Hey, I applied for the theatre program at UVIC, and my interview is comming up, so I was wondering if anyone out there had any pointers? I'm trying to get into directing/producing. So any help would be apperciated.
Also..I'd be moving to Victoria from the mainland, so are there any areas that should be avoided for apartment hunting? I don't like the dorms, so I'm looking for a place off campus. I want to spend up to about $700 a month, since I'll be living by myself. Thank you so much!!! Pam
Oh yeah..And I'll have to bus it so....areas near busses that go to campus would be helpful too
I was accepted for cluster next winter session. I have to pay the $500 acceptance fee by March 18th but I'm having doubts. I was just wondering if anyone has any advice on living on campus versus off-campus? I have a vehicle so the bus system isn't a factor. Any comments would be GREATLY appreciated.
Greetings all. I'm new to the community. I started grad school at UVic in September, but it didn't occur to me to search for a UVic community until just recently. What can I say, I'm slow.
On with my issue:
I'm currently on the grad floor in residence and, as is the case, will be booted out at the end of April. Now, I'm likely not going home for the summer, at least not for any substantial time. I'm having trouble finding an apartment with a lease that begins in April/May. I'm looking for a one or two bedroom. Does anyone here have one with a lease that will be expiring, or know where I can find one? All the online apartment listing are aparently pay services, which is very frustrating since I don't see myself shelling out $60 to search through a listing of apartments to maybe/maybe not find something suitable.
I was wondering if there is a website for reviewing places to rent online for Victoria. Kind of like www.ratemyprofessor.com for rooms and suites. :) I am currently moving out of a bad rental situation, and was thinking it would be great if there was something that could have warned me about these people. From what I hear, this is a common occurrence for students renting rooms out of homes here. It would also be nice to have a place to go that would present tenancy regulations for students who are new to living away from home, and don't know their rights. I understand that, like the professor site, the reviews on such a site could be heavily biased. ;P
