but instead of thinking about it as part of some greater plan, she probably thinks it was just to spend time with her and have an "adventure".

and it's in, like, the most gentle possible way. She doesn't even directly blame them for it even though it's their fault, just says "we" can't mess up. and reiterates how much she has enjoyed their adventures. and thanks them for walking her home.

but the whole conversation reads like she's trying to bring Kris back to the reality that people are in real danger now.

Zoro is the strongest Straw Hat (without counting Luffy) but Luffy didn't decide to recruit him because of his strength.

Luffy knew all about Zoro's strength and still wasn't sure if he wanted him to invite him on his crew. As himself said,he would invite him only if Zoro was a good person:

Then, Luffy witness Zoro's willingness to eat rice balls that have been thrown to the ground and being grateful to the little girl for the food she offered him;

And he finds out that Zoro got himself imprisoned by saving this same little girl:

It's only after these two related scenes that Luffy makes up his mind and decides that he wants Zoro to his crew.

Luffy didn't choose Zoro as a crewmate for his reputation or his strength. He chose him because of his kindness.

And that says a lot about Luffy, Zoro and their shared values.

In a previous post I talked about how many people tend to misunderstand Zoro and Nami’s relationship, especially those who only watch the anime. The anime often emphasizes more immediate and recognizable dynamics, while overlooking others, and unfortunately, the interactions between the swordsman and the navigator are often the ones that get lost. The most recent example is Egghead, but this has actually been happening throughout the entire series. Their moments often get cut, from smaller exchanges and bits of dialogue to more meaningful scenes, including one of my personal favorites from Arlong Park.

It’s a simple gesture, but an incredibly powerful one: Zoro giving Nami a thumbs down during a tense moment, silently telling her in his own way that Arlong is going down, that she doesn’t need to worry. And it’s especially important because, even if it’s implicit that he’s fighting for her, actually seeing him reassure her personally makes it all the more meaningful, it just warms your heart. It's in these quiet, understated moments that their dynamic truly shines.

like. oh my godddd oH MY GOD. zoro doesn’t tend to verbalize his feelings, which is why a LOT of his character writing is contained in the things other characters say about/to him. so lucci + sanji’s words are ABSOLUTELY meant to be a reflection of zoro’s inner feelings in egghead.

also, in chapter 331, zoro gets a “…” speech bubble when usopp is talking about being a burden, which is generally one piece speak for “i have unspecified thoughts on this subject that i’m not voicing.” i think it is due to usopp’s talk of weakness, since like usopp, zoro also thinks about weakness a hell of a lot.

usopp felt he was a burden on the crew, now zoro is feeling the same way. so i’m pretty damn sure the zoro crashout is going to reflect usopp’s arc in w7. ohhhh goddd.

This is actually such a crucial part of healing from neglect and abuse and I have to add to this.

Because indeed, people who like you will not roll their eyes and sigh at the idea of accommodating your needs, they will value your voice and be upset with you about injustice done to you, not at you for "being difficult". They will be happy when you find a way to live a better life, and help you to get there. If you are struggling, someone who loves you wants to see you smile, not tell you to smile because "you have it so good".
