TradeBeyond is a cloud-based software company headquartered in Hong Kong.[1] The company offers SaaS applications focused on improving global sourcing and supply chain operations for brands and private label retailers.[2]

Their modular applications, known as "CBX" or "CBX modules", digitizes the end-to-end supply chains and enhance efficiency, speed, visibility, and agility, reducing lead times and replacing outdated processes dependent on emails, spreadsheets, and legacy methods. CBX solutions cover areas such as supplier management, product lifecycle management (PLM), sourcing and costing, order management, quality assurance, quality control, sustainability, and compliance.[3]

History

edit

TradeBeyond traces its origins to Core Solutions (“Core”), an IT consulting firm founded by Michael Hung and Tim Chiu. Based in Hong Kong, Core specialized in serving a vast network of brands and retailers with international sourcing operations, many of which are also headquartered in the city. Through their extensive work with hundreds of brands, retailers, and trading businesses, Hung and Chiu recognized a common challenge: even major brands and retailers relied heavily on manual processes for their international buying and sourcing activities. This often resulted in delays, errors, and limited visibility across complex supply chains. Identifying this significant market gap, they were inspired to develop a digital platform capable of transforming and streamlining these processes, enabling global retailers and brands to operate more efficiently and transparently. Accordingly, Hung and Chiu established a software division, which in 2010 was spun off as a separate company, CBX Software (“CBX”).[4]

Growth/expansion

edit

Soon after founding its software business, Hung and Chiu quickly earned the trust of major retailers and the company steadily expanded its client base, especially among brands and retailers across North America and Europe. To better serve its growing customer footprint and strengthen its market presence, the company established regional offices in North America in 2012 and in Europe in 2018.

In 2022, the company partnered with EQT AB[5], a Swedish global investment firm specializing in private equity, growth equity, and infrastructure. With EQT’s investment and support, the company continued its rapid growth and regional expansion. Later that year, it rebranded as TradeBeyond to reflect its mission to empower brands and retailers to go beyond traditional PLM solutions.[6]

In 2023, the company acquired Pivot88[7], a prominent provider of quality, compliance, and traceability solutions, serving major clients such as Adidas, Asics, Canadian Tire, Hugo Boss, Skechers, Under Armour, Gerard Fres[8] and ITFAS[9]. This strategic acquisition strengthened TradeBeyond’s capabilities and further solidified its leadership in delivering comprehensive end-to-end solutions for brands and retailers. Together, the combined platform enables clients to streamline and efficiently manage their private label supply chains, reinforcing the company's commitment to innovation and excellence in supply chain management.[10]

As of October 2025, TradeBeyond serves more than 100 global brands and retailers, including Safeway, Kmart, Lidl, ICA, Walgreens Boots Alliance[11], Carrefour Global Sourcing[12], DFI Retail Group[13], Otto International[14], Tokmanni-Europris[15], Aldi, Autozone, Lululemon, Michael Kors, Nordstrom, Oakley, Ralph Lauren, Zalando, United Legwear & Apparel[16], Wunsche Group[17], OBI[18] and many others.[19]
