Inuit artist PITALOOSIE SAILA (1942-2021)
I remember how Inuit used to live, thinking of them back then, my relatives. I also recall how the clothing was made; that is what I base my drawings on when I draw people.

Pitaloosie was born in 1942 on the southwest coast of Baffin Island near what is now the community of Cape Dorset. She spent her childhood years in various hospitals in Quebec and Ontario for treatment of tuberculosis. She learned
English during this time, and recalls the difficulty she experienced in relearning her native language upon her return to Baffin Island in 1957. She is now one of the few of her generation who speak both English and Inuktitut fluently.
Pitaloosie began drawing in the early 1960’s, and quickly established herself as a versatile and intelligent graphic artist.
Over the years, she has become a familiar presence in the Kinngait Studios, and her work has been included in annual
print collections since 1968.

- 2-3 fucked up brown bananners
- 1/3 cup of butter, melted
- 1/2 tsp of baking soda
- sprinkle of salt
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup of applesauce (you can also use an egg if no applesauce, but the applesauce does beautiful things for the texture)
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups flour
mix that shit together and bake @ 350 degree F (177 C) for approx. 47 minutes. I used a pan that was 8.5 inches x 4.5 inches; smaller pans should bake longer and larger pans should bake for less time. poke the middle with a fork or toothpick if you're unsure if it's finished; if it comes out wet it needs to keep going.

I miss when ads were a single click and then they’re gone. Now every ad has a minimum of three phases where you watch a video, exit the still frame of fake gameplay, and then exit the app download. That doesn’t even touch on the ones that forcibly take you to another app after opening a tab in safari without you ever touching the screen.
I hate advertising. I hate that you can’t do anything without companies jumping down your throat with mostly bullshit ads. I hate that billboards exist. I hate that every company unanimously decided to make their ads longer and longer. I hate that ad blockers try to charge you money and there are in app purchases to remove ads. I hate that my attention has become commodified. I hate that there’s nothing I can do about it.
