Ars Technica: Amazon Sidewalk shares your Internet with your neighbors

TURN THIS OFF. RIGHT NOW. This is a privacy and security nightmare that can make up to 500 Mb a month available to your neighbors. Amazon claims it's encrypted, and it doesn't know whose network you're using.

I call bullshit. This is exploitable as fuck and it puts unknown devices with unknown security measures and unknown applications on your network without your knowledge and consent, and it is being quietly turned on on all Alexa, Ring, and Echo devices without notifying you.

If you have Amazon Alexa, Ring video doorbells, or an Echo smart speaker, TURN AMAZON SIDEWALK OFF. RIGHT NOW. Search "turn Amazon Sidewalk off" on any search engine and you'll find plenty of tutorials.

But it also gives me some extra time to slow down and think. When I think, I sometimes journal, and this particular topic is worth noting down for the ages. This particular topic came out of a breakfast conversation with my dad yesterday morning. He is agnostic, and although I have dabbled in various religions, I adhere to none of them and come back to agnosticism.

Why?
