jobbie job job

well i got offered a job from one of the two places i had interviews with last week. unfortunately, it's not the one i really really wanted. this position would be with canadian home grocers, doing mostly data entry-related work, as well as other admin stuff... it pays well (12.50/hr for training which lasts about a month, then 14.00/hr regular pay afterwards), but would be the dullest job ever. on the other hand, i don't deal with the public, and would mostly be left to do my own thing, which i like. it's not too far from my house.

the other job is with interra, an environmental engineering firm. i'd be doing mostly admin stuff, handling all the engineer's reports that come in. i'd also be doing some reception stuff, and basic admin things. i would not be dealing much with the public since they don't get a lot of walk-in and their work is contract-based. they just landed a huuuge contract, so my position here would not be in jeopardy for lack of work, if anything. it sounds much more interesting to work there, and they have a relaxed work environment. i completely forgot to find out how much it pays, but i'd be confident to say probably between 12-14$/hr. or it could be salaried, for all i know. if i haven't heard back from interra by tomorrow (my interviewer said they'd be calling back for a second round of interviews), then i'm phoning them. see how that goes. at least i have a fallback plan that pays decent :)

apart form that, not much is different, except i'm desperately trying to find a financial way to get my ass to toronto to see dir en grey next month. tickets come to 40$ with tax and surcharges, a return-trip bus ride is about 88$. there's not way i could make it back the same night, so that means i'd have to find somewhere to crash, which means more money, cause i don't know anyone in toronto. there's a slim chance that ken's sister, who goes to school there may let me hook up with her, but seeing as we've never even met before, i have no idea. but now that i know i'll be getting steady income next month, i may just say fucking and use my visa all the way, baby!
