RAMESH!

figured this might be relevant your interests!

RAMESH, the post-Voxtrot project of singer Ramesh Srivastava is loaded with emotion and with records like this, "The King", it requires a sonic smoothness, which is so deftly provided in this mixing job by Spoon's Jim Eno. Parts of the tune were crafted on a harmonium that Srivastava purchased in New Delhi—the first song he recorded on it, after having an arduous time getting it through customs. And there is something to be said about that because there is a sense of triumph that runs through the song. While it is a tender thing, there is a spirit of conquer bleeding through the steady drumbeat and sweet strums and strings.

and you can download the song here. it's lovely.

Lyrics to "I Walk Away"?

I don't know if anyone's checking this community anymore, but does anyone have the lyrics to "I Walk Away"? I can understand most of it, but there are two lines that I can't get:

-the first line of the chorus: "Oh, write me some old story about my lazy ______" Quarantine? Boyhood teens?
-the line after "And leave a trail of curses laid out in song". It sounds like: "The old [something] lingers on, so much [something something] his bad seed." WHAT IS THIS. Update: schicklove informs me this is "The old charm just lingers on, so much like history's bad seed."

Thanks so much!

has anyone but me noticed that jared left the band without an announcement? he's gone from the list of band members on the myspace and his solo project's myspace (sparrow house) says he's not making much music anymore.

THIS IS UPSETTING BECAUSE HE'S MY FAVORITE.
the myth of trust.

dream lives of ordinary people.

So who else has listened to the "Berlin, Without Return" B-side "The Dream Lives of Ordinary People"? Any thoughts? Personally, I adore it. Of the three new songs, it's my favourite by far. Hope there's a lot more stuff like that coming our way in the future.

Lyrics

Does anyone know the lyrics to these songs?

They never mean what they say
Berlin, without return
This place has got no soul, kid
This is not my bloody war
Wrecking force
Piano Song

Thanks!!!!

THE BOYS ARE BACK~

Kinda. And they've been listening to the Cure.

New Voxtrot single Trepidation Party is available for free download at Voxtrot.net.

And that picture of nine Rameshes is quite delish, if you ask me.

Voxtrot were a group five boys who lived together, traveled together,
ate together and dreamed together. Theirs was a winding path that led
from Austin to New York, New York to California, California
to London, London to France, Holland, Switzerland, Germany and
Spain, across to Mexico, and then finally home. Left with only a
pocketful of memories and a handful of the most marvelous new friends,
the boys decided to lean back and think about what the years had
brought them and what would be brought by those still to come. And
so, with the fondest of affections, they shook hands and dispersed
across the globe, vowing to notice what had gone unnoticed for so
long. And then, one day, when the last summer months of Berlin had
evaporated and all the money had been spent, Ramesh returned to Big
Salmon (the house where Voxtrot songs are built) with a borrowed Korg
Electribe and said, "What do you suppose we try this again?" And so,
as it has been happening since the beginning of time, one day folded
into the next...

FUCK GUYS I AM SO HAPPY HE'S BACK IN AUSTIN OMG
Also lol @ the Dylan refrence. Adorable.
