Sucking all the marrow out of life

Hey everybody! I didn't think I would ever have to do this but I have been really thinking it over and I have decided that making my journal completely friends only is the best way to go. I am disheartened to do this because I know I won't hear from some of my friends who don't have livejournal's much but I hope that they will get an account but there have been just too many reasons lately that have made me change my journal. Thank you for understanding and if you are not my friend but would like to be, just comment :)

I can't believe it but last Saturday I went to the opening of the Exibition that my picture was in and I found out that I won 1st place! This is the first time a picture of mine has ever won first place so it is a little exciting.

Also, I finally got over my losing streak and won my first doubles match of the season. Actually, I won four games in a row! Well, districts are next week so I will try to be getting prepared for that-should be very interesting.

Finally, on Sunday i went out with my cousin and his baby, Emma, and we biked 25 miles in 3 hours! I really pushed myself physically because I have never gone that far before. Ironically though, my legs were hurting the whole time but now the only thing that is sore are my shoulders. Go figure. Anywho, it was really nice out all day because it was overcast and it wasn't roasting either. It actually reminded me of being in Georgia-so quite, peacefully, and almost hilly. Steve and I liked it so much that we decided to make it a weekly thing.

Hmm...I felt the need to update althought there isn't that much to say. Over Spring Break I Had the best time ever just relaxing and doing what I wanted. It really made me eager for summer (which is less than two months away!) That is such a scary feeling-knowing that I'll be a senior in less then two months. I am also afraid that I will never see this year's seniors again. I have known one senior since I was in kindergarden I am just so afraid that this might be the last time we ever talk to each other.
Also during Spring break, I watched a lot of movies-one of them being RENT. The singing was amazing but I wasn't too thrilled with the story and at times I wasn't even sure it had much of a storyline.

Anyway, today I should be finding out if my drawing was accepted into a local art competition. I sure hope they take it and it would be even better winning! Here is my picture I entered ( Collapse )

My cousin's first birthday party was at my house about 2 weeks ago also. She (Emma) is so cute, the party went really well, and I got to see my uncle and step aunt that I never get to see. I am thinking of drawing ( Collapse ) picture of Emma for my family.

Like I said before, I am really scared about next year. I will be taking 5 AP classes, be making a lot of tough decisions and changes, and to top it all off a lot of the best teachers at my school are leaving. I just can't get over the changes! :(

Anyway...I played on of my toughest matches in tennis yesterday. In my singles match, I played #3 and was up 4 to 1. Then I let her get more games and I just got so frustrated. We ended up going into a tie breaker and she won in that 10 to 6. I was crushed!!! I got a five minute break and then went right into playing a doubles match and before we played our coach told us that it was all riding on us whether we won the match or not. Talk about pressure!!! This time my partner and I were down 1 to 5 at one point and came back to 5 to 6 but lost. All in all I played 4 1/2 hours of straight, hard core tennis! So to say the least, I am a little sore today :) I don't get it- I just can't seem to win my matches (I have only one doubles match this whole season) It's like even though I try my hardest (and I had about 10 aces yesterday, it just isn't enough. In Bible study on Friday we talked about hope. Well right now I have very little hope in winning and running low on my confidence in my tennis abilities.

Finally (and totally randomly), this morning I woke up and came downstairs. My little dog was looking out the window and started to bark. Usually I just ignore this but for some reason I looked out the window. To my surprise, I saw a HUGE raccoon on my porch and climbing the pole that is supporting a balcony! He climbed it and sat on the eve of roof just licking his paws. After about 10 minutes he climbed back down and just went away. Maybe later I will show you the pictures I got of him.

I finally had a real break without schoolwork so in celebration, I decided to make a whole bunch of icons. As for the Disney icons, I wanted to focus on the places Disney has taken us in animation.

Well, I know I did pretty darn bad on my Pre-Calc and Physics midterm but you know what-IT'S OVER!!! I finally have no homework, nothing to study for, no worries!

Well, I thought that you guys might be interested in my paper I wrote for Rhetoric. It is about traditional hand-drawn animation versus the new CGI stuff. Here it is if you want to read it. I would love to hear what you guys think about it :)

I love trying to see the actual people who play the voices of characters in animated movie. It is so funny how the animators always seem to manage to capture the actor in the drawings. Well, here is a look of some animated characters and their voices. I think they look simular. What do you think?
