Pure... ROCK.

Holy crap on a stick!

You know how I said I was gonna be in the paper? I'm actually ON the paper.

Dude... I am not shitting you guys... look at it! Aaaah! When I first saw it sitting on the table, my parents standing around it and laughing out of pure shock and amazement, I seriously jumped like two feet back. It's so fucking big! I had no idea I'd be on the cover. I thought it'd be like, a little feature or something. I'm waiting for people on the street to recognize me and be like, "hey, you're the talented chick!" And I'll be like, "yah, biotches. Want an autograph?" I'm waiting for my favorite bands and Helen Slater to call me and thank me for endorsing them. Holy crap. But big thanks is due to my mother, who sent out the press release that got me the article, and Edward Guthmann, my new personal Jesus. I was really worried the article would come out like crap, but it was terrific. Really. He chose all the best quotes and got through a really good, accurate image of who I am. Shit, man.

I'm on the cover of the paper... aah... I'm famous er something. Damn.

By the way, I've discovered that Nellmedia.com (all my sites included) has been getting an average of 17,000 visitors a month and 500+ visitors a day!!! Thanks, Weezer.com!!!

Oh, check it. My picture is bigger than Jeremy Irons'.

I be in paper, yah.

Check it, I'm gonna be in the San Francisco Chronicle! Everyone who, uh, lives in San Fran: keep an eye on the Saturday paper. Once it's online I'll put it here.

Everything is pretty good, I've had no time whatsoever for anything other than school. I don't hate my LiveJournal, or my non-school friends, I just am so busy it hurts my brain. It's exciting, though, to be part of something. I'm kind of feeling belong-y, surprisingly enough. I'm really comfortable at school and have no problem speaking up to my teachers and meeting people and such. Tonight I went to this thing Art & Film, I went to it last year but stopped a while ago, with my peeps Clara (one of the few people at school with a very individual sense of fashion), Miriam and Christine. Tons of people from school were there, I got to chill with this groovy chicka Lucia a bunch, as well as other people. And at lunch there was an open mic and these kids had a spoken word thing and there was a guy playing drums, it was awesome. Just the fact that there was an *event* like that at school, at lunchtime, made it so cool. Lucia and my dawg Jaime were being square and sat on their asses in the cafeteria, thinking I would magically appear. They missed all the fun.

I'm gonna post pictures from school, soon. Tomorrow, probably, since it's gonna be my "net day" (the first one in a while). I snapped shots of lots of my friends, twas fun. People kept coming up to me and asking if I was taking a picture of them. They were all pissed off and stuff.

It's amazing, I really do have social groups. I no longer have that awful feeling that I have nowhere to go, no-one to see and I'm utterly trapped in my own world of not knowing anyone. Now I have so many places to go and so many things I can do, it's overwhelming. There are so many friendships to pursue and so many binders to keep track of that I don't have time to think about how many things are missing from my life (though a good deal of them are no longer missing). I wish I could just drop 2 or 3 of my classes - then it would be perfect. Oh, and I wish I had a band and a romantical friend. Once I have those, *then* I'll be perfect. Oh, and I wanna learn the drums. Luckily all these yet-acquired things are somewhat within my reach, so it shouldn't be too long before I have them. I'm glad I didn't go to school before now, though. Now is the right time in my life for it. Plus middle school is hell.

Oh, Jesus Chris, whatchupto? I want you to meet my people. Kyle and I went to this Sparta concert and it was AWESOME!! Sparta was so phenomenal, I couldn't believe it. And I got Tony's autograph!

In other news: You guys smell like old soup.

That was a long entry.

My New Life

Holy shit, y'all. So much has happened since I last wrote it's not even funny. My compy's been away in boxes, so I haven't been able to write (must... own... laptop), but I've been so busy I don't think I woulda been able to anyway.

We got to San Francisco on the 24th, the flight was a pain in the ass cause they super-checked us at the airport and made me take off my shoes and frisked me and shit. But we made it, luckily, and got here in time to buy me a swanky camoflauge 3-ring binder. The 26th was my first day of SOTA as a Freshman in the Visual Arts discipline. Exciting stuff. I got put into the second Visual class, a sort of spillover class, but it sounds like my teacher is better. My teachers aren't too swift in terms of spelling and grammar and some of them are a little sketchy, but some of them are pretty decent and it seems like the kids are surprisingly cool. Lots of old school punks. No emo kids, though. I'm amazed at how well I'm adjusting to school, it's going pretty well so far, despite the WAY too much homework. I've got some friends in the making, so that's good. There's so much more to tell, but I'm not even gonna try.

Tomorrow is my sister's move-in day for Sophomore College, which is a pre-school program which is like early college with one really long course. Tonight we went to MOMA and saw Lewis Carroll's photography (awesome) and went to Amoeba and bought Sparta and Moth's CDs (awesome). And I have these weird things... we're not sure whether they're hives or flea bites, but they're red and itchy and extremely annoying. Mostly on my arms and legs. Oy vey.

I've got all this awesome new resale clothing. I feel older, somehow. Now that I'm a freshman. It's odd. But very good.

I am the biggest idiot ever

I totally didn't know Matt was playing NY... I totally could have gone... I shit you not, we were actually considering going to the city on the 17th anyway! Practically planning on it! How was I supposed to know he'd suddenly play NY out of nowhere? I thought he was still in LA! Oh god. Damnit!!!

AAAH! There are only so many sites I can check every single fucking day! I wish someone could make a mailing list telling me whenever my favorite bands are playing anywhere. GODDAMNIT!!

I was made with all the latest technology... search for new wave records that are rare.

I haven't written in way too long, I know. I've just been busy with other stuff and too lazy to blog. I had my birthday on the 5th and we went into NYC on the 4th. I got tons of awesome stuff for my birthday (we had a mini-party with my grandma and family, my mom got Spongebob party stuff and sushi and cake). CDs such as Return of the Rentals, SG's Pinecone Album, Doolittle, Rock and Roll Part Three, Ramones first album, plus lots of shirts (=w=, Ozma, TSG and Chester from Sifl & Olly).

But best of all, I got a US-224 and a high quality microphone with stand, meaning I can record now!! How exciting is that! After tons of it not working with my computer (I have to use my mom's laptop for now... it's all pretty crappy, but it works now) I've recorded a number of songs, I think around five. They need some touching up but they're damn awesome!! It's like I told my dad - it's as though I've needed to pee for a number of years and now I finally got to the bathroom! Now I can have three guitar parts at the same time and do background vocals and everything. It's all very cool. I'm gonna mp3ify them sometime soon and put them up on the net for y'all to hear. It's all sort of power poppy stuff with lots of influence from Weezer, Ozma, Special Goodness (this one song is very "I'd Like to Know"-ish) and The Pixies with shades of emo and surf (weird, I know). I plan to do all sorts of stuff, like comedy songs, weird keyboard songs, surf instrumentals (I've already done one called "Batray Rock") as well as my serious, emotional, melodic stuff. My goal for the year is to start a new wave-ish band. Speaking of which, are you reading, Cleanly Shaven Jesus (assuming you still are cleanly shaven)? Every good new wave band needs a keyboard/synth player... ::hint hint::

...I'll give you cookies!

So, I'm coming back to San Fran on the 24th. Everyone cheer and cry at the same time! It'll mean leaving behind lots of free time, the beach and Danny, but it means going towards high school, a chance at a social life and a band, Tapioca tea, recording more music and APE 2003... haha! Not to mention a shitload of cool concerts. I mean, Sparta and Thursday are playing Slim's just in the first couple weeks of September. Slim's gets the best bands ever - Aquabats, Flogging Molly, Hives, Vines, even Weezer a few years ago.

School starts the 26th. I finished my reading journal for The Loved One (that's a fucking nasty book... aaah... too much dead stuff) and I'm working on A Separate Peace. I learned a lot of math this summer, probably not nearly enough, but hey, whatcha gonna do? I'll sit in the back of class looking smart and not talking and hopefully I'll do all right. I'm generally very intelligent, I'll do great in English, but I really haven't been learning any math these past few years. At least there's no PE... this is why I'm going to SOTA. They don't give a shit about physical education. All you gotta do is do some PE-equivilant thing outside of school (in my case, hip hop classes and maybe something else) and you get credits for it. Of course, this means nothing if I hate the rest of SOTA...

Today this chick IMed me, she said that she loved my Pat site and that it was awesome (everyone's been so nice!) and that I "make him sound like he really is", because she's met him. I asked what she meant and it turns out that she lived really near him when he was in Oregon a few years back and that her dad fixed his van!! She told me some really interesting things about him. She said he had a number of cars and they were ALL light green!!!!! AAAAH! How awesome is that?? That's so something I would do, if I was into cars. Pat is obsessed with the white and green. Dude, I'm telling you. We have a spiritual connection. I mean, really! We even have the same favorite color scheme. Oh, check this shit out - I was just telling my sister the other day how cool pure white things are, it's my new favorite design thing, next to stars. I brought it up cause I was looking at the Rentals CD, which has a white jewel case and liner notes, it makes it look like it would taste like white chocolate (you know EXACTLY what I mean). Witness Pat buying totally white drums like a day later!! I'm psychic or some shit, man. Trippy. Really, check Karl's Corner. He has white drums now. His drums are always the coolest looking drums. The blue plastic ones, the red ones, the green & white ones and now these.

Speaking of drums, the other day Ryan at camp brought in a drumset (and black SG guitar and this bass, forget what kind). I was totally stoked for a while because of it, but I hardly got to play them, and when I did they kept saying how stupid I was that I didn't know what to do! WTF? It really pissed me off. That was a BAD day for a number of reasons. Danny got all scared cause I cried on the phone.

Oh, every morning I wake up to the Special Goodness version of "The Story is Wrong" with my funky fresh new alarm clock ^_^ A good way to wake up: "one... two.. three... four..."

My new obsessions: synthpop, surf instrumental, spacey stuff.

Aaah, Daily Show. I'll be back with pictures!

Hard Core!

Hooha

Man, I haven't written in ages. I should get my LiveJournal. I've just been busy and crappy. Oh, I'm 14 now ^_^

I'm getting there. I don't suck, but I've got a ways to go.

I'm Velma, which ambiguous dyke are you? Quiz by Turi.

You are 32% geek
You are a geek liaison, which means you go both ways. You can hang out with normal people or you can hang out with geeks which means you often have geeks as friends and/or have a job where you have to mediate between geeks and normal people. This is an important role and one of which you should be proud. In fact, you can make a good deal of money as a translator.

Normal: Tell our geek we need him to work this weekend.

You [to Geek]: We need more than that, Scotty. You'll have to stay until you can squeeze more outta them engines!

Geek [to You]: I'm givin' her all she's got, Captain, but we need more dilithium crystals!

You [to Normal]: He wants to know if he gets overtime.

Take the Polygeek Quiz at Thudfactor.com

Now that's just funny.

Haha... virtual pet... that's so great...

Yo yo yo

This music is foony.

Happenings in the Special Goodnessverse: Murf has left, probably permanently. His space as bassist has been filled by none other than Scott Shriner. Gee wiz! Also, there's a bootleg up recorded at the Columbia, MD sidestage show. It's all on the SG site.

Today I did lots of math and english. Fun. Tomorrow we're going into the city for a pre-birthday day of fun ^_^ Yaaaay! Should be exciting. I'm gonna buy weird vinyl and eat dim sum.

Here's a quizzy thing I stole from this chick who likes Karl.
