What's in my trusty leather jacket?

This is pretty cool; a little group dedicated to what's in ones pockets.

So, for the hell of it: here's what's in my leather jacket:

(for those interested, this is an 80s style biker jacket, complete with the zippers and apaulets)

LEFT POCKET: grocery receipt (from when I bought my new steel toed boots yesterday)
INNER LEFT POCKET: my collection of used bus tickets; a pack of Excel peppermint gum; my paystub from work; two pens (one black, one blue)
RIGHT POCKET: my minidisc player; earphones; a receipt from Greyhound
INNER RIGHT POCKET: my cellphone
FRONT POCKET: another pen

I've been wearing this along with my trusty pack.

I've been carrying all kinds of stuff in my Carhartt Arctic Coat.

I keep my phone in one of the velcro chest pockets and the iPod in the other. If it gets too cold I move the pod to the zippered pouch inside the coat. The velcro pocket inside is large enough for a small journal, wallet, and pen. The side pockets, although not sealable, are extremely deep. You can put a liter sized bottle of water in one and jog without the bottle falling out.

The coat is extremely warm. I have the optional fur lined hood and matching Arctic Bib Overall (which also has great pockets) and can sleep in beds made of snow in subzero temps.

Hey I know no one has posted here in awhile but I like the concept of this community so I'll post what I carry. I'm just glad I'm not the only one out there that carries this much stuff with them everywhere.

In my bag:
Cell phone - Nokia
Laptop - Dell Latitude and case with my dvd/cd-r rom, cords
Sony Minidisc player - I got the new one that carries 45 hours on one disc so I only carry one disc now and earphones
My Journal - it's almost full
Izone camera
Sony Digital camera with cords
tape recorder - just in case i have an interview or want to work on one
pencil case with pens, markers, sharpies, glue, scissors, pencils, crayons - i like to doodle and stick things in my journal and date stamp to mark when i do what i do in my journal
girl scout cookies - well i'm running out of these so i'll just carry other snacks like brownies and cookies
something to drink - usually dr. pepper, orange slice, or a redbull (i rarely drink red bulls)
keys in this little blue pouch
wallet
bus schedules
flute music (I practiced at my boyfriend's house yesterday. I normally don't carry this around.)

I'm currently seeking:
a Sidekick so I won't have to carry my laptop with me everywhere. I like having internet accessable.
a backpack to carry all this. Something cheap and affordable and looks adorable and not bulky. I have a good bag but it only has one strap and hurts me.

That's all for me. I'm sure there's more but I forget.

Hello, everyone. I just joined this community. =)
My name is Steve and I live in So. Cal.
I just had a question about the i-river mp3 players.
I'm looking into buying a i-River H320 20GB mp3 player probalby tomorrow or on monday. (it's on sale and I just received a best buy gift card with 100 bucks in it! w00t). I've been wanting to buy this model for foreeevver.
I know that it has the ability to store and access digital photos but does anyone know if you can set things up so that a certain picture can be displayed while a certain song is playing?
Ex: the picture of ur favorite band when their songs are being played.
thanks for ur help.

Hola, dead community.

Just picked up this bag for gadget-friendly travel. It's pretty rad. Holds my Compaq Evo N400c with or without the drive/docking station. PDA slot. Nifty neoprene cellphone pocket. MP3 player pocket with a headphone line hole. And plenty of other pockets and space and whatnot. And all very sturdily constructed. Pretty reasonably priced, too.

Hopefully it will give the TSA fits when I hit the friendly skies in a couple of weeks.

Also, check out this thread at Engadget for more gadget bag recs.

All right here's the challenge:

I picked up this bad boy randomly in the mall the other day:
http://www.ixchel.net/details.php?…

I had seen it before online so it surprised me when I bumped into it.

Anyways

I love how it looks but it's slightly lacking in features. The strap is just canvas, the bag is made of some waterproof material, corduroy, and canvas (so it's a bit flimsy), and there's a bad shortage of pockets/compartments.

First of all, is there any way I can make the strap less flimsy? It collapses and just bunches up whenever I pick up my bag and I need to find some way to help it keep it's shape. I envision something like a plastic or rubber covering that I could buy or slip over it. If there is such a thing, where could I get one?

Second, is there any way to help make the bag a bit sturier so my books don't just become horizontal in my bag whenever I put them in there and so that the bag retains its shape when I pick it up? I had thought of maybe fitting some of the plastic from one of the flimsy 3-ring binders on the bottom but that definitely wouldn't be enough.

I'm guessing putting pockets on would be pretty straightforward. I also want to put a layer of fabric on the inside so that I can have a thin, large compartment in the main chamber. Hopefully.

This bag is going to kick ass

thx a lot
