Welcome to twotogo, a Buffyverse icon challenge community!
Contest Info: The premise of this challenge is to create an icon using two characters. Each week there will be a poll with characters from the shows Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel: the Series. Each week the members will be asked to vote for two characters. The two characters that receive the highest number of votes will be put into the next challenge.
In coming weeks we may add extra modifications to the challenge (such as "must be romantic" or "textless only" etc.) as we see fit.
To avoid getting the same two characters every week, the two winning characters will not be counted in the poll the following week. However, they will be eligible the week after. In the event of a three-way tie, we may choose to either randomly select two or do a challenge to involve all three. Occasionally, if characters are completely incompatible, we may choose to pick the top three or four characters with the most votes to give members more to work with.
Rules: 1. All icons must fit into lj file and size requirements. 2. Only moderators have posting access. 3. Entries are to remain anonymous until voting is over, thus DO NOT post your icon anywhere else before voting is over. Any users found doing this will be disqualified. 4. YOU MUST use both characters in the challenge, and they both must be clearly visible. 5. Do not use any of the icons posted in the challenges without the creator's permission. 6. Any extra modifications to the challenge must be followed as specified each week. 7. Each member may submit only one icon per challenge.
Submitting: Every week there will be a post clearly labeled with the challenge information on it. ALL ENTRIES for that challenge must be posted in a comment to that post. When submitting PLEASE include both the image and the URL where the icon is located. Also, please make sure that your icon is hosted somewhere that allows direct linking. Comments will be screened to keep the entries anonymous until voting is over.
Voting: At the end of the challenge period there will be a post including all the entries from the challenge. Members will be asked to vote for their first, second, and third place choices, in that order. Icons placed first will receive 3 points, placed second will receive 2 points, and third place will receive 1 point. (This method of voting was inspired by the spuffychallenge, and we felt it was the most fair way to cast votes.) Along with voting for icons, the poll for the next challenge will be included. All votes will be screened.
Timeline (Updated): Challenges will be held on a weekly basis. A new challenge will be posted every Monday. All icon entries must be in by midnight on Friday (eastern standard time) each week. (The exception is that if we have less than 5 entries submitted to any given challenge, it will be held over for another week.) Voting will start Saturday and end Sunday, giving members approximately 48 hours to get their votes in. Winners will be posted Monday along with next challenge!
Awards: Since this is a new community, we're going to start out by simply doing first, second and third place for icons. Once we get more than 15 icons per challenge there will be two mod choice icons each week, in which each mod will choose an icon we feel deserves a special award (and actually explain why we choose that specific icon).
Eventually, once we get enough members, we may change the style of winners to "most creative", "most funny", "most unique" and so forth. This will be determined later by vote of the members.
Award banners will be given to all winners. The mods will alternate who makes the banners each week. (sparklypoof will do it one week, lonesheep will do it the next, etc.)
Community icon: Every ten weeks we'll have a special themed challenge. The winning icon of this challenge will become the new community default icon!
Previous Winners: All winners will be displayed on the main page in the winners showcase for roughly three weeks. All previous icon winners and character combinations we've had thus far will be archived HERE. All icons on display will be hosted on webspace provided by the moderators.
