I love grindr images like this, they're so awesome sauced

How could you forget this classic?
i cant believe this one is missing
some gems from my own personal “grindr is a hellpit” collection
where is "crying to bjork on the l train/relatable/are you into piss?"
in hindsight, growing up as an aromantic person who didn't know aromanticism was a thing...it woulda been really easy for me to assume that something was wrong with me, that I was "broken" or "missing" some piece of humanity.
luckily I was autistic, oblivious, and had a huge ego. it literally never occurred to me to frame it as a "me" problem. i just thought every single person i knew was a dumbass
redstonedust AND biggest-gaudiest-poltergeist are aromantic??? are all the famous tumblrinas aromantic??

Chapter 36 of Season of Blossoms is up!

In the nation of Tithly, it is custom that those of marriageable age travel to the city of Philsia for the yearly Season of Blossoms– four summer months of parties meant to provide its participants the opportunity to find their next spouse. This year will be the first year that all three siblings of the Tsylgahra family attend: Mithleem, Anli, and Lisanth.
Mithleem has been to the city of Philsia for the Season before– eight years ago, when he met his wife and mother of his two children. However, two years after her tragic death, Mithleem has decided that he’s ready to start his search for someone new. As a successful doctor, runespeaker, and war hero, he’s generated a stellar reputation among his peers, so he’s a hot commodity at parties, including one thrown by Tithly’s most renowned painter. It’s here that Mithleem is called to the bedside of the painter’s equally famous spouse, Ysaika Talorilau. They have thrown themselves off a balcony. Through healing them, Mithleem learns of a “rotting rune” that is threatening their life, and it may take someone of Mithleem’s skill to save them– in more ways than one.
Anli’s been to Philsia three times already for the Season, but she hasn’t had much luck. Unlike her older brother, she’s never been a person of much interest to the social climbers of Philsia society. However, this time she’s managed to find two men with promise, and she’s eager to find her future husband. Through every high and low of this journey, her family’s new valet and bodyguard Thyla Daschanhildi remains a constant–loyal, kind, attentive. It’s enough to make Anli wonder if her options are broader than she thought.
As the youngest Tsylgahra and the “wild child”, Lisanth has no interest in marriage. Lisanth is far more interested in racing horses, starting squabbles in the local tavern, and worrying his parents on the nights he doesn’t come home. However, he knows he can’t put off Philsia forever, and at the insistence of his mother, Lisanth grudgingly makes the journey with his siblings to the City in the Sky. After winning a horse race and exploring the darker corners of Philsia,, he’s approached by a stranger who wields charm with just a hint of danger. Only later does Lisanth come to realize that the stranger is in fact a prince– Prince Jafkar A’nesh to be exact. And when Lisanth gets entangled in a conspiracy difficult to extract himself from, it’s always helpful to have a prince on your side.
Three siblings, three tails of mischief, drama, and budding romance– all to be expected in the Season of Blossoms.

EXCERPT:
“You’re drunk,” Thyla remarked as she folded Anli’s hands between hers. She pushed her nose against Anli’s before kissing her.
“Just a little.” Anli pouted. “I’m in full combtr—control of my faculties.”
“You haven’t convinced me.” Thyla pushed some errant curls behind Anli’s ears, their foreheads pressed together. “My friends really liked you.”
“Of course they did. I’m very likeable.”
Thyla smiled. “You are. Of course you are, you silly thing.”
“Do you think the reason men have never liked me is because they secretly knew I preferred women?”
“I think men never liked you because they’re idiots.”
“You have a low opinion of men.”
“Sometimes, yes.”
“Have you ever been with a man?”
“Sexually?”
“In any way.” Anli blinked at her owlishly. “Just curious.”
“No, never. If I had been, I might dislike them even more.”
Anli laughed, then slapped Thyla’s arm. “Don’t be cruel.”
“Never.” Thyla grasped Anli’s face and kissed her, and Anli completely forgot what else there was to discuss.
literally just start posting about your OCs. you don’t even have to “properly” introduce them just make them a dedicated tag, tag them on posts that remind you of them, and then start talking about them like everyone’s supposed to already know who they are. i am not joking when i say this method works.
AND CRUCIALLY NEVER APOLOGIZE FOR TALKING ABOUT THEM. IF YOU DO NOT LOVE YOUR CREATIONS ENTHUSIASTICALLY AND UNAPOLOGETICALLY THEN WHY SHOULD ANYONE ELSE!!!!!
Mikayel Simonian was a fledgling vampire once, though he doesn’t remember how he was turned. What he does remember is waking up in the year of 1986 to a group of magical misfits with the ability to cure vampirism—with exceptions, of course. Their history as fledglings themselves combined with the power of their magic enables them to do what no normal human can: hunt vampires. Over forty years, Mikayel has brought an end to more fledglings than he can count, and even a few full-fledged vampires. He’s seen most things. What he’s never seen before is a vampire deliberately seeking his coven out with a new fledgling in tow to beg them for a cure. Because a cure for the fledgling would mean turning her into a vampire hunter. But this handsome and unusually principled vampire named Erich Krüger seems insistent, so Mikayel and his team agree to try.
People have started dying on Mikayel’s home turf, and new fledglings are the cause. Whoever is controlling them is wily and secretive, and neither Mikayel nor his fellow hunters can track the fledglings down once they vanish into the night. It may require the help of a foe. Erich claims to know the vampire villain and has insight into what he has planned. But no one has ever teamed up with another vampire to hunt a vampire—Mikayel may be the only one crazy and desperate enough to try.

EXCERPT:
Mikayel still had Zeinab’s phone number in his phone, though he’d renamed it DO NOT CALL HER YOU FUCKING IDIOT after she tore him a new one last time he’d called her depressed and lonely. That was fifteen years ago, but still—he didn’t think Zeinab thought any more fondly of him now than she did back then. That said, she was an incredible hunter with sharp instincts, and he could swallow his ego if it meant saving his own skin. He just hoped she picked up when he tapped the call icon.
One ring. Two. Three. Four. At least her phone was on. He could imagine her looking at his number, contemplating whether it was worth it. Five. Maybe she was thinking about the time he interrupted their anniversary dinner to track down a fledgling nearby. Six. Or the time he took a risk on chasing down several fledglings on his own against her advice and nearly got his head bitten off. She had to nurse him back to health for a week after that snafu. Seven.
Finally a click and then her smoky voice with its light Persian accent: “You better be dying in a hospital right now to be calling me.”
“Oh my God, you actually picked up.” He realized he probably had four seconds before she hung up on him. “I am not in a hospital, no, but this is sort of a life or death situation for a friend of mine, and I need your help.”
“You have a coven in Chicago to deal with this.”
“I’m not in Chicago, I’m in Indiana. I need you in Muncie.”
“Muncie? What are you doing there?”
“Well, I’m not there yet. I will be in two hours.” Faster, if Roseline let him drive. “I think we might be dealing with a master and it’s just Roseline and me.” And Erich, if Erich was in any shape to fight. Best leave that detail out until Zeinab was in Muncie.
“It may take more than three of us.”
“Right, so if you’ve got any discreet friends you can bring from the Indianapolis coven, that’d be great.”
“Why discreet?”
“Because my coven doesn’t know I’m out here and… well, they don’t know about this whole mess, and I have to keep it that way.”
Zeinab didn’t speak for a whole ten seconds, long enough that Mikayel said, “Hello?”
“It’s so great to know that you haven’t changed at all,” she said.

IT’S LITERALLY HAPPENING LMAOOOOO
thank god vampirism is a flexible metaphor
it’s about being queer it’s about surviving assault it’s about alienation and most of all it’s about how everyone who loved you before might not be able to even look at you now, no matter how many times you try to explain that you didn’t ask to die and you didn’t ask for that death to leave you only half-eaten when it got bored of you.
This is without even mentioning the broader metaphorical implications of disease and contagion; foreign invasion; colonial or imperial violence; interpersonal abuse; generational trauma; religious trauma; violent cultural assimilation; repressed or suppressed desire; the fear of no longer being able to recognise or relate to someone you love; and on and on and on.
Vampirism is a flexible metaphor that reflects the anxieties and desires of its age and its authors, and I love that for it!
