Hey there, just starting out and working on an extended project. I write fantasy, with a realistic edge to it.

The premise:

The diary of a trainee, or side-kick as he learns what it means to be under the shadow of a hero and where his place in the world is. Marty is a recently graduated soldier training under an Ordinator, named Gracon, who is a decorated warrior.

Technicon 24 Needs Hospitality Director and Volunteers

Greetings, fellow fans of Science Fiction and Fantasy,

Technicon is looking for a few dedicated volunteers for help with Hospitality this year. In particular, we are looking for a Hospitality Director and a few volunteers to help out this bold person throughout the weekend. While the Director will need to be fairly dedicated to his or her job the whole weekend (not saying you won't have time to attend panels and events and have fun, just that you'll have voices in your head the whole time), the volunteers will be needed primarily for specific tasks and will be more free than the Director.

If you're interested in the Hospitality Director position, your duties will consist of acquiring a supply of the usual foods we have in Con Suite, acquiring a similar, though smaller, supply for the Staff Room, and ensuring that these supplies are properly managed throughout the weekend. Additionally, since we are not running hot food in Staff Suite this year, you will likely be in charge of coordinating food runs to the multitudinous restaurant-type places for the rest of the staff, so that they can eat without having to leave the hotel. Again, this should not be to arduous a task, compared to last year's duties, but it will require your attention throughout the weekend.

If you're interested in being a dedicated Hospitality volunteer, you'll be helping out the Director with the tasks I mentioned above, simple as that.

So, if you're interested in either position, please contact volunteers@technicon.org, or just show up to our meetings, which are held at 1400 on Sundays, in 300 Squires (except when we're in 302 Squires, which is right next door), Every Sunday except 4 March, from now until the Con. If you have any friends you think would be interested in these tasks, please, direct them our way as well.

Thanks much,
Jacob 'Crimson' Dawson

Since moving to Reading, PA I've had access to an excellent classic and contemp rock radio station, which has exposed me to a vast amount of music from the 70s and 80s that I'd never heard before. Needless to say, a number of White Plectrum songs are becoming more familiar to me. Now I know I had heard these before, I'm sure, but which WP songs are filks of say "Werewolf of London" or "Take the Money and Run"?
