The big relief for the market is they’re sticking to $50B capex for FY26. Yes that’s a ton of cash, and will mean it’s cash-flow negative in short-term…but no more money is needed. How can it build out the $553B bookings? By getting creative. It’s AI customers can afford to pre-pay for the GPUs, or even bring their own to the data centers. Oracle also pushed back on the software anxieties - what we all know Oracle for. “Some smaller or single-focused SaaS players may well be disrupted, but Oracle will not,” co-CEO Mike Sicilia said on the analyst call. But will disrupt itself. As my colleague Brody Ford has reported, job cuts are coming as fewer people are needed due to AI. The company said its own AI Code Generation tech is already them “to build more software in less time with fewer people.” So the relief for investors is not for employees. A painful theme. Hammad Hussain shared this"GPT5 can build games… but is it as easy as Sam A. suggested?" 🎮🐭 After hearing all the hype (and skepticism) around GPT-5, my wife and I ran a weekend experiment:👉 Could AI create a simple Cat & Mouse kids’ game? Here’s what happened: - GPT-4o & GPT-5o both generated the game logic, but the mouse never appeared 🐭🚫 - Debugging felt like a loop — AI kept saying “fixed” but the bug stayed - At one point, GPT-5 even admitted: “I can’t fix this, paste the code again.” - Did this multiple times to no avail - Finally, pasting the corrected code back into Lovable made it work ✅ ⚡ Lesson learned: - AI is a brilliant co-pilot for creativity, but when it comes to debugging, it still feels like a black box - I'm sure my prompting needs a lot work when it comes to creating games / code If you’d like to try the game yourself, DM me and I’ll share the code with you. 👉 Curious to hear: How smooth has your experience been with AI-assisted coding? #AI #GPT5 #Coding #Experiment #Innovation #DevLife

Few are even close. In most cases, simpler and traditional transformation methods will move the needle faster. Agentic AI is the new buzzword in banking. The idea: autonomous AI “agents” that can handle complex, multi‑step processes end‑to‑end - like originating a mortgage without human touch. The reality: banks aren’t ready. Agentic AI needs: ▪️ Clean, structured data across silos. ▪️ Deep integration with legacy systems. ▪️ Robust governance to avoid “autonomous” missteps. ▪️ Regulator‑friendly visibility and audit trails at every decision point. Most banks are still wrestling with scattered data, patchy integrations, and compliance regimes that demand human sign‑off. That’s why, in practice, they’re seeing more risk than reward from going fully autonomous today. Instead, the smart ones are chasing the gains hiding in plain sight: ▪️ Smart document ingestion: AI‑lite tools (think ABBYY, Hyperscience) that classify, extract, and validate mortgage docs in minutes. ▪️ Rule‑based workflow automation: example RPA to handle repetitive steps without code rewrites. ▪️ Integrated comms orchestration: Chat, email, SMS, and push notifications that keep customers moving without manual chasers. ▪️ Pre‑emptive error detection: Flagging incomplete applications before they hit the underwriter’s desk. These steps don’t just improve turnaround times - they build the muscle, data quality, and integration foundations needed for Agentic AI later. In summary: Not every optimisation needs to be AI. Not every AI needs to be agentic. Traditional analytics, tools and platforms can create big impact too - in the short run. See example below.

Stereotypes, biases and low expectations affect every aspect of the lives of people with intellectual disabilities. The video was inspired by a speech made by Marta Sodano, a 29-year-old Italian woman with Down syndrome. Marta said: “I discovered that in psychology there is a concept called “self-fulfilling prophecy”, whereby a teacher who thinks that a student cannot understand would just act accordingly and therefore they would not teach the student. That’s the route proposed by Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI) professor and AI expert Yejin Choi, who argues that the cultural dominance of English in LLMs silences other cultures and shuts whole communities out of AI’s benefits. Her solution? Smaller, more boutique language models, which use less power and processing, train through interaction rather than mass data consumption, and reflect the pluralistic values of their creators. It’s small language models, Choi argues, that are more likely to embody fully the rich and diverse variety of human perspective. A report by the World Economic Forum, in collaboration with Accenture, provides a pathway for the responsible scaling of AI, built around three action drivers – design for efficiency, deploy for impact, and shape demand wisely – and supported by enablers such as education, collaboration and transparent measurement. More than 350,000 people have already tested the service and submitted over two million requests. Our goal is to change the very principle of how citizens interact with the state. We are building an Agentic State: instead of complex forms and unnecessary bureaucracy, people will have a simple dialogue with an AI agent and receive fast results. The state is becoming a proactive service — convenient, clear and designed to reduce the burden on citizens. At the summit, Oleksandr Bornyakov also presented the results of his first 120 days in the new role. The progress is already tangible: 🔹 22+ new services launched in Diia 🔹 850+ new companies joined Diia.City 🔹 more than UAH 17 billion in taxes paid by Diia.City residents in just four months 🔹 5G pilots launched in Borodianka and Kharkiv — and on the very first day, a couple registered their marriage online in Diia via 5G Next, we plan to scale Mriia to another 3,000 schools, launch Mriia.Preschool and introduce more than 40 AI solutions for Diia.Education. We are also preparing 500 digital leaders for the Defence Forces through the Digital Defence initiative, while continuing to develop Diia.City, Diia.City Invest, telecom infrastructure and 5G. One SQL statement. In-engine COW branching. → 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟰 Snowflake. 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟱 Aurora. 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭 Neon. → 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 — Databricks acquires Neon, calls it Gen 3 Twelve years late. With a marketing department. 📉 The hard limits matter: → Lakebase: 500 branches/project, 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟬 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲 🚧 → Oracle Multitenant: 𝟰𝟬𝟵𝟴 𝗣𝗗𝗕𝘀/𝗖𝗗𝗕, no active cap, full ACID + transparent failover → Lakebase storage: closed Postgres pages + an Iceberg projection bridge → Oracle: SQL + JSON + Graph + Vector + Spatial in one engine, one query plan The only real gap was developer experience. Lakebase had `git branch`-shaped CLI ergonomics. Oracle didn't. Past tense. Patrick shipped 𝗽𝗱𝗯-𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵 — Python/Node/Rust/Java + a `pdb` CLI on one PL/SQL package. Branch, score, promote, reap. Hammad Hussain liked thisHammad Hussain liked thisAI wealth distribution is getting some airtime… In fact, it just sparked a $300B wealth wipe-out in South Korea as a policymaker debated the ways in which profits from AI giants could be redistributed among citizens. The nation’s Kospi stock index plummeted as investors panicked that Samsung Electronics and SK hynix might face higher tax burdens for a so-called “citizen dividend.” The government moved to reassure the markets that these ideas by the President’s advisor were but ideas…and markets recovered somewhat. But this more philosophical and moral debate is starting to build. Not just in S.Korea, where Samsung workers are threatening strikes starting May 21 unless they see better pay or bonuses from the tech giant’s ballooning bottom line. The ideas are perculating through America too, where OpenAI has already published the idea of a “wealth fund” to spread the money more broadly outside just tech leaders and asset holders. So how do you feel about the ideas? Does “AI to benefit all humanity” mean AI earnings as well as AI products? Would government payments, or other forms of investment be most beneficial?
