Possibly Off Topic, but here ya go.
One of the things that struck me about the Trailer for the new film is the similarities to the film
The Dark Secret of Harvest Home
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077399/
based on the novel by Thomas Tryon.
(I have read the Novel, and if you have not,and love horror, please do read it.It's a classic you don't hear much about.)
In the book/miniseries there is a town called "Harvest Home" That appears to be completely pagan after you get to know everyone. If you pass through the town, you would miss it. But the town basically is totally pagan. They are run by a matriarchy of witches and in one case, the sacraficial Corn King has his tongue cut out.
In the film Betty Davis (yes that's right)is Widow Fortune, the sinister Matriarch who rules the town with a iron fist. Nothing get's by her,and when a newcomer from New York marries one of the women in the town,he get's a lesson he will never forget.
You can tell how Stepen King's writing was inspired by this book/series,and how other authors stole from it (And the Wicker Man.)
Have any of you read the book,or have you seen the miniseries?
I would love to hear feedback about this and the similarities to the new film (The Wicker Man)
Alright,Talk amongst yourselves.
