Wes Mac is drinking a 1950s Burton Ruby Mild by Heritage Brewing Co. at Co-op Food - Shotts - Station Road
Bottle conditioned. Toffee and caramel malts. Toffee apple vibes. Slight red berries in the aroma and background taste. Little bit sour. Am a sucker for any historic recipe so I love it.

Wes Mac is drinking a Green Man (2025) by 8 Sail Brewery at Co-op Food - Shotts - Station Road
Bottle conditioned. Straw coloured, hops very prominent on account of them being brewed fresh. Very earthy and resinous. Tastes like weed. Freshly cut grass. Farmhouse adjacent. Only negative is that it's a bit too carbonated.

Wes Mac is drinking a Beacon by Eden River Brew Co at The Bon Accord
Wee bit insipid, if I'm being honest. A tad on the thin side, with heavy metallic overtones where the hop should be. Tastes more like a softer, maltier lager sans fizz. Acceptable, but not really what I'm after from a bitter.

Dark Island. Been saying that Orkney's Dark Island is a Victorian-style strong dark mild for years, and this proves it. The two are indistinguishable to me. This wins out because it's bottle conditioned. Roasty, dark berries, slight chocolate. Yes.
