Yeah, I took them down indefinitely. Bluntly put: when I write and edit my stories with the intent to share and interact with a fandom, I don't expect to constantly get this in return.

I was gaslit and harassed for trying to handle this privately earlier this year, and seeing how it's apparently still happening, I'm not wasting my time arguing, I'm just over it πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

Sharing was fun, but I don't want my works stolen and used as this girl's personal story/scene prompts whenever she can't think of something herself. So yeah, for now I'm keeping my writing private.

Thank you to those sending me kind and encouraging messages. I just wanted to let you know I have seen them all and appreciate them more than you know πŸ’•

It definitely sucks to receive this kind of blatant disregard and disrespect from other Black creatives on here, but I’m a firm believer in protecting my work and my peace. So if you were here to lurk and watch, or don’t really care because you were only here to read then, idk? Show’s over, I guess?

This will go back to being an art sideblog, and there will be no more of my writing posted on this blog for the foreseeable future.

You know what? I've changed my mind.

Unfortunately, @/nahimjustfeelingit-writes looks to be intentionally doing this. Her behavior of purposefully mosaic/paraphrase-plagiarizing parts of my works will likely continue. And after a few eye-opening observations, my work will eventually go back up. This was just a reminder that some people are just not good people. They have issues of inadequacy that they will project onto you, and there's nothing you can do to help them; they have to help themselves.

Today we’re shipping a HEAVILY requested feature

Comments.

On.

Main.

Say goodbye to the days of draft-only comments. Now you and your collaborators can leave comments right smack in the main doc. πŸ₯΅

Commenting on the main document works the same as in drafts.

Simply highlight the text you wish to comment on -> type, style, and post πŸ’Œ

Comments can be carried over from the main doc to drafts (just select keep comments) πŸ‘‡β€¦ as well as merged back into the main document from drafts 😱

We’re also using the opportunity to update the titles of collaborator roles to better reflect all the things Ellipsus can do now!

  • Can merge -> Document editor
  • Can edit -> Draft editor
  • Can comment β€”> Commenter (on both main & drafts)
  • Can view -> Viewer

To be clear: the permissions structure isn’t changing, just the names! You can get acquainted with the new role titles here: Collaboration in Ellipsus

One thing to keep in mind when working with comments between drafts & main doc:

  • When merging, a comment in the draft will overwrite a comment in main linked to the same portion of text. In other words, overlapping comments = merge conflicts, so try to keep your comments spaced out.

Typewriter scrolling keeps the line your typing on in a fixed spot, while the scrolling view moves around it.

Typed lines will move up the page, rather than down, as your cursor stays level, for a super steady writing experienceβ€”just like a typewriter!

To toggle on go to Editor settings -> Typewriter scrolling.

Knowing about DARVO is a lifeline for abuse survivors. Especially if you are still in your abuse or still in contact with your abuser. Understanding that this is the playbook of abusers gives you power.

This is designed to disorent you, force you into a defensive position and leave you apologising and unlikely to raise an issue again. Survivors come away from these interactions confused and dazed.

Get comfortable with these phrases

"My recollection of events is not up for debate."

"That may be true, but we are discussing your behaviour right now."

"Let's focus on what actually happened."

"You are holding me accountable for your actions"

You will be so much firmer in your conversations and more importantly, in yourself, now you know about it. You will find yourself holding your ground better and blaming yourself less. You will find yourself more confident in your truth.

I wish more people knew about this because it happens more often than you think. It doesn't have to be a romantic relationship for this to be taking place either.

First of all, Thank you πŸ₯ΉπŸ’• I am legitimately amazed every time someone says they like what I've written. And yesss, Bonds In Blue will be getting an update soon cause its loooong overdue. I never stop thinking about Pierce and Amara✨

Til then, have this incomplete drawing of them from this past summer. I was annoyed with how it was turning out, so this isn't exactly canon to how she looks but close enough to what was in my head at the time
