RedPatch
Hello! First of all, thank you for creating the article: I was actually planning to do it myself in the next days... : D I've also made some minor fixes, hopefully they're useful. However, are you sure about him already meeting WP:GNG? To be honest, I would put the page in the draft space for now, or at least until Chima starts playing for Cavalry. Oltrepier (talk) 12:45, 17 February 2023 (UTC)
- I had originally meant to create it as a draft (as I did with a few of the other new CPL signings), but since I clicked on the redlink, I ended up forgetting to put the "Draft:" in front of the title, and then I was just like, oh well what's done is done. I'll move it to the draft, I agree it's where it should be. RedPatch (talk) 13:30, 17 February 2023 (UTC)
- That's fine, thank you for clarifying it.
- Anyways, if Chima plays regularly for the club this season, he should fulfill the criteria back again. Oltrepier (talk) 14:35, 17 February 2023 (UTC)
Fupa
editHi. Thanks for updating Ronan Kratt. For future reference, Fupa is not a reliable source as its data is user-generated. I have replaced the Fupa reference at Ronan Kratt. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 23:52, 27 August 2023 (UTC)
Reference removal at Paul Stalteri
editHi RedPatch. Did you mean to remove the reference at Paul Stalteri in this change? Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 11:40, 7 October 2023 (UTC)
- Oops. No, I didn't mean too. I was just updating the lead section and didn't notice the reference, since refs aren't normally there. I re-added it in a new coaching section (which I'm surprised wasn't there already). Thanks Robby for letting me know. RedPatch (talk) 11:50, 7 October 2023 (UTC)
- You're welcome. Good work! Thanks for adding the coaching career section. Happy editing, Robby.is.on (talk) 11:52, 7 October 2023 (UTC)

editHe was born in Ivory Coast per NFT - so nationality is ambiguous and should not be used as a disambiguation...any reason why you didn't use YOB as standard? GiantSnowman 19:18, 25 February 2024 (UTC)
- I created Ousmane Sylla (Senegalese footballer) from a REDLINK (not noticing that the redlink was set up as that), so I just moved it to the same title style and figured I could just do a RM later. Since Ivory Coast wasn't listed on the page, I didn't even notice. RedPatch (talk) 19:22, 25 February 2024 (UTC)

editJoe Zupo
editHey RedPatch, A user has proposed deleting Joe Zupo's page based on the outdated notability criteria of not playing in a fully professional league. To me, it passes WP:GNG because he has received significant coverage from reliable secondary sources at least from four sources. Also, he has transitioned into coaching giving the article the potential for additional coverage from secondary sources in the future. Just giving you a heads-up on the situation. Thanks --Shotgun pete (talk) 20:14, 23 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks ShotgunPete. I've contested the PROD. RedPatch (talk) 01:15, 24 January 2025 (UTC)
Re MLS reserve/loans?
editHey, I'm not familiar with the MLS transfer rules, take Calvin Harris (footballer) as an example, why was his Colorado reserve stint marked as loan, but not his stint at Cincinnati 2? --Oscar0123 (talk) 00:01, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
- Both should be. they both used to show it, the Cincinnati one must have been changed at some point and I didn't notice. Here are examples showing how they are loans in NA (both directions 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 1st)example, example, roster rules clarifying loans RedPatch (talk) 06:44, 13 March 2025 (UTC)

Northern Super League individual team seasons
editHi, thanks for creating so many of the pages on the NSL! I was wondering if you had any plans to create individual articles for each team's season, or if you think they'll be too much work to keep up-to-date?
I have a bit of free time at the moment and can help set them up, and should be able to help update the results for a few teams if not all of them as the season goes by. The transfers will take more work to compile initially, though. Let me know what you think? RobinL-CA (talk) 17:35, 15 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @RobinL-CA:, no I don't plan to do the individual team seasons. It's a bit much for me, I usually just focus on the League1 Canada seasons. If you want to go ahead with them, that's awesome! RedPatch (talk) 21:27, 15 April 2025 (UTC)
- Alright, I'll go ahead and create them then! Hopefully their existence will draw in a couple more users that will help maintain them.
- On a separate note, I was also wondering if guidelines you followed any guidelines in selecting the teams' accent colours? It's something I've not tried before and I'm wondering if any best practices has been established regarding that. I'm thinking about modifying Rise's colours since the current mostly white styling doesn't really feel like them. RobinL-CA (talk) 00:45, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
- No, I mainly just copied teams with similar colour schemes. So for the Rise I copied the Whitecaps, AFC Toronto I copied TFC, etc. I didn't put too much thought into it. Feel free to change them. RedPatch (talk) 14:35, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
- Okay, got it, thanks.

Keishean Francois
editHello,
Thanks for some of your edits on Keishean Francois. Some of your edits were, however, not constructive and did not lead to the "standardization" of the article. The previous versions were more informative, provided a more thorough encyclopedic picture, and helped prove general notability. If you can show me where this "standardization" is in the Wikipedia manuals of style, I would appreciate it. I also think some of your comments and edits are contradictory and incomplete, i.e. mentioning one college but not his transfer to another. Gri3720 (talk) 20:12, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hi User:Gri3720, the standardization come from the template article for footballers at Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Players, to have the sections of Early life, Youth career/College career, Club career as separate. (Given that players often play semi-pro and college simultaneously, even though there is often overlap in time periods but included in their respective sections for many North American players) Also, there is a long-standing consensus at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football for players born in one country and who represent another to omit the nationality and then include the sentence "Born in XX, he represents YY national team". As for the two colleges, I did specifically mention and include both of them, not sure why you said I ignored one. RedPatch (talk) 10:15, 3 June 2025 (UTC)

editHi RedPatch! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Sierra Cota-Yarde several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.
All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Sierra Cota-Yarde, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 18:49, 3 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hi User:Liz, I did not do multiple reversions. While there were two separate edits, it was one prose edit and one category only edit. It was not the same edit multiple times and certainly not an edit war as the information has not changed back and forth. I did not notice the categories had been added, hence why I did not initially remove them (had I noticed, it wouldve only been one edit). Note this is not my "Preferred version". What I did was remove reference to the claim of who the parent was because there is no evidence it is that same person (the only evidence was her profile saying father was named Kevin, no evidence it was the politician). If you check the article history, I originally added that info that the politician was the father, but it was removed an IP saying it was that person was not her father (just had the same name). I did quite a bit of searching to see if I could find a source showing he was but could find any, not so I left it, as it was as the IP did without the mention leading me to believe that was correct. It was then re-added recently, so I removed it in line with what the IP did. (I find when a random IP makes edits such as those, they tend to be true and usually from a direct contact) All I did recently was remove the categories which had survived the removal. There has been no edit warring since of information being added and re-added (just you updated some categories, that I should've removed initially when I removed the unverified addition, which was done by another user using WP:SYNTH based on an unproven claim). Again, the claim of my "preferred version" is false. Wikipedia relies on verifiable sources. Given there are none, it cannot be included, and this pertains to the addition of categories as well, which is what the last edit in question was that you are referring to. RedPatch (talk) 20:40, 3 July 2025 (UTC)
I feel like the Pacific FC transfer announcement made a mistake regarding his place of birth, as they initially say "Mansour, 24, of Burlington, Ont.", which is in line with the Global Sports Archive PoB, but later down say "Birthplace: Waterdown, Ontario". Nehme1499 20:07, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
- Hey Nehme, Waterdown is a really small town, now that I think of it. It's most likely he was born at the hospital in Burlington while living in Waterdown (which is just outside of it). I see it often where they'll write hometown instead of birthplace because of that. They probably just swapped it - like how the university profiles use hometown not birthplace. I had actually been about to post on your talkpage about this page to ask for your help on a couple things that I saw on his transfrmarkt (of course an unreliable source) page. I figured out that the AC Sporting tenure listed on it was wrong and was another player with the same name (I found a separate GSN profile for both), but the TM page mentions him playing for Lebanon U23 - do you know if there's any record of that, I couldn't find any. RedPatch (talk) 20:50, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
- Ok makes sense regarding the PoB. And yes, you are right about there being another player with the same name (so TM got it wrong). About the U23 team, I see this Omani website stating that he had previously played for Lebanon U23. I could not find more detailed information than this. Nehme1499 21:03, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
- Just noticed his Linkedin page lists Lebanon U23 and says "2021 National Team Camp in Beirut, Eligible for Asia Cup 2023 Selection" - looks like he attended a training camp. RedPatch (talk) 21:09, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
- I tried going through Lebanese FA announcements but could not find anything. Could have been a training camp behind closed doors. Nehme1499 21:19, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks for checking! RedPatch (talk) 22:49, 12 August 2025 (UTC)

I nominated this page for speedy deletion so as to allow for Ryan Williams (footballer, born 1993) to be redirected back to it, because it was moved from Ryan Williams (soccer, born 1993) as a result of vandalism—and against MOS:ENGVAR. I can't move Ryan Williams (footballer, born 1993), though, back to the original and correct Ryan Williams (soccer, born 1993) because it already technically exists. Anwegmann (talk) 01:38, 17 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Anwegmann, Sorry I didn't realize the nature of the deletion reason, was to move it back to soccer (as it should be), so added the re-direct to prevent broken redlinks - I should've paid more attention. My bad. I put in a Technical Requests move now to put it back. Sorry about that. RedPatch (talk) 15:55, 17 November 2025 (UTC)
