I keep seeing this and while I agree with the sentiment (yes easy modes, yes accessibility), I disagree with the blanket claim that "video games are supposed to be fun and relaxing, not stressful"
Video games are art and art is supposed to invoke whatever emotion it intends to.
Ubisoft deciding to decommission older single player games and make them completely inaccessible to people who've bought them further cements the moral imperative to never ever buy a single thing from them anymore and pirate the living hell out of anything they put out.😤
"Play to earn" is a horribly dystopian concept. Every aspect of our lives is already being turned into a commodity, into something we have to monetize. "Play" is the last retreat from this all-devouring madness - I don't want to play to *earn* shit, I just want to get a break.
Periodic reminder that Bobby Kotick appeared in Jeffrey Epstein's little black book complete with his activision email and was a confirmed passenger on the child traffic express.
As someone who's approached regularly by game developer PR to make "sponsored videos" I can confirm 100% that this is the case, and it is egregious and downright cynical how unfiltered a lot of PR outreach people talk about this behind closed doors.

*whispers* the reason studios have started to favor influencers over critics is because they don't really want opinions & reviews. They want to control the narrative, and influencers give them what they've always dreamed of: positive PR that appears to be genuine endorsement.
