Pin Up Bowl

Meh.

I've been there a few times to get a beer (never to bowl) and wasn't really impressed with the place. Yeah, the architecture is nifty and you have to love a place that beams Adult Swim on projected TVs above bowling lanes, but it just had this "too cool for you" feel to it.

Well, I figured it was just me - maybe I'd had a bad day all the times I'd been there. So, after getting a nifty gift certificate from parkview properties, I decided to host a bunch of friends for a few games while we watched the Rams play.

Never again.

First of all: 2 lanes for 2 hours on a Sunday afternoon costs $160. $160. That's quite a chunk of change, and it doesn't even include shoe rental ($3 per person). I have no problem paying a premium for good things, but they had damn well better be worth it. This includes getting zero attitude from the waitstaff and reasonably functioning lanes, neither of which we got. The fact that we were the only people there only compounds things.

I don't feel like going into detail right now - ask me about it in comments if you're interested.

In short - forget Pin Up Bowl. Saratoga Lanes isn't far away and you'll get far far more bang for your buck.
