A: she doesnt have a ton of free time for hobbies in rush valley so she reads up on celebrity gossip in the free time she does have and watches the amestris equivalent of keeping up with the kardashians
B: she lives like a college freshman thats on their own for the first time when she moves to rush valley so when ed and al visit her they have to remind her to eat something other than leftovers and shower regularly
C: i hc that she deals with ocd so sometimes she'll screw and unscrew a piece over and over because she cant get it just right and she gets obsessive thoughts of what if my automail fails a client and they get hurt, especially with ed since he's actively fighting all the time, and her brain will play scenarios over and over where she couldnt even help him with a working arm or leg
D: her room is a barely ordered mess like "that corner of the room is for leg automail designs, this corner is arms, the middle part is where i do repairs- dont slip i spilled some oil right there- oh the bolt you're looking for is right there under granny's stew recipe but above my gloves"

@alagaesia-overlord was chatting with me about FMA theories and made the mistake of asking for the essay on why I think Greed was originally supposed to be the animal handler of the homunculi and mama didn’t raise no quitter so here we go
For starters literally all of the other homunculi have some sort of set purpose or role they were created for: Pride is essentially the guard dog as well as being an all-seeing eye in Central; Lust can gather information/assassinate targets and takes the role as team leader during away trips; Envy is extremely well-suited to creating chaos by instigating high-ranking officials (as well as being a huge tank monster); Gluttony was created as an experimental portal of truth and later reassigned to Lust’s group; Sloth had to dig the tunnel; and finally Wrath was created to drive the entire county through its final steps right up until the Promised Day’s arrival- in addition, all of them had specific abilities that aided or emphasized their intended purposes
and then we have Greed with his shield whose purpose is…completely undefined
he is literally the only homunculus to have anything even close to a defensive ability (assuming he ever used the damn ability as a real shield instead of a bastardized weapon but that’s a whole other essay) - and outside of Sloth he is arguably the least subtle of the entire bunch (plus he’s an idiot) so any sort of offensive or stealth role is completely out of the question. so what was his role ever supposed to be outside of “family disappointment”?

imagine it’s January 1st, 3000. tumblr somehow lives through several dozen companies like the cockroach it is. the code is barely recognizable. the entire website, now a repository of nearly a thousand years of posts, is petabytes in servers that, due to techological advances, are still barely larger than they are today. English isn’t even recognizable and you see this, a post in language a millennium out of date referencing a show that’s been dead almost as long.
related to my previous post: this is my POV on the eternal "it is/n't that deep" debate always going on with everything, as someone who now just goes "cool okay whatever" and leaves when something disappoints me instead of wasting time raging about what went wrong or waiting around for it to get better. i think it's good to have all those crazy what-if thought experiments, but i also think you need to make sure you're not setting yourself up for heartache! be nice to yourself and be nice to other people (as the moral so often is...)
Drawing the orchids took a good bit of my sanity but I think it was well worth it in the end
