you if this isn't the right way to go about asking for a new name.

Given that Dale has now been renamed to Solite and is also now in two games making my current name's bit less funny, can my account name be changed to "SoliteGal"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by DaleFromKirbyAirRide (talkcontribs) . Please always sign your comments by typing ~~~~!

Sorry for the delay, I'm traveling. I can do it in a few. - Gigi (talkedits) 22:13, 7 December 2025 (UTC)
It has been done, enjoy your new name! - Gigi (talkedits) 22:15, 7 December 2025 (UTC)
Thanks! But weird thing, my userpage says I'm not autopatrol even though my settings page says I am? I assume this is an issue caused by the rename. Not a big deal but hope it can be fixed.--#SoliteForAirRide3 (talk) 20:08, 12 December 2025 (UTC)
Ah yes sorry, I forgot to update the autopatrol template after the rename. It should be fixed now. - Gigi (talkedits) 00:24, 13 December 2025 (UTC)

Dyna's Blade Nest[edit]

Just to clarify, "Dyna's Blade Nest" is an actual typo of Dyna Blade's Nest (Battle Stage); read the Trivia section of said page. according to the policy, Help:Redirects, offical typo redirects are allowed.--WildAcme (talk) 22:46, 8 December 2025 (UTC)

Next time, please clarify in the edit summary when creating a page. Seeing a typo redirect being created without no explanation leads to things like this. - Gigi (talkedits) 23:13, 8 December 2025 (UTC)

Help with the account Password[edit]

I did the request account thing with the name --PurpleCremisis. i've got an email through the email address i used for the account request. the email gave me the link that after gettining clicked sented me to this page that should gave me the password for logging in afterwards, but all i've got was a text that said "Invalid confirmation code. The code may have expired". I tried the "forgot password?" thing, but it sent me no email. please help me to get the password.

electricity[edit]

Sorry for changing the info on the electriciy properties page, I was just trying to make it prelevant to the counterpart pages (ex: fiery and ice) Since they said something similar on their respective category pages.

I apologize, I will ask next time. IsaacBoi321 (talk) 15:27, 5 February 2026 (UTC)

You are good. I would refrain however from adding more pages to the categories I see you are adding, because as of present the way the wiki deals with "elements" in general can be a bit inconsistent, and we have a pending revamp of Ability properties and the link as specified in the Copy Ability talk page. I believe the "wind properties" category for example was meant to apply only to KSA and bluster, but I'm unsure. - Gigi (talkedits) 15:38, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
Sorry for barging in, but I would argue that the return of Windmill Switches and ability to clear piles of sand in KatFL justify the use of that category outside KSA. ShadowKirby (t/c) a.k.a. your new overlord ShadowMagolor 07:16, 6 February 2026 (UTC)
No yeah that is fair, hence why I kept the edit. Sort just wanted to illustrate the definitions are muddy a bit right now, and I think before we add more things to existing categories, it would be good to define what are "wind properties" or things like that. - Gigi (talkedits) 13:11, 6 February 2026 (UTC)

Signature[edit]

Hey, I’m just wondering how do you make custom signatures? I’ve been seeing them over talk pages and that leaves me wondering, how do you do it? --Magolorthetraveler (talk) 04:31, 16 March 2026 (UTC)

Hi, you can find info about that here. - Gigi (talkedits) 00:28, 19 March 2026 (UTC)

Hey, what does this conversation mean from the Daroach page?[edit]

One user says:

"Normally I would revert squabbles like these but I do believe that Daroach probably deserves the title of "main antagonist" of Squeak Squad for actually instigating the conflict. Dark Nebula didn't actually do anything."

And you reply with

"Normally I could argue, but this edit in particular has been trying to be added for 3 years after it was reverted in 2022 without discussion... And the user that kept trying to edit it is blocked"

This is why you reverted the Daroach page to calling him a "secondary antagonist", but you don't explain why you consider him the "secondary antagonist", it seems you have more of an issue with the edit being made after being reverted in a dispute rather than it being wrong?

I also don't know if I'm the user here? I'm not blocked? I think? I don't think I've ever edited a wiki page on any website before 2024 or 2025, so I wouldn't have even been here to edit the page in 2022. —Preceding unsigned comment added by RGuy26 (talkcontribs) 22:10, 19 March 2026 (UTC). Apologies for taking a while to approve this (we have been dealing with difficult edits lately). It's possible your identity may have been mistaken for someone else, yes. And it is true that, on WiKirby, we prefer not to allow edit wars regardless of who is "right" or "wrong". Ideally these should be solved with the {{Dispute}} template, but it's such a hassle that nobody really uses it... StarPunch (talk) 02:54, 12 April 2026 (UTC)
I want to assume good faith, but it is a bit suspicious you make an account just to ask this and argue something so specific that an account kept trying to add it multiple times and was eventually blocked. If you are not said user, why did you make an account just to ask about this? - Gigi (talkedits) 02:58, 12 April 2026 (UTC)

No you don't, you very clearly don't want to assume good faith, you think I'm the user otherwise you wouldn't have commented this.

It's rude, and borderline paranoid of you to just accuse some rando of being this antagonistic user with no evidence on your part. If it's a USER it could not have been me because I never made an account before. And why don't I edit anything else? Almost none of my edits on this wiki have gone through, this wiki is a ghost town that doesn't allow most people to edit. ANYTHING and as such why would I bother doing anything else on this website when nothing else actually goes through.

It also seems like poor judgement that multiple people, assumedly in charge, know that Daroach fits better as a "main antagonist", or at the very least don't have a justification to keep changing it, but do so out of... spite? Simply because a bad user wants to change it? This isn't an exit war man, I literally haven't edited a single THING on this website because ehen I edit, it doesn't go through, it's never approved. Let it go through unless you genuinely believe it's not the main antagonist, and I don't think there's any legitimate argument that it isn't.

"Apologies for taking a while to approve this (we have been dealing with difficult edits lately). It's possible your identity may have been mistaken for someone else, yes. And it is true that, on WiKirby, we prefer not to allow edit wars regardless of who is "right" or "wrong". At the very least this is a more reasonable explanation. I still don't really get the weird... I don't know, like taboo around calling this guy a main antagonist? Like just... do it? It's more like an edit war from the people reverting it because their only reasoning is that they don't like the user who called it a main antagonist.

So I assume I'm just fucked right now because I'm assumed to be this other user by some higher powers that be? There is no way for me to prove that I'm not the user. —Preceding unsigned comment added by RGuy26 (talkcontribs) 20:29, 16 May 2026 (UTC). Please always sign your comments by typing ~~~~!

I'm sorry that your behavior matches this especially persistent blocked IP. We have reason to be vigilant about ban evaders, and I apologize if it seems rude or paranoid, but we have been attempting to respond to you as politely as we can. Gigi asked a simple question about your motive, and your only answer so far has been "it makes more sense my way". Please don't take it personally that you are assumed to be the same because your behavior is similar. I promise you that Gigi is assuming good faith as much as possible and we do not want to have angry and uncivil conversation.
It's evident that, if you've only begun editing wikis recently, you are likely not familiar with the concept of edit warring. For what it's worth, yes, the way that edit wars work is that until a solution is discussed, the page is to remain the way it was before the edit war began. Otherwise, it'll just facilitate more fighting about the way it should "remain". As I have mentioned before, we have logs of every edit made to the wiki, and we can factually prove that, unless you were editing under your anonymous IP address, every edit you've made has been related to the same subject on Daroach's article. This is why we have kept encouraging you to discuss the subject more and contribute to other areas of the wiki, because persistently pressing the same button expecting different results will not get you anywhere.
Like Gigi mentioned, we're going to abolish the whole system of calling characters "primary" or "secondary" antagonists anyway because it will cause unnecessary debate. It's better to just avoid the conflict, because while it might seem obvious which answer is "objectively correct" to one person, another person might have a completely different opinion on the matter and view their own way as "objectively correct". It's better to avoid taking sides. I hope that makes sense.
As I mentioned before, your edits have not been approved because of your aforementioned edit warring on the Daroach article. If you edit other areas of the wiki, and discuss things with other editors, you'll quickly be autoconfirmed and allowed to take more active part in work on the wiki. We have these systems in place to circumvent spam and unproductive users. It isn't anything personal. StarPunch (talk) 21:39, 16 May 2026 (UTC)

Huge Mess[edit]

Hi! I wanted to move a draft as a normal page, but I moved the wrong thing. Now, in trying to fix the problem, I've created a huge chain of redirects to pages which don't even exist, and the talk page from the draft was mistakenly moved instead of the correct page. Who do I need to contact to fix this huge mess?

Cheap Magolor (talk) 16:03, 16 April 2026 (UTC)

I'm not Gigi, but everything should be fixed now. I went ahead and moved the talk page back to being attached to the draft page, if you want to move it to mainspace alongside the main page then you can check the "move associated talk page" button when moving the main page. ---PinkYoshiFan 16:10, 16 April 2026 (UTC)
Thank you so much! Everything seems to be back to normal; I panicked over nothing, thank you so much for your help, I'll make sure not to do that kind of stupid thing again in the future! And you even corrected my accidental publication of the draft of Phantom of the Moon Soul! All the more reason to thank you, you were a great help! Cheap Magolor (talk) 16:21, 16 April 2026 (UTC)

Sorry to bother[edit]

Sorry to bother you Gigi, but I edited my user page a fee days ago. It was a pretty big edit, and since my edits are under moderation, when is the edit going to be confirmed? If I edit it right now the edit summary and things are still there. When will my edit to my userpage be confirmed?

Oh and sorry to bother you about this but do you know how Axiomist died? Golden Beanbon (talk) 17:53, 2 May 2026 (UTC)

To fill in for Gigi a bit, your userpage edit is being held for a few things you wrote. We're trying to determine if they're appropriate to keep on the wiki. The cause of Axiomist's death isn't known. You can find his obituary here. StarPunch (talk) 09:54, 3 May 2026 (UTC)
Hi, also filling in, the review is more or less finalized. The things that are questionable are some of the quote options (more or less 2 and particularly 10), and the Copper Golem caption. You are still able to continue editing your userpage, anything you add will be combined into the previous edit for one revision; I ask that you review your captions in consideration of the recent userpage-based warning, if you please. ShadowKirby (t/c) a.k.a. your new overlord ShadowMagolor 12:19, 3 May 2026 (UTC)
I can change the copper golem caption, but can you list the 2-10 ones you want me to change? Thanks Golden Beanbon (talk) 13:58, 3 May 2026 (UTC)Golden Beanbon aka Glimmer
Those were specifically about entries #2 (which has been changed since) and #10. We've noticed you updating #2 and #11 to now refer to Axiomist in passing, and while the first is understandable as a simple "rest in peace" (#2), remarking about a previous staff member not being alive to experience COVID (with #11) still reads as insensitive to us. If you remove any mention of "The [noun] Files" (#10), and remove the COVID-related quotes, you should see it approved within the day. BB101 (talk) 18:59, 3 May 2026 (UTC)

wasn’t answered on the talk page so I’m putting it here[edit]

Hi! In User:Gigi/Kirby novels project I found that the tab about Kirby: Welcome to the Starlight Theater! said it was not claimed, but I found a draft for it here. I did say this on the pages talk, but it didn’t get a response after a few days so i thought I’d put it here. Thanks :) ~♪Star (t) (c) 11:05, 11 May 2026 (UTC)

Hi, I went ahead and updated it. For future reference, you're free to update it yourself, too, it's not restricted. ShadowKirby (t/c) a.k.a. your new overlord ShadowMagolor 12:11, 11 May 2026 (UTC)

Account Deletion[edit]

Hello! I would like my account to be permanently disabled, as I really only wanted to make an account for all of the cool userpage features—so I haven't used the site for awhile. Please, if you can, block it and hide its logs from public view. Thanks! Notrazz (talk) 21:18, 13 June 2026 (UTC)

Hi, I just want to make sure I understand exactly what you want: a block, and hiding all edits you have made? I see most were in User:Notrazz, do you want your userpage deleted as well? I also ask because that is where the bulk of your edits is, and I would have to manually hide all edits you've made, and deleting that page would make it easier. - Gigi (talkedits) 03:33, 14 June 2026 (UTC)
Pretty much, yes to all of those. Notrazz (talk) 21:36, 16 June 2026 (UTC)
Done. - Gigi (talkedits) 14:59, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
