happenings

I had last Sunday and Monday off. I did a lot of nothing, which was nice. Went to the beach Monday and now my face is pink. =(  Went to my favorite store and found my band banquet dress! It needs some work and/or I'll need to find a few shoulderpads. If y'all have any...send them my way. Worked Tuesday til 12-6 then sat in traffic for an hour and a half and got to school in time for orientation. Jason made me dinner. =)  I brought dessert from work. Mmmm raspberry mousse cake! So yeah, I did the gig, signed up for the Catalina trip, drove home this morning. Very slow day at work. I don't just mean there weren't a lot of people buying cakes, it just seemed like I was there way longer than 6 hours. Jason is spending the weekend here and I'm excited! We're going to the beach on Saturday and Disneyland on Sunday. Hopefully my parents will be on their best behavior and not scare him away. =/

second orientation

Drove to LA on Tuesday, my day off. Got there in time to meet Jason as he was getting off work. I like my new flower, it's a bright yellow mum. Very pretty. Lunch at Denny's, then we saw Cars. I liked it. We tried to make chicken enchiladas for dinner, it worked fairly well but not terrific. Dessert was good though. I bought a piece of German chocolate cake from work and decorated it with purple icing....I wish I had taken a picture of it before we ate it. Watched a little House, then gig time. I think the first group of freshmen was more spirited than these guys, but oh well. I didn't want to leave in the morning but I eventually headed back home because I had work at 1:00pm. It was a slow day. My feet hurt. =(

not dead

I have been busy working. I had Thursday off so I drove up to USC after work Wednesday...crashed at Jason's til Friday morning. We saw X3...it was good. We tried to play pool in New/North by posing as new freshmen, and we actually got in the door but the pool equipment was not out. The orientation advisors offered to play board games with us, but we decided we'd rather leave. "They're watching Fight Club in Birnkrant, you know, where you checked in." Awesome. They gave us directions but I didn't really want to hang out with freshmen. The gig went ok. The first group of freshmen was a spirited bunch. It was a good mini-vacation, despite the bed incident. Next orientation is tomorrow and I have the day off. =) I got to deposit my first Vons paycheck today, it was exciting. My mom went to visit her mother this weekend. She's not doing too well. Her memory is going. Umm that is all.

work, Jason

Work has been enjoyable. I get to make cookies, slice bread, write on cakes, etc. I guess it's decent money for the amount of actually work I'm doing. I had Sunday off (as well as today and tomorrow) so I took the train up to LA to visit Jason. It was a great day. He fixed my website ( http://www-scf.usc.edu/~sewilson/ ), we played some Rummy, ate at the Two Nine, saw X3, played more Rummy (I let him beat me both times ;) chillaxed until I had to leave. I came home with beautiful pink lilies, muffins, and a pecan pie (which I still haven't eaten any of). Today I went to the dentist, ran around and did some errands with my mom, went to the beach.

In other news, the really awesome sunburn I got last week at the beach (read: my entire back/shoulders) has decided to peel and it's very very painful. But that's not going to stop me from going again tomorrow...after I vote of course.

I don't think there's anything left to say except for my next trip to LA is Wednesday after work until Friday morning. Two nights!! I'm excited. The justification behind this trip is the first orientation gig Thursday night. Yay.

yay summer

Jason took the Amtrak down from LA to visit me today. Much beach fun was had, even though I got a lovely sunburn. But it was definitely worth it. The parentals like him, which is always a good thing, but then again what's not to like? Actually come to think of it my ugly dog gave him the same greeting he always gave Keen, including the hiding down hallways and sneaking a glance around the corner before cowering away again.

I have one more day off tomorrow then work again on Wednesday.

I need sleep.....and lotion. Peace.

most spontaneous day ever

First off I went to get the oil changed in my car because the engine light was on. But then on my way home it was still on and I don't know why...all the other fluids look fine. So I took my other car to go visit my friend Matrice in Long Beach, and since I was more than halfway to school anyway, I decided to go surprise Jason because we had planned on having a virtual date to watch the season finale of House. I didn't know if he was at work or in a meeting so I waited around for six hours around campus. First I slept on a bench then I took a walk and found out we just happened to have a baseball game going on. So I watched a few innings. We were ahead when I left to find my dork. Needless to say, Jason was much surprised, although he had thought about doing the same thing for me, which we were both really glad he hadn't. We watched American Idol then House, which was really freaking super awesome. Today we went out to lunch then I came home. I always hate saying good bye. But I had a good time.

I'm expecting the parents sometime this evening. The house is clean (to my standards) and I think it's ready for them too. We'll see. Von's called me on Monday and hired me for a position in the bakery...I'll start when my drug test comes back. I decided not to do summer school, because the only class I was interested in taking was piano, and I can just buy some music and practice on my own if I feel the need to play.

I guess that's all.

*grumble grumble*

Parents are leaving tomorrow. I spent a good 4 hours cleaning/unpacking today. I sorted through all the clothes in my closet, collecting three and half boxes of stuff to take to the Salvation Army next chance I get down there. Also on my list of things to do is change the oil in my car and clean the garage. I wonder where our three cars and all the boxes my parents are bringing are going to go. I'm just happy I can walk in my room again.

The band's in Italy but the cool kids like Pippi and I are here in the US. I went to the beach a couple times....even though it's been cloudy. Stupid on-shore flowl. We're expecting rain tomorrow and Monday. WTF it's not supposed to rain in SoCal in May.

I miss my Jason! 19 more days til the first freshman orientation...I can make it.

untitled

I'm not dead. My finals turned out to be allright. I'm so glad to be finished with school until August. With Jason's help I moved out of my apartment. I played at commencement with the band, got paid $20, which will barely cover my gas for the drive home. It's $3.41 here in the OC if that makes anyone else feel better. After commencement I kidnapped Jason and we're having a good time celebrating school being over. The beach is nice...perfect weather as always. Called my mom this morning, she's still doing ok. Parents are leaving next Saturday. I have a lot of cleaning to do before they get here. Have to make sure I don't leave any evidence of Jason being here. I think I found my ideal summer job; my favorite store the Salvation Army is hiring. I'm excited. Sorry for the randomness.

goings on

Finals haven't killed me yet. I am very happy to report that I passed ochem and I won't have to deal with it again until the fall. I also turned in my stupid French paper, and I am done with that horrible class. Don't ever take french 330 if Szabari's teaching it. I'm doing some sort of alumni awards dinner gig this evening. Oh I did my very first Primal SCream gigs this week. During finals, we (the band) plays a little in front of one of the libraries at 10. Helps relieve some stress of finals. It just so happened that I hadn't had time the past three semesters to do those but it was fun.

So then I have two more finals....calc 2 on Monday and physics on Wednesday. I'm not really worried about either, as math comes rather easily to me and physics is mostly about thermodynamics. So yeah, I'm ready to be finished.

I hope everyone had such a lovely Cinco de Mayo as I did. Good food and good company are always appreciated.

Back to packing....ewww.
