Add some color with UTF8 ...

What about adding icons like:

  • Icon fonts are not standardized, and meaning of these different renderings of icons can vary significantly across cultures (most well-known example: Swastika; other examples: "pistol" U+1F52B, "pile of poo" U+1F4A9). The use of textual English language implies knowledge and understanding of English to some degree, while iconography is not limited to this context and thus are much more open to interpretation, which I wouldn't want in a wiki/knowledge base.
  • Furthermore, I find that icons are distracting from the information they supposedly provide, as they add more cruft to parse before getting to the important bits.
  • Lastly, I have yet to find a mainstream physical keyboard that has a key for U+2753, while most keyboards layouts that I know do support immediat input of the ascii characters used in this wiki's markup.

While the question mark is quite common across languages, I think that is one of only few cases where an icon is unambiguous. I don't see what other icons would fit (if any) for the other list items whilst also being unambiguous, non-distracting and universally available for page editors.

Add categories link

Right now you're never going to find categories info unless you know to look for it. Can we link to https://wiki.postgresql.org/wiki/Special:Categories on the main page?

Renaming alternative language section link

To be consistent, I suggest changing "日本" (Japan, the country) to "日本語" (Japanese, the language) in the "Alternate Languages" section. Nicolas.barbier 21:01, 22 May 2011 (UTC) yes, 日本 → 日本語, also I want to add 한국어 link. and also 中国 -> 中国语(Chinese).

BigreSQL additions

Hi ALL

I have added big para on BigreSQL, But look like it is not saved hence writing once again.

Bigresql = PostgreSQL engine + ProgresDB + BigData 

That is what I have visulazing and I am finding it is future for Postgres as opensource DB and it can take on any Appliance in that case and also support the Schema free Database.

I have complete a though process on this. I am interested to development of same before that I like to get community view on this,

Depend on response I will start giving detail design here. though I have already submiited my thought to Posgres Development team also.
