TubaChristmas in Penticton, BC! Players needed!

Do you play the Tuba, Euphonium/Baritone, or even the trombone? Then you MUST come out and play with us for a performance of "Carols for a Merry Tubachristmas" on December 19th!

Tubachristmas is an event that takes places all over the world and this is the 36th year. The music is written in four part harmony and is available in both bass and treble clef. Dust the horn off and bring it out to play. We're going to have one practice evening (not mandatory, but recommended) and one performance at Cherry Lane Mall in Penticton on the afternoon of December 19th.

For more information, please comment, or call 250-494-1621, and ask for Kenzie.

(I know it's a bit far from Vernon, but Tubachristmas happens but once a year!)

Hey is anybody out there in Vernon?

Well, I had the idea to start this community to get people from Vernon to join, but now I have no idea how to spread the word! I hope that people will search for Vernon in their interests, but other than that, I am not too sure. I guess I'll just have to think positively and get my word out!
My biggest excitement these days is planning my wedding in the Okanagan! I'm getting married in Lumby, at Echo Lake. I am so excited, it is so pretty there. I hired a local caterer, Big Steve's. I have it on pretty good authority that his food is great, wouldn't mind some other opinions, though. By the way, this comm. is for everyone who lives in the Okanagan, not just Vernon. If you live in say, Cherryville, I'm not going to snub you! Come one, come all!

A Vernon community? What a great idea. I think I'll jump on board.

My family moved to Vernon when I was seven or eight, so I've lived in the Okanagan Valley for the majority of my life. In the last few years we bought a house in Armstrong, but I'm looking to get my own place back in V-town within the next two months. Armstrong's just a little bit too quiet for me. :)

I'm an artist by trade and a bit of a technical nerd.

If I find out about any interesting events or gatherings, I'll swing them your way.

Cheers!

Intro post

Hi Vernon LJ users!
I have never moderated a community before so this is a bit of a shot in the dark for me. I moved here in June 2005 from "the coast" as you Vernonites like to call it! I am just one of a herd of people flooding here from that area, in search of oppourtunity and growth. It is my hope to meet more people, share information and post things that I find of interest in Vernon. I don't know if anyone will find this community in the vastness that is the internet, but if you happen to stumble across vernonlj, drop us a line. We're glad you did.
