Hi there NCAA College Fans....

Ok, first off, I have to say, I really have NO IDEA what I am doing with this. Hopefully I can actually post and not screw this up. ;)

Hi readers, My name is Cheri Rocha and I have recently opened an online business at www.yourcollegeteamstore.com. I am specializing in NCAA College teams in the C-USA, MAC, WAC, Mountain West, and SunBelt Divisions.

My husband was actually the inspiration for this store. He is an alumni of a C-USA school and was just tired of not being able to find merchandise for his school. You could always find stuff for the "Big Schools", or what would be considered the "popular" ones. So we started doing research and found that there are manufacturers that do make this stuff, but not many who will carry or sell it. So that is where Your College Team Store originated.

We are the typical family of 4, with 2 dogs, and a cat. Both our children are school aged and they really do eat up alot of our free time with all their sports and school activites, but we wanted to find something that we could do to help other "Division 1 School Alumni" or (current students) find the items that they want, without having to search and search for someone who makes or sells it.

As I said before, we just JUST OPENED...but, I am adding new items to every school in the C-USA, MAC, WAC, Mountain West, and SunBelt Divisions as I am able to find them. I will try and add new items as often and possible, and post on here what is new, and any promtions that we have that day/week.

I thank you in advance for taking a moment and clicking on our store link above... Please pass it along to your friends and family. The more people I can direct to the site, the higher I can get on those darn search engines... If you find something you like, and maybe it's not in your school, just let me know.. I will do what I can to find it for you.

Everyone have a safe and Happy Halloween this weekend.

The Gender Public Advocacy Coalition is pleased to announce the release of its 2008 GENIUS Survey in partnership with Ernst & Young. GenderPAC works to ensure that classrooms, communities and workplaces are safe for everyone to learn, grow and succeed.

The Gender Equality National Index for Universities & Schools (GENIUS), GenderPAC’s most recent effort to end discrimination and promote awareness, encourages colleges and universities to recognize the benefits of a GenderSAFEtm campus - supportive equitable and protective for all students. Choosing to participate in GENUIS sends a strong public statement that bullying or discriminating based on the race, sex or gender of a student, faculty, or staff member is not tolerated at your institution

Fill out the survey at: www.gpac.org/GENIUS2008survey, and make sure that we have data for as many schools as possible. Your voice will help us continue to work towards a safe and welcoming environment for every student.

*While we greatly appreciate the interest taken in GENIUS by students, staff, and faculty at academic institutions outside of the United States, at this time GENIUS is only able to track schools based in the U.S.

Summer roommate needed!

My boyfriend (current junior at TU) is looking for an opportunity to stay on campus over the summer, but he needs a roommate. Is there anyone here who has a spare room in their apartment that they are needing to fill? If so, please contact me at taylor HYPHEN breedlove AT utulsa DOT edu. He is looking for a job on campus to help foot the bill, as his original plan to be a desk manager and get a room that way fell through. Thanks so much!

hey people who are actually on campus ever

Can anyone tell me what computer labs on campus are actually OPEN? Specifically open late--are any open until midnight anymore? And if you by any chance know if those computers have the stats program SPSS on them, I'll be your BFF. I know the education lab computers have SPSS, but the lab is only open until 4:30.

Thanks!

Mcfarlin library murals

Hi. I'm looking for some information about Mcfarlin library. According to some things a friend of mine has read, the student and faculty reading rooms (well, ex-reading rooms now) once had murals covering the walls that were paid for by Leta Mcfarlin. Does anyone know anything more about this, or better yet, seen pictures of them?

I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but I'm going to rant...

Alright so... here it goes...

UGH WHY DO THE PEOPLE THAT RUN SA HAVE TO BE SUCH IDIOTS?

Alright, first of all... A University has absolutely no right throwing several hundred thousand dollars at any group of students. ever. period. the end.

but guess what... TU DOES!

In fact, each year the University throws at least this much money to a VERY FEW students and says "spend it."

Now granted, I LOVE THE FACT that TU is helping student organizations. Without this money, student groups all over campus would not have the funds necessary to operate. We're talking special interest groups (TU Bisexual, Lesbian, Gay and Transgender Alliance), religious groups (Muslim Students Association, Baptist College Ministry, Hillel House, etc.), academic honor groups (Beta Beta Beta, etc.), and the list goes on and on and on... in fact... SA allocated money to over 130 organizations. Cool, eh?

It would be...

I don't know how SA can justify spending several thousand dollars on entertainment several times a year. Horatio something -- some SNL comedian -- entertainment for TU homecoming? Please.

I applaud anyone's involvement with TU's organizations -- especially something that SHOULD be as worth as SA -- but my dissatisfaction doesn't lie in with act/actor... but rather on the principle.

College should definitely be an 'experience,' but I don't feel like its the job of the University to entertain its students. If they want to provide opportunities for student's, thats wonderful... [It's part of the reason why SA allocates money to organizations, isn't it?] But lets be honest here... Who is in charge of how much money SA gets? When did someone get to decide what there allocation is going to be?

There needs to be a change... and a big one.

Lets take more money out of SA's hands and put it in ACTUAL student organizations. You know, the ones that me and you can join and enjoy.

I'm sickened and disgusted by the way money is flushed down the drain year after year.
