i haven't updated this journal in months, oh man. to be honest i'm not on lj much anymore; i still check my flist regularly, but my main modes of fannish communication are twitter and tumblr.
so for those of you i haven't yet added over there, if you have them, i'm @szallj on twitter and vlieger on tumblr.
i'm also still writing and posting a decent amount of fic on my ao3, which i've stopped cross-posting here or to my fic journal, sadly.
i guess if you're wondering where i'm at, fandom-wise, and what i talk/post about on my twitter and tumblr, i'll do a bit of an update in this entry, just generally about things that are keeping me occupied and/or making me flail lately.
first of all, FALL OUT BOY HOLY SHIT. a couple of days ago i would've laughed at the idea that i'd post an update about my current fannish preoccupations and include anything to do with bandom (esp with the recent shitstorm which i dont want to talk about at all), but ugh ugh, band of my teenage heaaaaaart. way to make me smile over something bandom-related again, guys ♥
otherwise, uh, my life is basically hockey now? I HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT JONATHAN TOEWS' PERFECT DOUCHEY FACE OKAY. AND HOW SUPER, SUPER WEIRD HIM AND PATRICK KANE ARE ABOUT EACH OTHER. ALSO EVERYTHING TO DO WITH THE BLACKHAWKS EVER. OH AND YOU KNOW, MARRIED FRENCH CANADIAN HOCKEY PLAYERS AND RL HARLEQUIN ROMANCES AND SOCIALLY AWKWARD PENGUINS AND STAALS AND WHAT HAVE YOU ALL OVER THE PLACE. IT'S PRETTY FUCKING GREAT.
i've also posted a lot of teen wolf fic in the last few months. i'm still pretty enamoured of those stupid teenagers and wolves and whatnot. also tyler hoechlin's face is pretty great, and i guess dylan o'brien's is okay as well. i've spent a lot of time writing about how they should make out with each other.
ummm. i'm super into elementary at the moment, although ridiculously behind on every other tv show ever. i've been trying and failing to catch up on the current season of ncis for about two months.
but uh, i saw the hobbit and LOVED IT, give me all the thorin/bilbo fic pls. especially if they're college aus oh my god.
oh and if anyone's seen zero dark thirty and has thoughts hit me up! i saw it yesterday and was SO IMPRESSED, idek.

post-wimbly roger/rafa! considering how deliriously happy i am about the result, i'm not sure why i wrote something kind of angsty. although there is more ridic roadtrip fic in the works. anyway, this is part of the i know you know 'verse, and will probably make more sense if you read that first. warning for infidelity if that's not your thing. lovelove.

it's weird having your own impressions of a person altered by others who've had experiences with them before. I don't know what to think anymore, and consequently I don't know how to act next time I see them. it's so much simpler when there's nothing to cloud your own judgement.
sigh. I'm more than a little drunk right now. went out for a friend's bday and I barely know the girl (work with her) but so glad I did. had a lot of fun, met some lovely people and feel like I have a much better friend than what I started the night with.
sometimes making the effort is so worth it.
but still, don't know where I stand on the other situation. going to eat and sleep on it.

so a while back i wrote this. it's not the greatest thing i've ever written, but it's my totally indulgent ncis: los angeles otp, and i love them, and i'm pretty fond of the story in all its fun and simplicity. (also because of how it dodges plot of any kind in the least subtle way ever.)
and then nate went and left the show, and so now i have kind of a follow-up piece. not a fandom most of you guys on my flist are into, i know, but yay, fic! and more coming asap.
