Welcome to UV Fics & Pics!
This is a community to post fanfiction and images and artwork by and for fans of the Ultraviolet series. We've got a few rules; hopefully we won't need any more than this.
0. There is no need for you to introduce yourself when you join this community. If you feel the need to introduce yourself, please consider waiting until you have a story or artwork or other creative offering to share to post.
1. Any pairing or none at all is fine. We are a het, slash, and gen friendly community.
Yes, this means that this community includes adult content. If you are underaged, please go elsewhere for a few years, or ask your parents before joining or lurking here. And, though this probably goes without saying, for liability reasons, post a warning for adult content.
2. Fictional character stories and artwork only. Crossovers with characters or universes from other fictional series or movies are fine.
3. No personal attacks or flaming. Ever.
4. If you are posting images, do not hotlink to sites not your own. Do not steal bandwidth.
If you have a manip or wallpaper you would like to post to the community but cannot figure out how to put it on your own website to link it here, email one of the maintainers of the community for help before you try to post.
If you do not understand what bandwidth stealing is, contact the maintainers of this community before posting.
5. If you are posting icons you have made to share, please state clearly whether you want people to comment and claim them, or whether they are for sharing among multiple people, and whether or not you want specific credit for them by the people who adopt them and take them home. Unstated expectations cannot be met.
6. Be kind to dialup users... if you are posting a large image(s) or lots of small ones, please put them behind a lj-cut with a descriptive text so that people know what they're clicking on.
7. If you are posting artwork, be sure to state your expectations regarding redistribution, use in icons, use on webpages, use as desktop wallpapers, etc. If you're posting explicit artwork, consider using a lj-cut. Some people read their friendslist at work.
8. If you post a story which has obviously not been run through a spellchecker, you will be asked to either remove the post, or to run it through a spellchecker and edit your post. Noncompliance will result in the post's deletion.
9. This community is not for posting information about the UV series airtimes, any possible American remakes, or the actors in the series. It is intended to be a place for fans to share their fanfiction (of any length), icons, screencaps, manips, wallpapers, and... dare we hope for links to songvids and fiction archives? So, don't bother us with gossip about the actors. There are plenty of other communities for squeeing over Jack Davenport. We like to squee about him, too, but not here.
10. Here's the preferred format if you're posting your fanfic or a link to your fanfic. For any fanfic longer than 100-word-drabbles, please put the body of the fic behind a lj-cut.

Rating: G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17 seem to be standard and fairly well understood, but if you're more comfortable saying "all ages" or "adult", that's pretty clear, too.
Genre: (some suggestions include: gen, slash, het, mixed het & slash, threesome, moresome; action/adventure, alternate universe, angst, BDSM (or BD or SM or B or D), character death, character crossing-over, character study, crossover with another fandom, drabble, drama, filk, fixit, graphic sex, graphic violence, horror, humor, hurt/comfort, introspection, missing scene, non-con (rape), non-con (coerced), romance, round robin, satire, series, vignette)
