I heard the former stated as the reason on the radio the other day. Jesus Christ, no. People are mad because any money JKR gets from this promotion will be funneled straight into lobbying against transgender rights and access to healthcare in the UK. Very tangible real world harm. Like, branching out from similar basis but Varian’s craft is centred on transformation whereas Hugo’s is straight up just harm at best and death at worst. Also if you pair it with Hugo being an artificer, being literally able to make metal come alive, it adds the polarity that makes his entire character, like that push and pull. The potential to life and the poison he spreads, GUYS GUYS GUYS

I think this is what happens when you let people think "ACAB includes fandom police" is an acceptable thing to say. That's all.
Do NOT cite to me the ""potential loss" of inclusion and support of stories of color on ao3 with censorship" to me. We are not pawns that you throw up in order to protect your own comfort. There already ISN'T inclusion, support nor safety of authors of color in fandom already. We've already had this conversation. You can't threaten me with the loss of what I already don't have.

I really don't give a fuck about that whole wattpad vs ao3 thing but it'd be nice if ao3 users stopped invoking weird anti-immigrant sentiments over fanfiction. literally saw someone go full republican and say shit like "it's migrants invading my country" with hundreds of likes and I just have to ask if you know how corny and annoying you look
