Is anyone enrolled in ENG353Y1 - Canadian Fiction with Professor Sam Solecki?
I have missed quite a few classes due to illness and am a little confused about the marking system for this class. In the syllabus distributed at the beginning of the year it stated that we would submit two papers, one ea worth 40% each and have a final test at the end of March worth 20%. I received an email from the Professor this morning informing me there is no longer any final test. I'm therefore left wondering: How is the final 20% of our grade being determined? Are the papers now worth 50% each or is there another element on which we're being marked?
Thank you in advance to anyone who could shed some light on this matter for me. I have no other recourse for finding this out as I don't want to have to email the Prof. again unless absolutely necessary (I don't want to make a nuisance of myself).
My pickle is that I've applied to U of T and York U. York U is supposed to be my back-up if U of T doesn't accept me. I would then transfer over to U of T.
My problem lies in that York U has offered me a spot, which expires (and I realize they often extend the offer after the expiration, but I can't count on it) February 28th 2010. U of T has put a hold on my application and will reconsider it at the end of May when all the high school students have filled spots.
I'm now in a position where I need to accept Yorks offer or I won't be going to any university in the fall because I can't be guaranteed any good decision from U of T. My question is, what would I need to transfer from York U to U of T should I apply later on? Because I'd really rather go to U of T than York U, not only because of it's reputation but also because of U of T's distance from my dad's appartment in the city.
It's an Arts program, major interest in English...
