Vocals on Journey's Next album’s title track

edit

This might sound like a really strange question. I mean, everyone knows that Perry was brought in for the Infinity album. I’ve known the Next album since it was released, but lately I’ve become convinced that both he and Greg Rolie are singing on the title track. There seem to be two voices on it, and for one of them, the vocalisation is Perry all over. There’s a YouTube post of the band (with Perry) performing the track live, in 1978, and the vocals sound very similar to the recorded work. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LruCzETf0mk
If anyone knows the answer or has a link…(I’ve spent a long time searching) Boscaswell talk 05:07, 25 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

I verified the printed credits (there are several pictures of the record's innersleeve on Discogs), and they all confirm that Gregg Rolie and Neal Schon share lead vocals on the album, while Ross Valory provides background vocals. For Next, Gregg obviously handles lead vocals, and for me, it can only be one of the three previously mentioned on background vocals, most likely Ross. 2A02:8429:515A:CE01:31C7:9A33:1B7A:753E (talk) 16:30, 3 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Return to Lemoore

edit

Um, the "Journey era" begins with Steve "returning to Lemoore", yet this is the first time the article has mentioned Lemoore at all. Did Steve move there after being born in nearby Hanford? Someone with some knowledge should correct this. 2601:201:8D86:A050:FD64:426E:A2B1:8E21 (talk) 01:44, 19 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
