Knight in the white trenchcoat

Battle City. . .

(closed to the public)

My plan is working perfectly. I'm on my way to reclaim my title and no one can defeat me. Yugi was the first to duel and I can watch first hand what he is like with other duelists. The odds are working for me because now I have an undefeatable card at my disposal and no  other card can defeat it. I was told about the other two and now it's only a matter of time as they reveal themselves.

I'm looking at a way to better improve the uploading time of the system, but there is an issue with the system logging off at the strangest times. It could be just cellphone interference and hopefully soon corrected. Everything else is working fine.

Preparations. . .

I was going through some old files just to make sure that I had everything that I needed and I found something interesting. Good thing that I'm going to have that demolished. I really don't want it around. Now to get the permits to finish it off in a controled manner. It's an eyesore and it's needed to come down anyway. I almost forgot about the stupid thing but I can't leave it in it's present state. I think it's better off at the bottom of the ocean where it can become an artifical reef. The trouble is that I don't want any of the marine life harmed so a barrier has to be in place to keep them out until the job's done. The concussion itself will create a problem so some planning has to be done to minimize the concussion wave. That alone will kill any fish around for nearly a mile if it's uncontrolled and honestly, I really don't feel like paying a hefty fine to NATO or WWaEPA* just because of some stupid mistake. Even the company has to answer to a higher authority.

On a personal note, my online friend is here in Japan, but I can't visit him. I have too much to do and I have my reservations about meeting someone that I met online so soon. Although the thought is intriguing, I hope he enjoys his stay here in Japan. It seems that his job is just as involved as mine is.

School today is just like any other day so there is nothing to report on that end. I did promise to update my journal so here it is.

Personal endevours. . .

I apologize for the delays in entries. I'm very busy and even more so now. My brother and I are working hard for now and there is a lot to do. Sadly I really have nothing to report at this time. On a personal level, I'm outraged, tired and simply just overwhelmed. Oh well. You can't have an omlette untless you break a few eggs.

I have never really been any good about talking about general things. I generally prefer to have a focused discussion. My attorneys informed me that I was revealing a little too much. I can't change what I said in the past, but I can prevent myself from making the same mistake. Why is it that our lives are never our own? Talk about a pain.

The process of illimination begins. . . (PRIVATE ENRTY)

It didn't take long for my proposal to take effect. I was pleased with the results. Now I can start working on the project that I have been wanting to do for some time now. First things first, gathering the necessary information to begin. My brother decided to help by taking the initiative to send out the invitations. I still had to test the module for the solid state imaging on the PDS-200. Some fine tuning needed to be done and that was simple enough to do. Swapping out the graphics card and the processor was the best idea yet to ensure safer handling.

Since the chipset is much smaller and easier to replace, I can now put in the satellite tracking chipset that will allow my satellites to link up and display when a duel is in progress. This way, when Battle City is finally underway, I can see for myself who is defeated, how many cards they have won and how many have been eliminated from the tournament. Each duelist will have to input thier data once they received their own PDS-200. Since only a small amount of these units will be produced, it's only fitting that this tournament will be the kickoff for my new technology.

A grand celebration for a grand peice of equipment which will most likely be the necessity for any duelist if they are serious players. Domino will be the battle ground. The world will be our stage. I had to trash the virtual duels because of some issues with the solid state imaging not performing the way it was supposed to. These pods didn't go to waste. If it wasn't for the setback, there would be no headway and the PDS-200 would be a reality. In six weeks, Battle City will be underway and Kaiba Corp will be back on top once again.

Funny. . .

Normally I wouldn't give in to small pranks, but I had to laugh at this one. Some student decided to play a little game with another student during break. The challange was simple, to move this die from the cup to his right hand without touching the cup in any way. I must say, it would take an idiot to fall for that. Oh I spoke too soon. One just did.

Pets?

My brother asked me one of the strangest questions I hadn't heard since we were little. He wants a pet. We don't have the time for one. He's going to be just as busy as myself come Summer Break. Besides I'm not going to have a slobering, smelly, hyper animal running around and tearing things up in the house. Maybe when I graduate things will be different and he can have his pet. But until then, the answer is no.

He pouted at my answer. The reaction didn't surprise me. He pretty much reacted the way I would predict he would react. He's much more attached to sentimental things than I am. He's also much more sensitive to other people than I am. I didn't like telling him no, but it's best for the animal.

Even though we are well off finacially, I choose to work to secure our future. The company isn't going to run itself.

Keeping up with schedules

Now that we have a working prototype that uses the new polymers, it's time to test it out. I have less than a month to have it out and circulating, so time is of the essence. I'm pleased with the feel of this working model, now to test the system itself.

It seems that there is a slight hardware glitch, but nothing I can't handle. The processor is a little too slow for the applications that I want to use it for. Since the processor was fine before, it seems that with the new configuration, something was sacrificed. It's not a big issue, just a minor setback.

I'll have to use the processor that I had originally used for the first prototype and since the design wasn't as practical as I would have liked, this new model is much better and the reaction time is superb.

One of my developers suggested that I use the ATI graphics card with a running Monster sound card. I was already thinking the same thing when he suggested it to me. That's about all I'm going to say about the hardware specs of the PDS-200. Needless to say, I'm very proud of this model.

It took me a few days to correct the problems within the board and now that I have sole control, there is no need for me to have another. I have shareholders, but none that can make final decisions. School is pretty much a sure thing now. The troubles with my scores have finally been corrected and the headmaster apologized for the inconvinience. Naturally, with anything that is held electronically, the school should look into a better firewall protection program. I offered one of my encryption programs and he accepted. Good thing that the records are also kept in hard copy just in case of such a mishap. Needless to say, it didn't take long for the school to figure it out.

On a personal note, I managed to get my brother a tutor over the summer. As much as he hates acedemics, it's imparitive that he keeps up with his studies. This is to ensure his place in K.C. when he is ready to assume his place. He's already the Vice President, he's just not able to assume any official duties until he's old enough to accept the challenge. I have confidence in him that he'll do fine. For the moment, he's in charge of making sure that the customers are satisfied with the products that we supply. He's learning.

My assistant has requested some time off to take care of a family issue and he informed me that he needs at least three days. I granted those days to him. He's done a splendid job taking care of the company while I was away, but it was unfortunate that he wasn't able to fend off the Big 5. He didn't have the power. However, with his help, we did find out their true motive and for that, I am grateful to him. He even informed me of the traitors within my security staff. They have all been released from duty due to his help.

I must thank the loyal remaining staff. I figured a company dinner is appropriate.

I have noticed that there are some things going on in Live Journal that I thought I would look in to. I thought that maybe I should spruce up my web page now that I have the time.
Studying

New Study Methods. . .

I had to visit the office once I got to school. It seems that my academic scores are in question. I don't see how that's possible since I have done all the required courses that were asked of me and I didn't cheat on the exams. Why are they questioning it now!? Something wasn't right. Has someone tried to change my scores? Impossible. It's a T2 line and it's hard to hack into unless they know the port number and the odds of finding that is about a million to one. No one is that good. They did say that they were going to look into the matter so I'm grateful for that. In the mean time, I will continue my studies the way I have always been.

I went to my class and there was someone that was sitting in the desk next to me that I have never seen before. He calls himself Ootogi. I find him annoying, but no one to worry about. As long as he keeps his distance from me, I'll be fine. He seems more interested in the girls in the class than he is at trying to engage in a conversation with me. I was fine with that arrangement.

It seems that my reputation of being a loner has finally sunk into the heads of the masses that I can actually study in peace. Being busy all the time makes a person distant. I don't have anything in common with anyone here in the first place.

Good thing is, I don't have to participate in extra curricular activities.
Thinking

Clearing out the old. . .

I was going through my database and found a lot of things that shouldn't have been there. I made a huge sacrifice for my brother. I made a lot of mistakes in the past and it's time to clear out those mistakes. It's time I took my life back now that I managed to get rid of those that stood in my way and tried to take what is rightfully mine. Whether or not they agree to it isn't up to them to decide anylonger. They are gone and that's all that matters to me.

For the moment, I wanted to take a break from the projects to help me clear my head a little. Looking at curcuits for twelve hours straight tends to make me feel a little too detached. Besides, I figured that my brother would like to help me out a little. He's good at spotting the useful things.

Getting the equipment ready. . .

I spoke with my leading researchers and they said that they can streamline the holographic imagery. I was excited to hear this news. Isono made sure that he kept my brother busy while I worked. He said that he was going to take him to the arcade. I don't exactly like the idea, but my brother seemed excited. I really couldn't tell him no. After all that he's been through, a break is a good idea. Just because I choose to work doesn't mean that he has to put his life on hold.

I have a lot of work and I want to make sure that the system can be put to the test before actual production can begin. I happen to like the idea of a completely portable dueling system. The name will have to come once the patents are cleared. For the moment, I just dubbed it the PDS 200. I canabalized one of the old holgraphic imaging systems that was originally used for military applications and used parts of the satellite relays and came up with a new design. It's pretty bulky for now, but I'm sure with a little work we can get it smaller and lighter. RIght now, it's as heavy as three text books and isn't very practical. The servos are too big and the scanner isn't ready for heavy use. It overheats too fast.

I need to come up with a good way to cool it off. Back to the drawing board. I am determined to make this work. This is going to be my best work yet.

Later on I plan on taking a little break. I think I'll watch a movie with my brother. I haven't had much time to spend with him and I figured that I could get some of my school work done so I won't have to worry about it durring holiday from school. Damn stipulations. I think we are going to have fun with this project. Now if I can get the others done, I would be set. I will wait on the plans for the second one when my brother comes back. . .
