We just had an earthquake.

Minor, but SHIT. Never felt anything like that. The whole house shook.

I was actually still awake, and on IM to someone else who thought it was a car crash. Considering the distance between us, that would have been one huge damn car crash.

Yep, I was awake and online and seriously thought the house was about to fall apart.

Like on the tube is the perfect description - I've been in theatres that shake like that every time a tube train goes past underneath.
