A jury of peers

Hey all.

So the first case in this community came to an apparently amicable ending between the accuser (0nm10wn2feet)and the accused (canta_per_me). They settled "out of court," one would say.

Which I'm very glad to hear.

It took a lot of work, but peace was made. (Round of applause)

My first nomination goes to:

canta__per__me

This person trolls through her friends' profiles on Myspace, then trolls through her friends' friends profiles, sucking up pictures of people she doesn't know personally, to be held up for ridicule in a community called badmakeup.

Once the pictures of the 'victims' are posted, complete with canta__per__me's own caustic commentary, the community as a whole is invited to weigh in with their comments denigrating the 'victims.' Said denigration runs the gamut from merely critiquing makeup and hair to commentary and speculation regarding the 'victim's' possible gender and/or sexual orientation. At various points, canta__per__me responds to comments with more snarky, syncophantic remarks, clearly designed to keep the derision going strong.

To top it off, though, when informed that her use of certain images has caused someone who already suffers from depression additional emotional distress, her response is to complain about the 'victim's' "whining." She reminds one that others are "bi-polar" but even THEY find the 'victim,' and any who choose to champion their cause, "rather strange."

In view of her callous attitude and apparent sense of superiority, I feel that this person clearly exemplifies the sort that this community was intended to identify.

No discussion is over until I say it's over(because I'm the moderator.)

We have 11 members, which includes me, so all of us have to agree for an outcome - to convict or acquit.

Anyone can participate in the conversation if they can follow the rules - if not, comments shall be deleted and people shall be baninated.

ALSO - to clarify something I read somewhere else - I started this community. Not someone else. If you have a problem with it or its purpose, feel free to talk to me.
