Got a new haircut today - have had the same boring pony tail for nearly four years now - and damn! I look almost cute. Am insanely pleased.

My birthday's coming up this Monday, and I've told J I want a new coffee machine. He then went into Gran's house to conspire with her, then came back and loudly declared that if I wanted a new coffee machine I had to buy it myself. But that I should wait until Tuesday. Because, er...then he could come with me! That's right, 'cos this weekend he'd be very busy, er, playing P2. Or something.
Is it even called a coffee machine in English?
Hope I get one, anyway.

One thing struck me just now. People generally recieved my OCs pretty well, saying they were well rounded and not Mary Sues etc. But most of them were self inserts which is one of the main characteristics of a MS, right? No wonder I'm so fond of my rough, dysfunctional OCs - I'm perfectly aware of the fact that I'm extremely self centered. Obviously, you can write all the self inserts you want as long as you're f*cked in the head to begin with.

Am I wrong in thinking that a Mary Sue is the sign of a perfectly healthy teenage brain? As long as you're willing to take concrit and develop your writing as you get older, that is...

Now I want to write a Mary Sue. A classic MS self insert, with flowing auburn hair who is loved by everyone and saves the day.

Leavng soon for a week in Denmark. See if we can't fit in a trip to Germany as well. Weather forecast is being a bitch, but I'll swim in the bloody rain if I have to. Umbrellas are for wimps and sissies.
Internet withdrawal will be the biggest problem I'm afraid, but bought The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins to keep the mind occupied.
Maito, the new kitty who came wandering, isn't quite well - he's dragging one of his hind feet. Typical that it happens the day before leaving, right? My brother will look after him though, so he should be in good hands.

Well, take care.

So, finally got around to watch The Dark Knight. Sorry, but I was disappointed. :( Maybe it was all the hype around the late Joker, rest his soul - from everything I've heard and read about it I was probably expecting too much. A great actor, absolutely, and he did a fine job...but still. Dunno, I like both heroes and villains as grey as possible and the über evil Joker just didn't interest me that much. He was a hell of a lot more exciting than the bat person himself though; conflicted though he may be, Batman bores me. Or maybe it's just Christian Bale. Yeah, probably.
(Get that reaction quite often, actually. Saw Brokeback Mountain, for example, was snoring halfway through. God, it was boring. Other examples? Must've repressed those memories 'cos I can't think of any right now.)

Watchmen comes out on DVD August 15th here in Norway, and I'm trying to curb my enthusiasm (unsuccessfully) since I didn't get to see it on the big screen. I've been a fan for how long, twelve years? So yeah, not afraid of spoilers, and the clips I've seen look good so far.
But the fics! Oh man, I love the Watchmen fandom!

What's the colour of your nipples? TMI

What's this thing people have about pink nipples? Take a character with brown eyes, dark hair...he/she isn't going to have pink nipples, they'll be brown. It's a pigmentation thing, okay? Blondes and red heads have pink nipples - usually, not always - but us folks with darker skin tones, not so much.

I have brown nipples, if anyone wondered, and I think brown's sexy as hell. Nothing wrong with brown, okay?

Still alive

On my way to the dentist today, when I stumbled across an ex. Drunk, or on good way to become drunk anyway. After shuffling his feet for ten seconds when he thought I wasn't looking, he came over to give me a big hug, and he started talking. (You good people don't know this guy - when he starts talking after a few beers, he doesn't shut up. Like, ever. You have to gag the man to get a word in, and he's so charming and well-meaning and nervous you'll only end up feeling guilty if you do.) I made it clear that I had to leave though, and he went back into the pub looking so *lost*...can't get rid of those eyes...and he muttered "Well, you do what you want, of course."

Now, what the hell is that supposed to mean? Didn't really strike me until later. If he'd wanted me to join him for a beer, why didn't he just say so? Hints are wasted on me, I'm about as subtle as a rhino.

I'm so dull

There's a kink meme going on in the Naruto fandom right now. A couple great GaiKakashi stories there that I can recc, and one crappy thing I wrote (nah, not that crappy, I think, but I suck at PWPs. Hope the OP wasn't too disappointed). I used to love these memes, and I still do to some degree, but...I don't know, I think I've grown a bit tired of them. Perhaps I'm more vanilla than I thought. 'Cos I have little interest in handcuffs, bondage, orgies and all that, at least at the moment. I need to be emotionally invested, or at least mildly interested in the pairing to begin with; if there's no time to build tension between the characters first then I'm not likely to check out the unfamiliar pairings. Yes, I'm boring. ;/

Someone suggested a fluff meme. Not sure if it was meant seriously, but to be honest I love that idea.

Found a Watchmen kink meme from last year, thought I'd check it out (49 pages, man!). For Rorschach a simple *hug* would be kinky enough, poor sod.
