As title. In short, I would like to have : shown in the middle of the message line when I press the default keybind <prefix>: for opening the command prompt.

I have tried my best finding the config option in the man tmux, but I only found two options: message-style, message-command-style, and setting them with ,align=centre doesn't seem to work.

If it's impossible through ,align=centre, then I would like to know what's the format placeholder for the prompt message so that I can do the padding myself: (both some-option and #PROMPT here is unknown, maybe-not-exist)

set -g some-option '#(printf "%%40s")'#PROMPT:'

Any help, please?

  • As no-one else has commented, ... did you try ,align=center ? (Just a guess). Do you have any evidence to believe this is a supported option? Commented Apr 23 at 4:16
