Oliver Bills-Strange is drinking a Mysterious Path by Mikkeller at Basecamp Wanaka Clip 'n Climb
Bloody great hoppy pilsner with a solid oiliness. I found it a touch sweeter than I would choose but still impressive. I believe Bex had this – also brewed by Garage Project – at Mikkeller in Tokyo last year. They had an event which we stumbled upon.

Oliver Bills-Strange is drinking a Canyon Gold by Canyon Brewing at Basecamp Wanaka Clip 'n Climb
Big recommend and supply by Matt H. It’s a phenomenal lager that just takes me back to the Twofold lagers we tried in Auckland. Classic, but certainly more vibrantly hopped with a beautiful citrusy character going on.

Oliver Bills-Strange is drinking a Helping Hands 2026 by Brave Brewing Co. at Basecamp Wanaka Clip 'n Climb
Not sure how Matt H. kept this one hidden up his ass, but he’s pulled it out to great acclaim. Didn’t expect this at all, but appreciate it immensely.

Oliver Bills-Strange is drinking a Hoppin Harvest 2026- Fresh Hop IPA by b.effect at Basecamp Wanaka Clip 'n Climb
The man Matt H. just pulled this out of his ass. A can that’s brewed round the corner, purchased online from a nearby supermarket, express couriered up to Christchurch and then road tripped back to Wānaka 😆Couldn’t say no to beersies sharesies moment.

Fucking knew this had Riwaka in it. They need to write a description on the can. It’s probably one of the palest WCIPAs I’ve had. Super vibrant and bright. I reckon this one is pretty tasty but I’m unsure these really warrant the contract brewing thing.
