editIt was great! I think that the elections help ArbCom thrive very well. Anyway, thanks a lot! CreatorTheWikipedian2009 (talk) 16:04, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
Ordering of candidate list
editThe candidates are listed in different orders at Special:SecurePoll/vote/859 and Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee Elections December 2025/Candidates/Discussion, which I find very confusing when I'm trying to go through each of them and evaluate them, since I can't just go down both lists in parallel, but instead have to choose one to go through (and remember which one) and then search through the other one for each candidate name.

- The ordering of candidates at Special:SecurePoll/vote/859 is purposely randomized each time the ballot is opened to avoid advantaging or disadvantaging candidates based on the ordering. The confusion this causes may not be worth it, but it is at least intentional. Best, KevinL (aka L235 · t · c) 23:02, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
- Gotcha, makes sense, I thought it might be something like that. While I agree that is helpful for polls in general, I'm not sure if it helps much in this case.
- I guess one thing that might help, for future elections, could be to put the candidates' information and discussions, or links to them, on the ballot, so that voters can more easily just use the randomized ordering there?

- candidates details or link to meta-wiki pages should be made available for quick reference to inform one's decision in the electoral process Abdul-Rauf Moshie (talk) 10:18, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
Formalize election clerk role
editAs the first year with clerks, there were a couple ambiguities over the ElectCom/clerk split this year. It would be handy to have something brief in ACERULES that covers:
- 3 election clerks
- Clerks in charge of setting up SecurePoll and technical things
- Scrutineers should inform clerks (rather than ElectCom) when results are finished (this can go in the scrutineer instructions instead)
- Clerks should tally results and post
- Clerks should certify alongside scrutineers
