Hi, I'm Adam and I make websites.

Adam Varn

In fact, I've been making websites since 1996, back when my first employer paid me (in video games) to write reviews for their website. You can even see my first site in all it's black and neon green text glory here.

Thankfully, I've moved on to getting paid in real money, and work as a Senior Front-End Developer at Lullabot.

The web should be open, fun and accessible.

This is a personal site. It doesn't try to be anything fancy, just a place for me to experiment and play around, just like in the old days of the web. Types of sites like that used to be all over the web, but social media and billionaires have ruined all the fun.

So let's bring the web back to something more personal and most importantly, something accessible to people from all walks of life. I write about the idea of the indie web, amongst other things, on my occasionally updated blog.

And yeah, I like Galaga.

Photo of the close up of white male's inner wrist, showing a tattoo of two ships from the Galaga video game.

I remember playing Galaga at the skating rink when I was a kid, feeding it my quarters. I was never great at it but it was always my go to game in any arcade.

I've got my right arm mostly tattooed now and most are related to family and other things, but I couldn't resist immortalizing it on my wrist as well as doing a little tribute here on my personal site. If you see me IRL, ask me to show you them.

Oh look, you're still here!

Well, you've reached the bottom of the page. Which, admittedly, probably took you longer if you're here on a phone than a computer.

All the fancy stuff is up top, but since you're here (and the navigation is all the way up there now), I might as well give you some links to check out, like the About page, or the Blog that I do a poor job of updating, or even the Uses page, where I list all of the stuff I use day in and day out.

And if none of that catches your interest, check out the super awesome Webring right below here, connecting you to a lot of amazing folks who believe in the Indie Web like I do.

Seriously, party like it's 1996 and check it out.
