fools, they followed my lead

i practice yoga a lot. shocking i know, but it is true. the coop where i practice is a small place. at most, they can cram in 13 students into the studio and if they have more than 10 students, there is not enough room for the instructor to put down a mat too. weekday 6 pm classes are usually packed and tonight was no different.

now, i usually have a really good feeling for what the instructor is telling us to do and where we will be going next, even when they say stuff in sanskrit. and on more than a few occasions, i have felt that other students have been looking my way to figure out what they are supposed to be doing. sometimes i do space out and do the wrong thing and sometimes i just feel like doing something else. tonight was one of those nights. we were going to do a side stretch that has the exact same set-up as star gazer and at that moment, i really wanted to do star gazer so i did. then i realized that everyone else in the class was now doing star gazer too, which was odd because that was not what they were supposed to be doing at all.

they followed my lead. all 11 of them. foolish mortals. bwahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!

90 yoga classes in 90 days done

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well, i think that gets us  past the promised obscene amount of exclamation points. not feeling the capital letters at this moment in time, but i will see if i can rally before this post is done and get those to you.

so yeah, i did it. today was day 5 of our current rainy weather. i was proud that despite all the wetness we have had this week and me being made of sugar and all, i kept to my schedule and finished when i thought i would. basic statistics break down like this:
  • 90 yoga classes completed
  • over the course of 82 calendar days
  • of which i practiced once per day on 50 of those days
  • and twice per day on 20 of those days
  • meaning since the 26th of december, i have taken 12 days off from practicing
i am working on some more detailed statistics comparing various attendance levels within each of the three 30 day periods. i might end up sharing those at some point, but i am almost positive that the only person who will really care about those in any way/shape/form will be me so i make no promises.

so i managed to finish up a whole 8 days early and if you take into account the 10 yoga classes i have scheduled between sunday and next friday (please note: feeling a little lazy at only doing 10 classes over the course of 6 days because i will be taking tomorrow off!!!!!, but that is okay), that will put my total number of classes over the course of 90 days at 100. a nice round number if you don't mind me saying. i of course called my parents right when i was leaving the studio and during our conversation, my dad asked me where i will be going from here. i told him, and i guess by extension all of you now, that i will be continuing my practice. i still have a long way to go. there are several arm balances that i still have not worked back up to being able to do again and i want them. oh, i can do headstand again and headstand in the middle of a room without the security blanket of a wall behind me might i add. I FIND THAT TO BE TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

oh hai, i did find the strength in me to get a few all capital letters words out. go me.

NAMASTE MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i picked up my orthotic on tuesday. omg ponies!!!!!!!!!! this thing is amazing, i still walk slow, but i am so much more confident in my steps. also, i did not realize how much i was favoring my right hip. totally don't have to do that anymore though i kind of need to properly learn to walk again. i have apparently picked up a few bad habits while still trying to be mobile through this all.

i did it!!!!!!!!

so my secondary super power is the ability to fall asleep watching movies or tv shows. put me someplace comfy, relatively dark and make me not move for a period of time and i will fall asleep. doesn't matter if i am wicked excited about what i am watching or if it is the middle of the day. nothing in this universe can keep me up. hence i pretty much always decline invites to movies. i can fall asleep at home for free. but it is almost midnight and simonster and i just finished watching the changeling and i didn't fall asleep. woo-who!!!! on a related note, that was a slightly difficult movie to watch. the movie also has made me massively desire getting some hats.
