About Us

The Chamber is a live journal community celebrating women of color. This community welcomes news articles, fiction, graphics, videoes, and fanmixes, etc., anything that features minority women and their characters.

So to everyone that contributes to this goal we thank you. Please know that we appreciate your presence and hope that you will continue to visit us in the future.

Fiction Guidelines

We feature original fiction and fan fiction. Stories MUST feature a woman of color as a lead character.

Stories containing sexual activities between underage characters and adult characters are prohibited. All stories must be rated correctly and have the appropriate warnings. If you are unsure as to how your story should be rated please contact a Chamber Administrator for assistance.

Place all you entries under an LJ cut or behind a link.

An < lj-cut > allows you to hide all or part of your entry behind a link. The part you < lj-cut > is hidden on your main journal page and on Friends pages, but you can still see the full entry on the "Read Comments" page, when you preview your entry, or when you view your entry by following the link on the Post an Entry confirmation page.

Rich Text editor: Highlight the text you want to cut, then press the < lj-cut > button. In the dialog box, you can replace "Read more..." with another word or phrase to link to the entire entry.

HTML editor: Type < lj-cut text="Read more" > before the text you want to hide, replacing "Read more" with the word or phrase to link to the entire entry. If you want to start showing text again, type < /lj-cut > after the text you want to cut.

Downloadable Client: Many clients available for download contain simple ways to use the < lj-cut > tag. For information on a specific client, consult its documentation or menu options.

All stories must contain a suitable disclaimer.

Graphics Guidelines.

We allow icons, screencaps, vids, and other graphics that feature women of color.

Post your icons here or link to a post containing the icons that are in your journal or community.

Don't link to a friends-only post.

Use a lj-cut when posting more than 3 icons.

Your teaser should contain 3 or less icons, that all feature women of color.

Wallpapers, blends, and headers are only allowed inside an icon post.

Banners or pictures posted should be no larger than 500x350 pixels. Anything larger will be deleted by the mods.
