Two weeks to go!

Have yourself a Happy Handmade Christmas!

After the enormous success of ‘We Make London’ in June, the We Make team is back with a vengeance with the forthcoming ‘We Make Christmas’

The We Make Christmas fair (Saturday 6th December 2008) kicks off the festive shopping season for Londoners seeking those illusive unique, affordable handmade gifts. Held at The American Church in London’s West End, We Make is a concept created by local designer-makers for local designer-makers: a showcase for talent, a market-place and a family day out all under one roof.

The We Make team comprises of a group of trendy young artisans, ‘doing it for themselves’. They wanted a place to show their designs so they invented one. At this second event, visitors will be given a rare chance to buy and commission work from a wide range of innovative and unique artisans.

Check out the UKHandmade Blog for the full story

There will be ‘how to make’ demonstrations, Carol Singers, and Mince Pies to be had. Not to mention

Hello?

Hello there!
Im a senior at an international high school in the Paris suburbs and I was interested in Slade (UCL in general)...
My mom's worked very hard in booking a trip to london for about 3 days.. 27-30th? and I'm planning on going to a few open days for art schools in London. Unfortunately it seems UCL doesnt have an open day during my stay which dissapoints me.. I wanted to know if there was any way a student (one of the UCL lj community perhaps?) could give me a short tour of the school.. if they're in Slade (or not): it'd be cool to ask a few questions? also: anyone to check out my portfolio and give me some tips... is this allowed? is anyone willing? Thanks for any comments !

Hey, can anyone tell me the pros and cons of Hughes Parry and Commonwealth Hall?

I'm stuck on which of the two to put as my second choice for accommodation..

Thanks!

Hi! My name is Ilya.I'm from Russia and I’m a student of Saint-Peterburg University of Economic.
I worry about the state of system of education in my country. Diplomas of graduating Russian students are not regarded in Europe and USA. There are only two Russian universities in The world’ TOP 200 universities.
I take part in the project, in which we make a comparison of standards of educational in your university and in our university.
In this connection The Ministry of Educational of Russia is very interested in our project and helps us.
Your university got higher grade in The World’ TOP 200 universities. I’d like to know more about system of education of your university so that to adopt your experience in our country.
write me, I'd like to communicate with everyone!

Lockers

Hey everybody!

Does anyone know of anywhere at UCL you can rent a locker (without joining the gym)? I'm commuting in from glamorous Croydon this year and I don't want to lug my books around everyday.

Also, I'm back at UCL from my year abroad and as literally 99.7% of my friends have graduated and all seem to have run off to Australia or Birmingham, I'd like to meet some new people, especially anyone doing Scandinavian studies or history at SEESS this year. So if anyone fancies at drink at ULU or giving a tour round the scary new SSEES building, do let me know!

PS, I finished my year abroad dissertation thing about 10 minutes ago!Yay!
