Literally always take headphones with you. If you decide that you probably won’t need them today, that’s the devil talking. You will. You will
I love my little friends in my phone so much :(((

I’m so grateful to have you in my life, there’s no world where I want to exist without knowing you. Why did the universe have to put us so far apart
Not only should teachers be paid more, they should have paid work hours dedicated to lesson planning and paperwork. Drops mic and walks away
A lot of teachers would do a better job of teaching if they had paid work hours dedicated to lesson planning. As it is, the job of a teacher is split between their Actual Work Hours and all the stuff they kinda also have to do in their free time for free. Obviously, this means that any semblance of work/life balance is hard to maintain. And you’re not even paid for the time you spend preparing. For all the school cares, the teacher could show up completely unprepared and it would be fine. And like, it could be fine! Depending on the subject, the content of the lesson, and the teacher’s experience, they could do just fine without a plan.
However, there are subjects and types of lessons that absolutely require planning. There are teaching techniques and materials that would make the lessons way more effective and engaging to the students, if they were properly researched and planned. But to properly research and plan a lesson like that, you need a lot of time and resources. Which is something teachers simply don’t have.
When you spend your entire day at school, teaching, trying to wrangle energetic children and jaded teenagers, coming home at the end of the day is supposed to bring you rest. Except that the moment you leave the school building, you’re expected to plan everything you’re going to teach the next day. Or, alternatively, when you finally get a day off, all you want to do is get some sleep, engage in your hobbies, talk to friends and loved ones. Instead, you’re expected to plan everything you’re going to do for the week ahead of you. And often it’s both of those things, since one weekend may not be enough time to prepare everything, which would mean tying up your loose ends throughout the week.
So, you want to get it over with fast. You’re not motivated to do it well. And even if you are, that motivation may not last under the pressure of burnout and the fear of turning your entire life into work. You want to get it done and then grasp at the opportunity to live your life and be a person.
So this results in a lot of lessons being repetitive and bland, with the teacher only using the mandated materials, never straying from the same lesson structure, never engaging the students in creative, playful, and interesting tasks. Not because fun is somehow forbidden at school, but simply because it requires creative energy, time, research, and resources. None of which the teachers are provided with or compensated for. Idk, I just feel like there’s gotta be a better way to do this
Situations when it's appropriate to say "I'm always saying this":
1. When you are always saying this (factually correct)
2. When this is actually the opposite of what you're always saying (it's satire)
3. When you have never said this before in your life (how would they know!!)
4. When no one else in the world has ever said this and everyone knows that (very funny)
5. When no actual coherent words are being said (maybe I'm always saying this, like, emotionally)
I do fear that this post has set up the most obvious response possible for everyone who decides to reblog it. I can’t even be mad at seeing the same tag in my notifications over and over again. Go forth, my friends. Use this wisdom for good
(22 year old voice) What if I drastically changed the course of my life. Would that be crazy or what
Maybe I’m not doomed. Maybe I’m not doomed after all. Idk. Idk
Being queer is so fun when you realize you can be literally whatever you want and call yourself literally whatever you want and do literally whatever you want
Researching microlabels is so awesome when the end goal is not to decide on one to use forever but to add the ones you like to your ever-expanding list of words to use to describe yourself on any given day. For fun
I think every time someone misuses the word parasocial they should be forced to read the definition from a dictionary ten times and then answer a series of questions to check reading comprehension. I also think everyone who wants to state an opinion on parasociality should do this as well
Another hot take I have is that I think people often consider the messed up behavior inspired by parasociality to be a consequence of “the fans feeling like the content creator is their friend”, when in reality the things they’re doing are NOT friendly.
Like idk about you, but I don’t tend to dig into my friends’ past or interrogate their personal life when it’s obvious they’re not comfortable sharing. Or disrespect their personal space. Or act entitled to their work and attention all the time. Idk that seems to be less of a parasociality issue and more of a general behavioral issue.
Perhaps this is more in line with the idea that people feel less responsibility about their actions online due to anonymity. Maybe people feel as though, because they have no direct link to the people behind the screen, they can’t “ruin” the relationship, since the content creator doesn’t even know they exist.
At the same time, I think it’s also less about feeling a connection to the content creators or potentially even viewing them as something similar to friends, and more about viewing them as fictional characters. When the content creators are so far removed from the viewer, they stop feeling like real people and start feeling like fictional characters you can do whatever you want with, since fictional characters don’t have real feelings. And this is a whole different topic of its own, but my point is that this phenomenon is definitely not parasociality. It’s honestly almost the opposite of parasociality. But I don’t know if we’re ready for that conversation
From a young age, I've always wanted to put a bunch of people in a room and force them to play board games with me
Btw if there are any mutuals who are comfortable speaking over voice chat and would be down to play Blood On The Clocktower with me at some point in the future, sound off!! And if you don’t know what Blood On The Clocktower is, I suggest checking out this playlist of No Rolls Barred playing it. Everything gets thoroughly explained and demonstrated. It’s an extremely fun and convoluted social deduction game :3 I’ve lost the plot and I’m addicted.
ALSOOO for my MCYT enjoyers, Jimmy Solidarity played it for the first time recently, so here’s his player POV. It’s not as thoroughly explained, but it’s Jimmy, and it made me wanna play really badly
