Anyone still post here? I'm up to game with new people, and possibly find a good 2v2 AT partner. My last at partner is moving, and won't have internet access for 6 months (and we just made it into the top 100, damn.) Anyway, I like ladder, I play some customs, not a lot of DotA (but i do play.) I play a ton of Ninja vs Samurai, and I'm (further) developing the new version of it. Hit me up! Nephilhim on Lordaeron, Clan Rvns.
Are there any single player custom RPG maps that make use of the zoning feature? Cos I have never seen any besides the official one. I know it's a difficult system, but it works, doesn't it?
Im working on a map based on White Wolf's Exalted. And I need alpha testers. Basically I need you to set aside some time, come onto bnet and tell me if you find any kinks or glitches in the map so far. Any takers? Im looking to run a game or three today so hit me up please@
So I got a new computer, much more powerful than my old one. As well my connection speed is a lot better. It was 11ms, now its 54ms. But I'm also now in a new network behind a cable modem and router in one. When playing DOTA I'm getting lots of lag spikes. Everything stops and then moves super fast for a second or two. Any ideas?
Ok, here's the deal - My fella and I love playing the custom map Zoator TD: Final. I'm relatively new to playing this map whereas my guy is more experienced... I digress - We try our best to get through the whole map but we find that there are so many dickheads out there who just do not listen to reason and will spend the whole time shouting "OMG U SUX!!!" along with a whole list of names etc. It goes without saying I have never been able to get that far with this map after so many people bitching at each other and quitting out of sheer stupidity and/or out of spite. And once a pile quit the game, well, then we're pretty much screwed no matter how we look at it.
An example of this map is going wrong: My guy usually plays grey (which, as you'll know, is the last line of defense on this particular map) which means his strategy is to SAVE and hope that the first and second lines of defense don't leak any creeps for the first 10 rounds. This, for some reason, pisses a lot of people off and they quit the game early on (not before shouting "GREY YOU FAG!!") because they just don't get that grey is meant to be saving and not wasting money on weak towers trying to defeat creeps that others should've wiped out already!
Anywho, I've rambled on a bit here - My whole reason for posting was to ask if anyone here has ever played this map. If so, (or if you haven't and you're willing - and mature enough - to try it out) would you like to get together sometime and play this map for one evening maybe this weekend? I'm looking for a total of eight other people to play. I always play green and my guy plays grey (as mentioned above) so there's pretty much one slot for every line available! It'd be a private game so there's no way of silly little idiot joining and ruining it for the rest of us. I'm desperate here guys! I just want to have one decent game on that map with my guy and other mature people.
Leave a comment here if you're interested or add me on Battle.net (I'm on the US East server AND the Europe server as "Tourmaline") or, if all else fails, add me on Xfire (privateskylark)
Sorry for the long post. Thanks for reading and I apologise if I've just confused the hell out of some people who have never played this map before :]
Is it possible for me to get the code for my CD? I got a new computer and can't play because I don't have the code for my particular CD. I don't have the manual or the jewel case and sleeve to send in. I got the game over 3 years ago and have moved twice. So, anyone know if I have any other recourse?
So I've recently gained a newfound passion for playing Warcraft 3, almost entirely online as it's just my habit to play things online. I'm normally found on U.S. East under Grimmus, although I do have an account by the same name on West, if anyone wants to catch me sometime.
I've got a sort of love/hate thing with DoTA; I started up on Random Allpick matches so I could get a feel for a variety of heroes, but quickly learned that it isn't too uncommon to be matched up against a lot of good heroes while your own side gets the crappy ones, and it doesn't help that the Sentinel always have their random picks first. Inevitably, in a game that I'm either winning or losing, people leave and the rest of the game is pretty much shot. So I've picked up more on Allpick matches and things are usually more enjoyable because, even if I'm losing, I'm having fun with a hero of my choice. I get discouraged by the poor balance at times though, how some specific heroes can easily nuke the hell out of anyone while others are more support heroes when nobody really likes to play support or backup.
I play other custom maps when I find the type I enjoy, Battleships is usually pretty cool, Hero Siege maps are entertaining for a while, etcetera. I've tried Tides of Blood a few times, and although I enjoy that it isn't a constant rush-nuke-flee fest that DoTA is, it's also discouraging to have such a lack of variety in the heroes, and the community surrounding ToB isn't the most friendly out there. Whenever I have some friends on, I'll join them for whatever maps they have to host because it's all usually a lot more fun with friends anyway.
Catch me on AIM, MSN, or in game, I'd be interested in getting some rounds of whatever going.
