Aren't you fed-up with garbage, full-of-shit sites where nobody actually communicates, such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter? Do you wish your old friends who've migrated to those sites would return to LiveJournal? The the_lj_revival community has been set up with that aim in mind, and you are invited to join it. If you are already on LiveJournal and still have a Facebook profile, and would like to see more people returning to LJ or setting up accounts here, we invite you to post a link to this community on your Facebook Timeline. If you would like to find out who is still using LiveJournal and make contact with those who are already here, you are invited to copy and paste the 'about me' questions on the profile page and post them with your answers to the community.

I handed in my final assessments on monday, placements all finished, everything done and dusted, just awaiting the programme assessment board to clear me for NMC registration!

I can't BELIEVE it's finally over. This last three years has been so hard, some times were good but other times I cried and wondered what the hell I was doing. Good placements, bad placements - fantastic placements, hellish placements; mentors who were exactly the kind of nurses I want to be and mentors who made me feel so bad about myself that I wanted to quit. It's all over. But really, it's just beginning.

I'm terrified, but excited. Wish me luck!

Another post about Learning Disabilities Placement!

I start in the morning and having a last minute panic because I forgot to ask what to wear - I know it's no uniforms but I don't know if it's smart or casual. Jeans or Black baggyish linen trousers? (About all I have!) Is a smart plain t-shirt okay? It's in a residential home so I thought it would be quite casual but someone's just planted a seed of doubt.

If you see this and have any idea, please reply!! :D xx

Hey everyone, I'm Emily and I'm just about to start my learning disabilities placement! Has anyone got any advice or tips?

I'm apparently in a home with three residents... seems like a small amount!

Hug Your Caregiver Day Initiative

National Hug Your Caregiver Day Initiative
November 21st

Caregivers are the backbone that supports our society. They come in many shapes, sizes, and focus in many different areas. Everybody knows caregivers. They can be parents, spouses, family, friends, healthcare providers, massage therapists, chiropractors, nanny's, babysitters, pet sitters, or anybody else who has taken care of another living being.

Caregivers are also some of the most ignored and taken for granted people in our society. These people dedicate part of their lives, if not their whole lives, to caring for others. And yet, they are often touch deprived and feel under/un-appreciated.

Started in 2008, the National Hug Your Caregiver Day Initiative is trying to raise awareness about caregiver appreciation. We are helping people learn to show their appreciation for the caregivers in their lives.

Join our yahoo group at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hug_…aregiver_day/

Use this blog to share your stories about caregiving, or to share your stories about a caregiver who is special to you.

The website is being created and will be going live by January 2009.

Looking for Ideas!

Hey guys!

I am third year mental health nursing student and am looking to pick your brains and steal your ideas. I got set my dissertation today and am at a complete loss for ideas. We have a pretty free reign as far as topics are concerned, so was wanting some inspiration.

If any of you mental health students have started your dissertations, or just have awesome ideas in general, I would love to hear them. I will repay you in respect and compliments! :)
